[News] Ravens Offense Looking For More Chunk Plays

46 posts in this topic

I see no reason why we shouldn't employ Givens or Ross more than Brown at this point. Time to find out if we have anything in these guys. We need to go into next season not starting from ground zero on the WR position.

Hey Trestman...RUN THE DANG Ball.... And take more the 1 deep shot a game. Givens needs more action.. 4-5 deep shots a game minimum. And 4 freaking runs second half is unacceptable.

stop with the BS

we have two WRS that proved they're reliable factors.

plug givens and Ross in with Smith and watch the magic unfold!

how do i know this will work? because we do it when we are losing and it works, than we use marlon brown for God knows what for, and he does absolutely nothing!

LET GIVENS AND ROSS WORK PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Well Mark, if you have concerns then why don't you develop plays to get chunks of yards and it is up to the OC to identify his talent and adjust the game plan so the players you have will be successful. Trestman is trying to fit our square peg receivers into round holes and it doesn't work. Just a suggestion. On the first drive of the game and the first drive of the second half, lets not throw to Juszcyck like we have for the last 3 games. Don't you think when he got caught for a 6 yard loss they were on to that. What OC calls the same play to start each half in every game for the last 3 ganes. And we wonder with this play calling why we lose. The defense sucks, but the offense could have won these games. But the OC is so much of a genius and such a quarterback whisperer that he can't figure out that he is so predictable it looks like the opponents are in our huddles. The biggest problem with the Ravens is the biggest change they made last year, the OC.

His grab in the 4th was huge, and if not for a great play (or underthrown ball) he would have had a td. Get him more snaps. Easily our most explosive wr right now outside of smith

That's a good point. Why call the same play over and over to start games and halfs. Even the announcers had caught on, so it's no surprise the cards blew it up in the 2nd half

Tired of hearing run the ball...run the ball versus the Cards...Its hard to run the ball when they are blitzing the run...Justin ran for negative yards in the second half then we were down by 16 in the fourth... so its hard to run the football under those circumstances...so please stop listening to analyst... formulate opinions for yourself... there's a reason why they went to a pass happy approach...that's not the approach any team wants to take.. last year in the semi-finals no one questioned the Patriots for abandoning the run... if we won against the cards... the story would be the inconsistencies with the run game...you got to be able to adjust your game when one facet of your game struggles..that's what any good team will do.. so please allow these guys to do what they do..

More Chunk plays now that's funny because the next article posted is one with all the rookies playing on the offensive line. No wonder Joe plays the way he does.

In regards to Trestman... its hard to be you when you are handcuffed to plays that aren't your own... it's Kubiak's system with a few wrinkles... I am sorry but I will never be comfortable wearing someone's else's shoes... so I feel his pain..

"and the patriots keep on rolling " Look at the bright side by the time Ozzie and John get this tugboat turned around Brady will be 40 , Manning will be gone and that leaves Ben.

"D- thus far Trestman." You expected something different than what happened with the Bear? He was 8-8 in 2013 then 5-11 in 2014 stands to reason that he will be 2-14.

after the Super Bowl run, flacco had problems with his accuracy and under throwing receivers. its been a while since we've seen him under throw a receiver who's beaten the conerback. regardless, i don't understand why we haven't seen more of givens

Marlon brown sucks, face it. Why do they continue to let bums like him 'prove' himself when he's already had thousand of opportunities and chances to do so and has done nothing but disappoint. That being said, why hasn't Givens had more passes thrown his way, you got him to add speed and have a deep threat, and your not even using him? Joe needs to take at least one shot down the field to Givens on each drive. If Perriman was playing he would have been targeted hella times, so why hasn't the guy we traded for to replace him gotten as many targets as Perriman would've.

The Ravens have Givens, a pretty fast, good hands wide out. They decide to use him sparingly. Harbaugh decides to sit him down for Brown and Aiken. It wasn't his fault that Flacco under threw him. Flacco cannot consistently measure up to fast receivers. He threw short to Torry. Had to double back to catch it in coverage. I don't expect a Montana to Rice duo. I only want Flacco to be accurate on the long ones and why isn't Ross playing all game long. Outside of SSS, it's been hellish up to now.

This Is the exact thing Joe told Kubiak last year at the end right before they started kicking into gear and tearing it up. If he gets through to Trestman about this and they do start using Givens some more (and his comments suggest he is starting to understand that Joe will trust him if he is where he is supposed to be when he is supposed to be there). I think this is a good thing. Let's just see what happens Sunday. My only concern is that everyone seems to be picking us to win.

The Ravens coaches never cease to amaze me. When you want them to play Marlon Brown they are starting Jacoby Jones. When Jones flops you put Marlon in in spurts and then his development is stunted and his confidence is shot. We ask you to insert Givens-- you traded a draft pick for him for crying out loud! But no, you keep playing a clearly incapable Marlon Brown... That is the John Harbaugh era. Tell me one player that Harbaugh has developed; one player that will say Harbaugh built his confidence as a player. This is just stupid.

So maybe Givens & Ross can't get the playbook down. If they don't know the plays, they won't be on the field. And if they aren't better in practice than Brown or Aiken, then they won't play either. But why don't you let us know when you are at practice tomorrow if they know all the plays...oh wait...you AREN'T. Harbaugh has developed plenty of players - Ray Rice (heard of him?), Pernell McPhee, Dennis Pitta, Justin Forsett, Crocket Gillmorre, Torrey Smith, Paul Kruger, Art Jones, John Urschel, etc - All those guys were not highly rated going into the draft. But I guess they don't quite fit YOUR AGENDA.

Run for cover and point fingers is NOT what Ravens Nation is about.
