[News] Steve Smith Sr. Hasn't Made A Decision On Returning

39 posts in this topic

It would be hard to believe that Ravens Nation would not welcome Steve Smith Sr. back for the 2016 season. Smith Sr. has earned the title "Baltimore Raven."

Steve beats to his own drum. The 2015 Ravens need to really have a strong second half of the season to let him know he has a real chance at a SuperBowl Run next year. Finish strong for SSS. ICE Up.

Good luck on your surgery SSS. If you decide to come back next year, all Ravens fans would be "over the moon" happy to have you. As Harbs said, the final chapter to your career has yet to be written. Just imagining another possible year with you a Raven can sure be good news in contrast to yesterday, when  Baltimore fans were totally stunned  and felt devastated to see you injured. You mean so much to your teammates and your fans who embraced you from day 1. Get well and come back to us next year SSS if that's what's in your heart. Whatever you decide, I feel blessed that you joined the Ravens. I have the utmost respect for you as a man and you are 1 of the most extraordinary players I ever had the pleasure to watch play this game..

i had to see perriman's name.. if there were a player that would be good trade stock for a viable reciever.. he would be it. he's injury prone and the raven's don't need that. this is a draft bust. a sprain doesn't take this long to heal. if smith comes back, he needs a viable #2 to take some of the pressure off. perriman isn't going to be it..

Steve Smith Sr. is without a doubt my favorite player in all my years of watching the Ravens. I just love his passion, his energy, his devotion to the game, and he has such an amazing smile! I really love honest people and this guy has no b.s. with him. I hope and pray he comes back and has an awesome final season! If not, I'm grateful we had him as long as we had him.

I went on the Carolina Panthers website to read what they had to say about the injury to SSS. There was not 1 article or reference to 1 of the best players in their franchise history. Sure, SSS is no longer a member of the Panthers but the Ravens website has mentioned prior Ravens when something very significant happened. In the Forum section, there was a thread about the trade rumors and an old thread from a couple of years ago. I was a little surprised that mentioning SSS is either taboo in the news or there is some other head scratching reason. Reading all the Forum comments, I was also surprised that there are fans who didn't want a trade (prior to the injury) and comments from some that they didn't want SSS to retire a Panther either. There is still a lot of bad blood and not even mentioning the injury to SSS anywhere seems disrespectful to all he gave to that team. I have changed my perspective on whether SSS is sure to retire a Panther after looking at the website. I do think there may be a chance SSS would consider retiring a Raven. There are some fans bitter at how badly the FO disrespected SSS in the way they cut him and the excuses for doing so. There are a lot of issues too long to list here but I would totally understand if SSS decides to retire a Raven. I would be proud for SSS to retire a Raven and it's not as unlikely as I once thought.

Triple " S " "ICE UP SON" and come back to Bmore and get that ring! Go out like Ray Ray did he wasn't a 100% but him being in the locker room and on the field pushed the Ravens over the top! The Ravens need to Rock Triple " S " number on their arms to show mad respect for that MAN! LETS GO!

If we can get SSS back, then Perriman and maybe another newbie from the draft that could be the turning point in the AFC North to finally overcome the Bungles. I wanna see more offense and tighter defense. And hope we can keep Tucker and Kock

I think he'll be back next year, he's not the kind of guy to end his career like this without at least trying to come back, guy just plain isn't a quitter.

Jason La Canfora wrote an article on cbssports.com saying that close sources to SSS, that he will return in 2016.

i really hope he comes back and hope that if he does, its to a team that has its act together. A team that will be able to give him the reduced reps he needs because we will have enough playmakers so that he can finish up the season in one piece. as much as i think he enjoys the game, i think what he ultimately wants is to be a Super Bowl winner.

Could you imagine what it would have been like to of had Steve Smith and Ray Lewis on the same roster..I woulda felt a somewhat bad for all of our opponents! I think Steve Smith could get 10 sacks on defense too if we let him play both sides! If this is it, it's been a pleasure, Agent Smith

All of us want him back.  However, he will limp into his house, hug his wife and kids.  That is one area few of us consider when he makes the final decision.

At the Jacksonville game, the stadium screens should show all his great plays at every television break.   In fact that should be a routine from now on.

How can they say Steve Smith hasn't made a decision on returning when he is on the record as saying this was his final season? Sounds like a decision to me.

yet givens and ross does the positive opposite and yet they're not in every snap?

Hey Ravens if you want Steve Smith Sr to come back next season, give him a reason to come back by finishing strong this season. At this point, 8-8 would be fantastic!
