Where do we pick?

941 posts in this topic

I always root for the team to win. Studs come from everywhere in the draft. If you want to pick in the top 5 every year, root for the Cleveland Browns.

If studs come from everywhere in the draft the ravens sure have not been able to find'em.lol Besides we need a freaking stud left tackle to complete a dominating intimidating Oline. And thus spark the best offense in the nfl. And not many stud left tackles come later. Perhaps Stanley blows up the combine and interviews and gets drafted ahead of Tunsil. But I would settle Stanley. If Monroe were not a total scrub the Oline would be complete. A dominant Oline is essential to take full advantage of the modern rules and play offense like nobody has ever before!! And that begins with a mauling Oline that strikes fear in opponents!! It would be cool for opposing defensive players to take themselves out of the game because of being best up and mauled!! The way Vince Wilfork kept taking breaks when Kelechi Osemele was dominating and mauling him.

Aside from Tunsil and maybe Bosa, there aren't a lot of top end guys in this draft I really want. I'd be okay if the Ravens end up picking 8-10 this year. There's some good value there.

To have a terrible year like this and not get a stud player would be a waste. Figures ravens get #4 pick in a crappy draft!! There's great players then everybody else there's Superbowl winners and the rest of the losers.

Looks like we're getting VH3

I have this strange feeling that it doesn't happen.. Something tells me he tumbles down boards a bit and some other prospect flies up boards and its seen as a steal at 4th.. And in case you wanted specifics... I have none, just a hunch lol

There is no guarantee Tunsil is that guy or he is going to be better than Stanley in the long run.  There have been plenty of sure fire picks that busted.  You know that just as well as I do.

Alexander ?

Does anybody know when was the last time a team traded back twice in the same round? how wild would that be to come away with 3 second round picks ( which is where a lot of the value is in this draft ) and to end up somewhere in the teens and still grab a guy like ogbah or maybe even treadwell? Just a thought

I'm hoping the other prospect is Alexander. I'm betting he's going to really impress teams in the interview process, and more than hold his own at the combine.

so is San Diego officially ahead of us at 3 now? I'm trying to find some silver lining here but having a hard time.

There's no one worth taking at 3 anyway. Tunsil will likely be gone by 2. 4 is the perfect spot for us. Draft VH3 if we want to or trade back. Edited by Cillmatic

that's not necessarily true. There's a strong chance that bosa will be there if Cleveland takes lynch. My guess is bosa won't make it past 3. Whatever happens happens though I suppose.

No one worth taking at 3, but 4 is the perfect spot?  We're literally talking about a 1 spot difference here...

One hitch to the Ravens having a top 5 pick is the Bengals. If they beat the Broncos, then they're going to be locked in at the #2 seed. They won't have a need to beat the Ravens next week, and might rest their starters. The Ravens might win that game, bumping them down into the bottom end of the top 10.

Clevelands not taking Lynch. The front office practically forced Pettine to start Manziel and he's done a decent enough job. They won't give up on him now.

I wouldn't be too sure of that. Granted yes our secondary is horrible but we have to remember the fact we have good corner depth as it is. Sure a lot hinges on whether Webb will be here next year or not but if Webb does stay we got Jimmy, Webb, Arrington, Will Davis(he's got a couple years left on his contract) and Tray Walker. If anything I see us taking Tunsil if available or if he is gone, then Bosa will be a Raven.

yeah and they could be starting him to raise his stock as trade bait. You just don't know. And he could mess up again this offseason. One more slip up And they'll cut the cord for sure.

Will Davis is a non-factor, too injury prone.

I love how people think come things are set in stone when the season isn't even over. Draft spots aren't locked. Combine hasn't happened. Pro-days have not happened. No off season trades. I know there isn't anything else to do at the moment but to say anything is a lock is just plain... (fill in the blank). A month ago we thought Rnkem was a easy top ten pick.... Now some people think he's falling out of the first. Nothing is set till we hand in our draft card....

Really, they haven't been able to find them.  I'll give you a few examples.  Ray Lewis was the 26th pick, Ed Reed was the 24th pick.  Ngata and Suggs were outside of the top 10 as well.  Those are a couple examples.

Suggs and Ngata were both top 15 picks. Suggs going at ten and Ngata going at 12

where in the world did you read that we got Suggs and ngata at those picks? To be off by 150 picks is a little odd

I was on PFR, but I completely misread the number.  I had the number right but it was based off something else.  Anyway, the point is we have found studs outside of the  top 5 picks.

Ravens history with top 5 picks

J.O.

Peter Boulware

Jamal Lewis

All in ring of honor

I forgot we took a RB in the top 5. How crazy would that be nowadays? Edited by Cillmatic

Since we just won this game we a 2-6. The average maximum wins for top 5 picks is 4 wins. Since we're playing the Jaguars next game we'll likely be 3-6, close to losing our top 5 position and losing out on the only real good players of this draft. Because of this I figured we'd speculate. Where do you see us drafting?

12/26  Bro.... After we lose to Pittsburgh and Cincinnati we will pick 5-10. I hope we pick a guy who is an iron man.  We need a best reciever available, and corners....

They would have to be a stud like Fournette, different league back then

Recently!! KO is the biggest steal recently and he could walk. My opinion once he gets recognition he takes over as the best guard. And all around top 5 Oline player. Not to mention the most physically dominant. Larry Allen took several years to get his true recognition. I remember in 1999 most fans labeled Alan Faneca the best guard til ESPN began talking how physically dominant Allen was. And how well he played left tackle when he was moved there for a stretch. KO if left at tackle would be a top5. But he is so dominating playing the interior. I said in 2012 he was the best Olineman in the draft. And if he were left at tackle he would be better than Kalil by a landslide. My opinion KO will eventually see an all pro team!! And a $45 contract will look like a bargain. So there is one eventual all pro in last 5 drafts. And I do see Mosley in another as well as Jernigan.
