Third Down Efficiency 7/13 - 53%; Gross Yards Passing 301. The only difference between this game and all the others with the defense is Joe did not turn the ball over.

A lot more bump and run, press coverage out of Jimmy. Maybe hes getting fully healthy with his foot or maybe they are just ready to let him do his thing.

Jernigan seemed inspired by 52, he got that early sack..then went right over to him. We need Jernigan to be that guy. Hes the One guy who has raw talent and ability to be a 7-10 sack Pass rush machine DT, he has to bring it every week. Give offenses the second option to think about besides Dumervil.

Continue to get better on 3rd down D and pivatol Defensive stats

I still think Pees has to go after this season. He is just terrible with in-game adjustments. If he game plan isn't working he just continues to stay with it. My dream scenario is that the Colts do fire Pagano and he comes back as our D coordinator for next year and beyond.

Here's my thought....glad they responded....but What the heck?!!! Why does somebody gotta get in your a$$, to do your job? Just do your job. Secondly, somebody get on Asa's butt....You can bet that our next opponent will make sure that the Ref's are watching #27 closely on Extra Points and Field Goals. We can't give up 5 yards if they call us for jumping offsides. Great play, but clean up the timing. It will come to bite us later, if we don't clean it up now.

You've got a point there!

Sorry not buying this. If Keenan Allen and most of the Chargers O-line didn't get hurt then we would have seen the same results we've been seeing throughout the season. Pees needs to go.

The defense still sucks, how many times did they get beat yesterday for wide open touchdowns and missed tackles? Flacco not turning the ball over is the difference in being 2-6 and 1-7

Teams love them Mosley match ups

I still think his knee isn't 100%. Seems slower to me and thinking before he takes off instead of reacting.

Really, the D was not exactly awe inspiring.

We did get a nice stop when we needed it (of course, Koch putting SD on the 2 was helpful ...). Then when we took the lead, they gave up a score, but at least they didn't give up a TD (again, better, but not awe inspiring)

In previous games, it seemed that we'd give up a score that forced the offense to score a TD with their last possession. We'd drive the field, but would ultimately come up short (on 2 occasions a pick in the end zone). A lot easier to get that win when all you need is an FG (and you have Tucker).

That back shoulder pass to Floyd was incomplete because it was a bad throw. Jimmie had nothing to do with affecting the outcome of that play. For the second time this season we were lucky enough to win in spite of the D's play (and Pees' outburst).

I have to say, I thought we were going to lose, much like last year (Chargers game), when they had their last drive, with a chance to take the lead. They did the same thing to us last year and won with a TD. This had deja vu written all over it. However, of course, I was beyond ecstatic, holding them to a FG, to tie. I had all the confidence in Flacco (with about 2 minutes left) to get it done. It really was a matter of time. It seems like whoever had the ball last with some time to work with, was going to win, and luckily for us, we got the stop to hold them to 3 points and had enough time, exactly enough, to get Tucker to do his thing. Great victory and everyone here, should be proud of the effort, the total team effort!

I think they love Daryl Smith trying to cover a TE or RB or bracket coverage by Arrington & Will Smith even better. Both Smiths are a huge liability in coverage (see Torrey & Floyd touchdowns). I would like to see the Ravens move Will Smith to ILB instead of Daryl Smith - the same way the Cards use Bucannon & Honey Badger or the Bucs use Mark Barron. The NFL is a passing league and the hybrid LB/S is the next evolution of the 3-4 defense and the big nickel package.

We are 2 1/2 games back of the 6th Seeded Jets who are 4-3 in the AFC, with plenty of time to make a surge. I'm hoping the media and the fans finally got under this teams skin because I think they needed it. Yes, there are plenty of holes on this team and we are probably not destined for SB50. If this team can come out ready to play with the heart that they showed against Cardinals and Chargers for the rest of the season I will be a proud Ravens Fan regardless of the W's & L's. That's all we should ever ask for. And I honestly didn't think we were getting that during a good portion of our slump.

Yep, and he also doesn't have Ngata, Mcphee, & Suggs on the field for support.

"The defense gave the Ravens offense the ball back with 2:27 left and needing just a field goal to win."

That is the reason why the Tuck could dance. :troll:

Actually, neither time was Asa offsides. The Center on the Chargers would rotate the ball before snapping. He's allowed to do that BEFORE he gets set, but in this case, the Chargers center would get set, then spin the ball before hiking. As soon as he started to spin the ball, technically the play begins - doesn't matter if he actually hikes the ball or not. Most centers will rotate the ball once they grab hold of it before getting set. Bad technique by the Center, good for Asa for recognizing it.

We have a Za, Steve and Daryl Smith    Who is Will?

Will Smith?  So he can get jiggy with the summertime in Miami?  Nah, we moved with his auntie and uncle in Belair.

I'm glad we won, but we still have a long way to go if we want to look like a team hungry for the playoffs!!! For we have to keep winning and not losing!!!

Great point imo cause the Chargers were dropping like flies.

Hadn't thought about that.

We also need some playmakers on defense

Ain't that the truth?
