Where do we pick?

941 posts in this topic

Pretty sure it was gabe who said something about them being equal and gordon having better vision and being better in a zbs but i could be wrong

Still got hopkins stud and patterson bust right tho. Darby too.

i thought highly of gordon as a stretch zone back, but i didnt say he had better vision, i said he has good enough vision to succeed in a kubiak system and that his one step burst was incredible and made him an attractive fit for us, and i still stand by that, SD's offensive line is possibly the biggest dumpster fire in the league, on par with the browns front office, i dont think its fair to judge him based on this season alone.

When we are blowing our own trumpets, I think I was the only one that thought Upshaw was an awful prospect.

i was seriously pissed about that pick. i didnt want an OLB period and i actually have grown to like upshaw a bit, i hated him as a prospect though

Don't talk to me about him. I wanted Bobby Wagner, Cordy Glenn, or Alshon Jeffery.

cordy glenn was my guy

He would've been a great addition right now. If we drafted him we likely never trade for Monroe. I like Monroe and all but I'd take Glenn over him. I wanted Veldheer more than Monroe. I guess we brought him back because of familiarity but I still maintain Veldheer should've been the guy

veldheer and glenn both would have gotten injured here. i dont think it matters who we put on the field, if theyre important then theyll get hurt lol

For those wondering......

Scenario One: Ravens Win, Improve to 4-7:

Eagles and the Dolphins would end up with the same SOS as us at .463. The next tie is Conference Record. Eagles are 3-6, Dolphins are 2-6, with a win over Cleveland our conference record improves to 3-5. Meaning the Dolphins would pick 6th, Eagles 7th followed by us picking 8th. So we were picking fourth entering the week, a win would drop us 4 spots in the order to 8th.

Scenario Two: Ravens Lose, fall to 3-8:

The Tennessee Titans would have the first overall pick at 2-9 then a five team log jam at 3-8. By virtue of our SOS, we would be picking second overall, followed by the Browns, Chargers, Cowboys then 49ers.

So we either leave MNF with the second overall pick or the eighth overall pick.

Nice analysis. Wow, what an unfortunate fall that would be.

With Tennessee having a good situation at LT in Lewan, they might pass on Tunsil (though they could always trade the pick). They need basically any position on defense, so maybe they'd go Bosa.

/Really disappointed the Titans choked that game away. If they just get a stop on 4th down they take knees to end the game >:-( They seem good enough to get more wins though, so hopefully they beat Jags, or possibly the Colts week 17 if they're resting (which I doubt).

i can just feel a win coming tonight, it would be in such classic ravens fashion for us to pull out every stop to get a win tonight. we are gonna play ourselves right out the bosa/tunsil range

I have a feeling that we'll win tonight and against the Dolphins in week 13. Then we'll finally be eliminated from playoff contention when we lose to Seattle giving us our 8th loss taking us right out of the playoff hunt officially.

we couldn't beat the browns in baltimore..

why do things suddenly change? Have we got better with schaub hurst jensen etc?

I'm a little late to the patting ourselves on the back party, but Jeffrey was my number one guy, followed by Glenn in 2012.

In 2013, Keenan Allen was my favorite prospect likely to be there at 32 (I thought Hopkins was a surefire Texan, otherwise he was my number one). I also thought Trufant was the best corner in that class and wanted him badly to be a Raven.

In 2015, my favorite prospect was Gurley and I considered Darby a top 15 talent.

Of course, I've had some misses in there, but I wanted to throw out a few.

I loved Allen, Trufant, and really liked Mathieu. I missed on Brown. I liked Beckham and Donald a lot in 2014. Oh well.

Everything I knew about Brown had him as a 4-3 OLB, so I was a bit wary, but you know, when Ozzie picked him, I went on his side.

Could be ... I mean, I hope we don't pull out every stop in terms of running trick plays, etc. to try to get a win. However, seeing some of our young talent (B. Williams, Jernigan, Mosely, Gilmore, Maxx, Allen, etc.) continue to grow and play well will be worth the prospects of a lower draft pick. Better that than having them look like crap just to get a better pick.

id prefer to see the team look good and have pees blow it with prevent defense in every game, then we have a real scapegoat and we got to see some excitement lol.

i absolutely dont wanna see another win this season, there is no moral victories in football, i dont wanna see us tank on purpose, but if we win one more game, we take a huge slide down the boards, it is not worth it to me in any way, the difference between 3-13 and 4-12 is not worth missing out on bosa/tunsil/ramsey/hargreaves/stanley/ogbah and getting stuck picking from a batch of mediocre prospects in a draft that is weak in the mid first. i will cheer for losses with no shame at all lol

Yeah I know I liked Donald and Mathieu a lot pre draft but I honestly forget a lot of it. Usually forget all that stuff in favor of the current info on prospects.

I thought I remembered you being a big PJ Williams guy for some reason, maybe I am getting mixed up.

This year has been an overall miss for me in terms of who I liked. I liked Gurley and Cooper but those guys were can't miss guys(Gurley assuming he stayed healthy) and I wasn't in love with either. I was a big fan of Gurley but the injuries had me scared.

Do anybody here think a 4 win team isn't picking in the top 5? Lol No need to panic. Even if we win tonight, we're likely to still lose out after due to SOS. Im pretty confident of that, No Bosa/Tunsil but Vernon Hargreaves would look great in purple.

Well, the seeing "the team look good" to me is still the most important part. There are guys that much of the fanbase has given up on that I'm thinking they are playing for their 2016 right now and need to play well (most notably, Webb) and then want to see that some of our younger players are bonafide studs, because we're going to need them to be going forward.

Schaub is another potential scapegoat ...

I'm definitely rooting for the league's crappy teams ... like I was genuinely pissed when the refs screwed the 49rs in that Cards game on the final drive yesterday. I'd have liked to have seen them come away with a win. But we have been getting some help in that area ...DET has won a few ... CHI - heck, even HOU was contending against us for the high pick and now they are fighting for that abysmal division.

I root for us to play well and win ... if we play well and don't win because of a lapse from someone I don't envision being a Raven next year ... then that may be better. I just don't want us to show no signs of hope.

I'd have to throw in MIA ... they are a bit of a train wreck and we play them at home. Actually, I wouldn't doubt we are given a better chance of winning that game that we are tonight's game.

I was big on PJ Williams and even took him the Mock Offseason. I remember rmw and I had a ton of discussion, though, about which was better. I was high on both. I was so torn and honestly, once PJ got his DUI, I completely flipped to Darby
