Suggs nowhere to be found?

66 posts in this topic

I believe Vince wilfork did?? Does anybody realize if the ravens did not trade up for Kyle Boller the ravens very well could have drafted Vince?? And if not for drafting Kyle Boller the ravens could very well of drafted Aaron Rodgers. And there were decision makers that wanted quite vigorously to pursue Drew Bree's over McNair. WOW, look what I am talking about!! the ravens do need some wins or fireworks. Come on ravens trade for a #1 WR and at least lose scoring points in exciting games.

Why just whyyyyy?

What the heck are we talking about here?. Even I'm lost.

I am amazed at how much animosity is coming forth over a few people JUST SAYING that although it is not his job, neccesary or mandatory that it'd be nice to see Suggs on the sideline encouraging his fellow team mates IF he could attend the games and CHOSE to do so.  He hasn't been there and some were wondering why not?  That's all!  Simple stuff to me that many are tryng to make complicated or deep when it is not!  So much for team spirit...damn!

I wouldn't want a guy on the sideline on crutches/in a boot. One false move, rupture the Achilles from getting rolled up on... Etc... NOPE.

Some people want to risk that for "team spirit".

With our luck if he was standing on the sideline a player would get tackled and his body would injure Suggs' other leg. j

Suggs is a participant.  He's working on doing the right thing by his surgery.

Hopefully he'll be back next year. Veterans have value even when they've lost a step.  Besides Suggs never had much of a step anyway.

I'm clueless as to why people don't think it is odd that he has not been around the team, or even made contact with anyone. This was the guy that was supposed to be the leader of the defense. Seems bizarre.

I'm perplexed by this thread. I sincerely hope and want the best for Terrell Suggs but in case anyone forgot this is the second achilles tear for him. IMO his long and illustrious career is over. Anyways unsubstantiated reports are he gained 20 lbs and may be mulling over retirement. Either way all the things wrong with our defense won't be fixed if Suggs comes back. Fuggettabboutit

I didn't read the article but the fact people think having him on the sidelines would help is absurd.  If he wasn't at the practice facility watching tape with guys and helping there while rehabbing then I'd be a little disappointed.  But not on the bench on Sundays?  Come on.

He hasn't been, but that doesn't exactly surprise me.  Suggs has always been one that kind of works out and trains on his own.

You didn't know?  It's absurd for you to even "wonder" where Suggs has been or to even want to see him.  The nerve of you!

We don't need a sideline cheerleader, we need players to take the initiative and not come out every week like they expect to lose and hope for a handout from their opponent like against Pittsburgh.

Yes he has and that won't change at 34.  I don't really care if he's not there during the week to be honest.  At 34 he is what he is.

Yeah we don't need anyone trying to come on the sidelines and encourage their fellow team mates during their losing season.  That's just insane.

Suggs giving sideline encouragement isn't going to be the difference between winning and losing games, I'm not saying he shouldn't be helping out with the players but my point is it's just not that big of a deal. I don't care if Suggs, Tony Robbins, and the ghost of Vince Lombardi are giving encouragement on the sidelines, we would still be 1-6 at the end of the day.

Not sure you've got a lead on Suggs, but you're certainly right about that other guy here.

its good entertainment, you just completely derail threads.  Going from suggs not being on the sidelines to we passed up aaron rodgers.  so did 23 other teams...but whatever floats your boat.

Entertainment?? lol ok

Where was Flacco during the off-season when he should have been working out with his receivers?  Oh, I know he was "Missing in Action" as expected. About 4 months of football and 5 to 7 months of doing absolutely nothing for the city of Baltimore or its fans.

Again, this is not that deep or serious man!  Unlike some here, I see absolutely nothing wrong with Suggs making an appearance on the sidelines.  If he chooses not to...cool!  But there is nothing wrong with people merely wondering where he has been.

My first thought of "where is Suggs?" actually came during the Steelers' game as I watched Ben with the offensive players on the sidelines. I thought "Now, what would it mean for Suggs to be doing that with some of these youngsters on defense?"

All injuries are different and we truly don't know his personal situation. It is quite possible the risk is just too great. I don't hold it against him, but I do wonder the effect it could have had on the young guys.

The nerve of Big Ben showing up on the sidelines to be with his teammates while he is recovering from an injury.  Don't he know that's not his job?  Don't he know that's what the coaching staff is for?  He could have gotten his foot rolled upon and risked another injury!  Don't want that!  And, if our young players need Suggs to come on the sidelines to effect them in some kind of way then the Ravens are in serious trouble already!

Because hes recovering from a nasty season ending injury...I'm glad hes not out there hobbling around all sore.

Motivational speaking only goes so far anyways... But I'm sure we'll see Suggs goofing off on the sidelines later on this season.

There's lots of good or great quarterbacks that don't work out with their receivers at all. and  I think Flacco has charity events in Baltimore at times but not sure.

On topic to Terrell Suggs I thought he would be on the sideline to help encourage his team but the man does have a life and injury to recover from. The idea of encouraging his teammates especially since he can't play at all this year probably isn't on his mind right now. The guy is a father of two  and I think one of  his family members is sick in the hospital as well.

From our own site:

Suggs was immobilized for at least six weeks after his surgery, which means he wouldn’t have been able to move until about now, even if he had surgery immediately after the Sept. 13 game in Denver.
