[News] Ray Lewis' Pre-Game Speech Fired Up Ravens

46 posts in this topic

my fav line "1 & 6 doesn't define who you are, what defines who you are is what you do when you're 1 & 6" i love it! We gotta find a way to get him and Ed back in the building in some capacity.

Exactly that fire, passion and motivation is the X-factor that we have been missing ever since Ray left, and especially seem to be lacking of this year. At times this year it has looked like our players were waiting for a bus on the sidelines, looking all bored, sick and tired, like not wanting to be there. And now with Steve down for the season I can't think of anyone who can bring any kind of spark into this team. We badly need someone who can be even half the leader Lewis was.

None of us knows what goes on in the locker room as far as leadership goes. There will never be another Ray Lewis style of leadership for the Ravens. That does not mean we do not have leadership. I don't see the Ravens as being "flat" or bored. I see a team that has gone through and is still going through terrible times. Players are dropping like flies and we still continue to battle. Not a let up in site as far as I can see. I could not be prouder of this 2-6 team! Go Ravens.

Passion for the game! Either you have it or you don't. Now if some of the Ravens players and coaches can't piggy back off that speech and keep that fiery passion going then we have the wrong people in The Castle.

Ray shouldn't have to tell Joe to step up! Not sure how much Ray's speech impacted them because they came out looking like the same Ravens this season. Joe should have been on the defense asking for the ball back quickly (a polite way to tell them don't give up the lead). I think they will begin to play for him if he provides some commentary and show some emotion towards them. He mentioned lack of explosiveness last week and I guess they focused on that this week. Well let's enjoy the bye week with no news from the Castle like Elam.

What can you say about Ray ........ i get pumped just listening to him at my desk. Has the heart of a lion when it comes to life and football. Truly inspirational.

I have to say one more thing we as fans have been critical of the our football team, BUT the one thing I'm proud of is how they fight every game. No quit and as a fan I love that about them. Team !

I watched it a few times yesterday when it was in a portrait format. Today however, I couldn't stop rewinding and watching it so many times that I lost count. We the fans just miss his presence and it is doubly hurtful now that we have lost 2 substitutes for him in Sizzle and Steve Smith Sr.!

A shout out to all the fans who showed up to the game in purple and black! As Ray Lewis said to the Ravens team pre game speech to do...rally behind your leader. That's so true and why there's been success in any season any year, it's loyalty and family, in this case team family. Support...show up, even in disappointment, believe. That's what RL is about and what the Ravens are about!

Most say they felt pumped up hearing Rays words. I didn't feel pumped, I felt calm. The scope of my duties didn't feel beyond my capabilities. I felt ready to do what needed to be done. It didn't matter if I was successful or not because I knew my effort wouldn't cause me to have regrets.

RayRay said Joe Flacco's name twice. Called the man to lead and the rest to follow. EPIC....Why isn't he coaching us fulltime? We need u RL...
