Where do we pick?

941 posts in this topic

Yeah, there is no doubt with the bad teams continuing to lose and for us to have this unexpected win is hurting our position. As much as that does kinda stink, I can't help but feel that ending the season on a high note is important for the team going forward.

Gonna be so mad if we win next week. For such a catastrophically terrible season we deserve a top 10 pick. The 49ers and Cowboys both have talent, the fact that they can't win a single game down this final stretch is down right pathetic.

question... if we win next week possibly facing the bengals bench, and end up in the teens, does leonard floyd come into play? he may not be a system fit, but our system seems a little dated anyway and a guy like floyd could be a nice spark to bring some explosiveness to a team that desperately needs it, the value was way off for where we were picking before though.

also, gimme alexander in the teens over hargreaves in the top 5 all day, the value is much better.

my biggest issue with falling behind, is our 2nd round pick, it hurts knowing we were basically geting 2 first rounders and now we arent

Bengals have nothing to play for IF they count on the Patriots beating the Dolphins. Now, we can all sit here and say, "we'll, of course they will" ... but is that the approach the Bengals will take? I don't think we face their bench ... unless they see the Pats have a win in the bag in the 2nd half. We'll see their starters in the early going at least.

Feels weird to say that about a divisional game, but I'm inclined to agree.

Really we want the Broncos to win big tomorrow. That way, they'll both be 11-4 and playing for a bye.

Plus the steelers are knocked out of contention.

Hindsight a 20/20 ain't it...

Love It We won and did the impossible. I based my conclusion on stats. I left out the team emotion.

Buckner has terrible technique I wouldn't take him in the 4th round in college you can rely on athleticism not in the NFL

I feel like you're thinking of Arik armstead lol.

  1. Bosa
  2. VH3
  3. Ramsey
  4. Stanley
  5. Tunsil
  6. Jaylon Smith(IDC what anyone says. If someone tells me he could be an elite player and compares the man to Patrick Willis, then I am taking him in the top ten. Difference makers are difference makers).
  7. Treadwell

Those seven are probably our targets. There's a possibility that two QBs will be taken in the top ten(Paxton Lynch to the Browns, and Goff to the Niners)

1. Tennessee Titans: 3-12 (.487 strength of schedule)-Larmey Tunsil
2. Cleveland Browns: 3-12 (.536 SOS) -Paxton Lynch
3. San Diego Chargers: 4-11 (.518 SOS)-Bosa
4. Dallas Cowboys: 4-11 (.540 SOS) -Jaylon Smith
5. San Francisco 49ers: 4-11 (.549 SOS) -Jared Goff
6. Jacksonville Jaguars: 5-10 (.464 SOS)-VH3
7. Miami Dolphins: 5-10 (.473 SOS)-Jaelen Ramsey
8. Baltimore Ravens: 5-10 (.518 SOS)-Ronnie Stanley

That's how I think it's going to go imo if this is the final order

Lol, I find it funny how similar our projections are from one thread to another. As you posted this, I posted my own guess in the "who falls to us" thread. Very similar guesses with a few differences.

Yeah, I thought it was a bit strange. I posted after you, so that would be kind of hard for you to have done (copy off of me). I think we're both obviously on the money in most of our projections. I want to think the Browns take a QB, but I just don't see it unless they're pulling a master deception tactic.

Got a strong feeling that with this win today ending up around 7 or 8 Ramsey might end up being our guy. Could go either way with him or vh3 but Ramsey seems more like he fits the Ravens mold with his gritty style- even though vh3 plays more off-man. But that could be irrelevant if pees is gone and a new scheme is implemented.

Yeah, while drafting lower in the first round of this draft isn't bad, it does kinda suck to pick lower in the 2nd, since there's less chance of a top guy falling to us. Granted, we still got Jernigan in the middle of the 2nd, so something like that could happen again.

And just curious, what specific technique issues have you seen on tape that makes you say that?

I'm loving a possible Treadwell pick after today, don't think Ramsey or VH3 make it to us. Let's see how next week goes before we start making pick predictions though, a lot can still change.

I dont like Treadwell too much...

rather get Ramsey/VH3.  One of them definately has to fall to us even if we are @ 7-9 pick

My bad I was thinking of Armstead wrong Duck DE and I assume by the avatar you have a good idea of what he can do

usually I agree with you on lost everything but I still like the 2nd round options at WR although I am not opposed to Treadwell I think he is the best WR in the draft I just think getting Boyd Thomas Doctson or even Cooper in the 3rd are good options I still think pass rush is the number 1 priority

Well if we're picking around 8-11 now, I wouldn't mind Buckner so long as he doesn't shoot up boards like I think he could.

I want VH3 or Ramsey(just because I think they're a bigger need), but if they're not available, DeFo is definitely my #3 realistic option. He has a relentless motor. He had better numbers than Leonard Williams had last year and it was in less games too. He definitely should be a top 10 pick. He's far better than Armstead so I just shake my head when I see mocks with him going in the late teens or twenties. In one mock he's an early 2nd rounder. Lol. Some team is going to get a monster in DeFo. I would be happy if it was Baltimore.

I don't care where or how high we pick. I'd rather tumble down the draft board a bit and put the Steelers in a position of mediocrity. Not too high on the draft board and not being able to compete for the Lombardi. The win yesterday put the Steelers in the worst possible spot. And the bragging rights that come with sweeping a division rival with a backup QB is priceless.

I looked at the schedule and a lot can still change with draft position. The Redskins are looking like they'll rest their players against Dallas, which could mean a win for Dallas and put us up the Draft order. Niners are playing a relatively hot Rams team, so that could go either way. The Dolphins play the Patriots in Miami, so we'll see how that goes with a team playing for nothing really. Jacksonville plays a hot Texans team, however, in Houston so that could very well be a loss. We'll have to see. The Titans play the Colts, however, in a game that could very well go their favor. They're both pretty bad this year.

Browns just played a close game against KC so they could also beat the Steelers.

There's still much in flux. I don't think we can get back up to #3 but I think #5 is possible and maybe we can stretch to #4. It all depends on us losing to the Bengals, which could go either way.

Cleveland beating the Steelers would be the funniest thing of the season.

I like buckner.... But man I hate the idea of a 5tech in the top 12...

I know what you mean, it's hard to look at guys that aren't really a need, but if we're picking later in the top ten it's definitely a possibility that Ramsey VH3 and even Stanley are gone. And I really think Buckner could end up being one of the best players in the draft. theres gonna be more than a few decent options with Jack and J Smith likely available and maybe Treadwell but I'm not a huge fan of his if we're inside the top ten.

Yeah a lot can play out which is why I'm waiting till the end of the season to do another mock. I think its too hard to predict exactly what will happen right now since we are so late into the season. Edited by PurpleCity5
