The good, bad, and really sad, Week 8 edition

203 posts in this topic

First I wanna shout out SSS, hell of a career, sad to see him go, best WR we've ever had.

Only way we were able to be competitive in this game was because half the Chargers starters got hurt including their starting WR's. Not sure I wanted this win to be honest. I'm sure I'll get hate from people who will say we were good but what ever.

Don't see us winning another game with SSS out. Get well soon.

Aiken really stepped up with the loss of Steve Smith.  Givens had some nice plays as well.

I sincerely hope Steve Smith isn't hurt as badly as it seemed, but if that's the last I saw of him in a Ravens uniform, it's been a damn good journey.  The guy played his heart out here and I have immense respect for the guy.

people say so and so stepped up..but we played vs a practice squad unit for the chargers..

against any reasonably healthy team..this would have been another loss

Not going to say anything bad. They won a close game! It's all good as far as that goes, even though it wasn't.

Really sad: SSS :(

People have to lay off Kamar because him and Flacco were on point with those slants. Where was that all season?

SSS going down with what looks like an achilles injury is so heartbreaking. I don't think anyone can seriously ask him to play next year when he wants to be with his family and his body is beat up.

It's nice to win, but I honestly feel really underwhelmed. Between losing Sr and Zuttah and the Lions not looking likely to do us a favour and win any time soon, even a win feels bittersweet.

This season just sucks.

Alot of their injuries were on offense and their corners were still there so, yes Aiken did step up.

This season just sucks.

We should easily draft top 5, if not top 3. Do we really need that very first pick?

Poor SSR... Hell of a career. But we won. I don't care how we did it. We won. Good job us.

Now commence with the "We lost our top draft position, wah wah" talk.

I've said it before. Aiken is not a #1 or even a #2. But he's earned his spot on the team more than any other WR not named Smith on the roster.

I'll start:

RIP draft position.

Again was Marlon Brown even on the field?

The good: Flacco looked good with scrubs around him.

The bad: The defense looked awful with the chargers missing 2 of their top receivers and 2 of their o linemen. We also Probably ruined our top 10 pick for a meaningless win.

The sad: obviously, Steve Smith with a potential career ending injury.

And the good: Tucker's dancing.

I'll never get tired of seeing that no matter how ridiculous he might look

Still many headscratcher play calls on both offense and defense but we pulled it out in the end.

Cbs are still completely terrible in off coverage and pretty ok up at the line.

We had no real answer to stopping RB and TE passes to the middle of the field again.  Wide open all day.

Loved how we played defense when we had them deep in their own territory.  Almost reminded me of that scary Ravens D we used to know and love.  Everyone was fired up.  Everyone was aggressive.  Everyone did their job while maintaining that intensity.

We need to find a center quick.  It was scary every snap.

And to Steve Smith, it was a stellar career.  You deserve that HoF jacket.

In a medicore draft, yes, yes we do need the overall #1 pick. Plus consider Suggs is almost done, we need Bosa.

I can't be happy that we won because SSS is likely out for the season and Pees likely stays till the end of the season. That's a really bad combination.

i think we have seen the last snap of steve smiths career, very sad.

that said, flacco seems to play just fine without him, he is more willing to spread the ball around, he seems less int-prone, he doesnt have the same tunnel vision, we love to have him on the field and it is extremely sad to see him go down, but i think joe can handle things without a crutch of a WR to lean on. hes better spreading it around.

aiken is so hot and cold, sometimes i wonder if he actually is who he was being hyped up as in the offseason...

urschel needs to work on his snap game.

we desperately need a LT because monroe is worthless if hurst is playing in his place all the time.

we still desperately need a safety

if perriman lives up to first round status when he returns, then we may be ok at WR, aiken and givens are both catching fire and it would be nice to see them build upon that as 2 and 3.

Aiken has been playing under the radar all season imo, he deserves a bigger role.

Marlon and Waller have been underwhelming, Camp was flashy and brittle as always, need to see more from Givens and Ross.

Next years WR corps (imo):

Vet FA (Garcon, VJAX...)

High'ish draft pick (first three rounds or so)

Perriman

Aiken

2 of Givens, Ross, Camp and Waller
