[News] John Harbaugh Expects Terrell Suggs Back

28 posts in this topic

That's great news. Even having sizzle on the practice field and sidelines will help this squad. Look what Ray's speech did yesterday!

I just wish he could make a miraculous recovery and be back this year....... I still believe his absence on the field this year is a good reason why the defense is not as dominate.... As always, just my opinion..... :)

The other question is whether Suggs will be back at the Under Armour Performance Center this season, simply to provide leadership and help some of the younger players develop. The Ravens could use his guidance, sense of humor and intelligence.

I thought all the reports about him not being in contact with the organization were definitely overblown- but allow me to play devils advocate.

It's possible he might feel just a little unappreciated. We ask him to adjust his contract and gave him the impression it was so we could retain ngata ...and then kind of just hoodwinked him. Of course that's just speculation but it's clear that he was a little bothered by not Having his buddy in camp. then everybody was giving him a hard time about his weight in minicamp and what not..and a lot of ppl were saying they were expecting him to start regressing this year and that his production would decline..everybody starts saying we need to add some new young pass rushers in the draft ( which is obviously true) ..but then he gets injured week one and kind of just gets forgotten. Were all calling for some new guys like bosa etc. meanwhile you haven't heard a whole lot of ppl harping or being anxious for him to return next season. Obviously were a little preoccupied with trying to win some games, which is exactly why harbaugh just said he hasn't even thought about it and that thinking about What Suggs is going to do isn't the priority right now. Apparently his dad's not in good health. I don't know I just think he may be a bit depressed right now..we don't know how he is perceiving all of this and he may be questioning some things. Just a thought. Personally I think he's just taking some time to get well and to be with his family and he will be back in due time. His loyalty lies with the Ravens and him and SSS both will be back next year for one more push..and they will go out together.

Whats this with all the Achilles tears? It seems you never used to hear about them or they were few and far between now we have had several in just a few years. I guess they just don't making Achilles like they used to.

Sizzle aka The Last General has been greatly missed. Like the Generals before him, he always made big plays when it mattered the most. I have the feeling he would have influenced the outcomes of some of these close games that

we've lost...definitely not going down without a fight. Get well Sizzle and let's hunt again next season.

Sizzle we need you back to mentor to these youngsters like only you can do. And some of that famous trash-talkin' of your's would be fine too.

I seriously doubt the Ravens really want Suggs back. If you look at what has happened since the SB I think John took that "mutiny " to heart and decided to get young guys infor better control.

Sizzle was a voice of reason in the middle of that "mutiny", and had nothing to do with it. He has re-structured his contract more than once to help the team free up cap space when needed, and is truly a Raven for life.

I think you're totally off-base here.

It should also not be forgotten that when Bart Scott was still here, Suggs suggested they all take less money to stay together. That's a team player.

My question exactly. It seems as if there is a new "uncommon injury bug" every year.

Last year it was the Lisfranc injury, something I had never heard of before. This year apparently it Achilles and biceps tears, both of which have happened before, but according to doctors are rather rare.

Is someone checking into the strength and conditioning staff's work??? Cause it seems unlikely that all these uncommon injuries are just coincidences.

Another thing, according to Hensley "Harbaugh said he hasn't had much communication with injured LB Terrell Suggs, who hasn't been at team facility since tearing his Achilles." That's one thing I don't understand and can't get behind.

I mean, is there a rule or something prohibiting from a player on IR from sticking around with their team from time to time helping out their teammates??

Even if a player gets injured in first game and is out for the season, he is STILL PART OF THE TEAM. Suggs wasn't fired, he's on the IR. What do you mean he isn't in team facility?!

Okay yeah, he doesn't necessarily need to be there 6 days a week for 10 hours every day, nor should he definitely rehab with team doctors. But just being there for this team even if he doesn't play is vital! At least this is what I believe that true Leaders should do.

Just go help coach the players, give them tips, help them to study opponents...jeesh even giving rookies like Smith a pat on the back on the hallway and saying "Go get a sack for me on Sunday!" would give them a confidence boost I'm sure!

I love Suggs and I do hope he returns but I can't understand why he hasn't been around HIS team at all this season. Sure, you rehab all over the country, spend time with your family or whatever, but find the time to visit every other week or so at least.

Especially in the midst of all the turmoil this season and clear void in sound leadership, Suggs, who has been stamped as the leader and cornerstone of this team, should have showed up and motivated the team at least couple of times.

This is a bit disappointing to be honest, smh.

He is contractually obligated to be here next year. With the injury history and his age factor, a trade would be difficult.  I want him back.  He is the first player people think of when Ravens D is mentioned.

Sami: There are so many players who had experienced this as well as other leg injuries this year. Suisam,LeVeon Bell, Matt Forte Reggie Bush, Steve  and so on.  Its Bizarre...

We all need him to shut up Skip Bayless too.

So what? Suggs won't make a bit of difference. Their lack of coverage skills ia appalling. Suggs is older as well. He has been a great player for the Ravens. I wish him well, but we are already 6 losses into a lost season. Let him get ready and come back next year. To have him rush back this year is absurd.

Can Suggs wear his Gladiator helmet on the sideline if he is not in uniform? It would be nice (and valuable) to have him on the sideline with the team - he could see formations and help the guys on the field, in addition to help get them fired-up. Maybe he will soon, now that he can move around.

"I think you're totally off-base here." We shall see either way it will get spun that it was Suggs's fault anyway. If I'm off base then there is no connection that this team is the worst Ravens team put together since 1997? Ravens have gotten so arrogant that they have developed a PR issue.

Re-read the article.

"Suggs was immobilized for at least six weeks after his surgery, which means he wouldn’t have been able to move until about now,"

Suggs at 33 is definitely too young to retire, glad it sounds like he'll be back. I kinda thought he would anyway, seemed the team did too. I guess that's why I didn't question it much...it was an 'of course!' In my mind.

I still believe this has to do with the use of Floroquinolone Antibiotics (Cipro, Levaquin, etc).  These weaken the connective tissue, especially the tendons.  The effect is usually not noticed until well after the course of treatment.  Not a big deal for most ordinary folks like me who just get soreness, but you add a lot of stress on that tendon and the result can be very bad.  FDA has  added a black box warning, but I wonder if that is getting as much attention as it should

I seriously can't see how fans believe this team wants Suggs back after Boldin, Torrey,Ngata,Jones, and Graham. All the positions the Ravens now have holes in. That's some blind faith Ravens fans. They will probably ask SUGGS for ANOTHER pay cut.
