Where do we pick?

941 posts in this topic

Since we just won this game we a 2-6. The average maximum wins for top 5 picks is 4 wins. Since we're playing the Jaguars next game we'll likely be 3-6, close to losing our top 5 position and losing out on the only real good players of this draft. Because of this I figured we'd speculate. Where do you see us drafting?

Eh. As long as it's in the top ten I think we can still get a great player. This draft has good top end talent. I'd happily take a Tyler Boyd at ten.

But as of now.. 3 or four I think.

Also account for the fact that Cook, Hack, and Goff are all impressive.

I'll start it off by saying- ninth overall pick, losing out on Hargreaves, Bosa, Ramsey, and the LT's.

I think if we get that close and bosa falls to 4 or 5 we will trade up and grab him.

We will draft somewhere between 10-15, games will start to break our way so we should end up with around 6 or 7 wins by the end of the year.

we will draft 10-12,, WR or trade back and get that rb Elliott out of Ohio

A RB? Really? Why? That's literally as useless as DT on the list of our teams needs. Edited by Cillmatic

That's what I'm thinking too. We'll start to win more of those 50/50 games through the element of sheer luck alone (though it'll be tougher sledding from here without Sr). At a guess I say we go something like 6-10, maybe 5-11, which gets us in around the 8-12 range.

Looks like we might fall out of the top 5 which unfortunately takes us out of the Ramsey sweepstakes.

for the most part you are correct, but this kid is pretty good , I am not calling him gurly but he will go in the first.

offense,,, what we lack is an impact player,, a person that can make a difference,,

defense ,,,, we are injured and lack discipline and scheme ..that really is fixable

We don't need "pretty good" in the first round. Especially in a position as easy as RB. First round should be for drafting players that are needed.

DO we need impact players on offense, the answer is yes,

RB is a position you can get in the later round,, so when a person states another person is pretty good then it is safe to say they are good needed players, Elloitt will be drafted between 10 and 15,, that makes him pretty good or for you in laymans term

HE IS REALLY GOOD,,,

I still think the Ravens only win four games this season, and that's being generous. So I think they stay in the top 5. If I had to pick a spot, I'd say 3rd overall.

RB's just aren't worth first round picks to me. We have actual needs that need to be filled like WR, pass rusher and secondary.

Todd Gurley sure was.

elliott is no gurley, not even close.

No, he's not, but he's a really good RB all in his own right. Furthermore, whether or not he is Gurley isn't the question but the question is whether a RB is worth a 1st round pick.

I think we stick in the top 10.  I really hope it's closer to the 5 mark (not hoping we lose or anything) since I have 6 guys that I have as top notch talents… Bosa, Nkemdiche, Hargreaves, Ramsey, Stanley, Tunsil.  I like Jaylon Smith a ton as well but not as a fit for us.  I'd be ecstatic with any of those 6 at this point.

spending our first high pick in 8 years on a rb will be a blown draft, period. taking elliott with this first round pick would be an absolute failure, i dont care if he is the next barry sanders, it will be a horrible pick. not to mention elliott isnt even THAT good, hes extremely overrated if he is projected in the 10-15 range

I pretty much agree, although I'd throw in Ogbah, Doctson, and Boyd in there as well. They make up my top-9 players for us.

I'm liking Ogbah a lot as well but I have him in that next tier.  I'll admit that I haven't done much on Doctson or Boyd yet.  I'm behind on WR this year.

I think in today's pass happy NFL, Smith would be a good fit in any defense.

I have my worries about him taking on blockers in a 2 gap scheme. Regardless, I'm curious to see if we continue this 3 ILB experiment. I think he could be a fit in that set up.

I'd say a Gurley level runningback is worth a first round pick. But only an elite few should go in the first.

Yeah Gurley has been great, my only real concern with him was injury. Only RB I would take in the first who is in college right now is Fournette. Elliott I would be happy to take in the 2nd though.

At this point I'm not sure if 4 wins is optimistic or pessimistic. I guess it depends what our goals are lol.

But yeah, I think we beat the Chiefs, Jags, possibly Rams at home. We're looking at 4-5 wins, I think. I thought we would lose vs Chargers. If this win can surprise me, I think will probably be a couple more surprise wins.

Who is our main "competition" at this point? Jags, Chiefs, Lions, Titans, 49ers? I guess Chargers? Not sure what their SOS's are like. We play 2 of those teams, and already played 2 of them.

I think the Ravens could easily end up in the 10-15 range now that they have two straight homes games and then three straight home games.

I never thought the Ravens were as bad as 1-6 would lead you to believe, but they had a rough stretch.

Honestly, if they land at about 10, they better be taking Boyd or Doctson. Joe will then have "two" rookies for Joe to grow with

We'll end up picking between 12-20 if we keep winning. Amazing how we had the number one pick as of last weekend, now the win against the Chargers dropped us to picks 3-6 as we are in a 4 way tie at 2-6 with the Chargers, 49ers and Browns.
