Mock Draft Simulation

260 posts in this topic

I used the CBS rankings for a 4 round mock and I like what I see. What do you think? With this draft we cover our OLB needs for years to come well past Suggs' and Doom's retirement. Shephard gives us that SSR type receiver for the next few years and Buckner simply adds a ton of pass rush and run stopping ability to our front 3. Cyrus Jones is one of the more underrated DBs in this draft imo.

Awesome but hardly realistic

I think picks 2 and 3 go round higher and 4 and 5 2 rounds

Possibly, but only time and the combine will tell us for sure. But, if it happens I'll be tickled!

@ellicottraven

If the Ravens pulled off getting Buckner, Spence, and Shepard in the first three picks it would be one of our greatest drafts since 96. I think it's possible for Shepard to be there, but Spence would be the real shocking one.

upset I couldn't address the pass rush til late, but love being able to lock down both ILB spots with Bama boys that can run a defense for years to come. Maybe the best overall player in the draft in Ramsey, and would hope at least one of the WRs pans out.

Plus a CB with upside that can be our returner day 1.

Id be happy with this. Well I hope so since I did it.

I find CBS's rankings to be the only one of the bunch that offers me a realistic mock. Others have 2nd round players going in the top-5 or Stanley #1 overall.

Fan speaks rankings, Kinda like how this one worked out.....But OLB would have to be addressed in FA with this draft.

Mental note: It seems good to wait on a CB & WR in this simulator Good WR's are available in rounds 3-4, As well as potential CB's in round 4. Doing it again, I'd probably take an OLB in round2, OT fly off the board much sooner than I think is reality. Ideally Jason Spriggs is available round 2.

I also would like to see the Ravens pick potential at the OL positions with later picks if Spriggs isn't available (he really is a great fit for a Zone scheme in my opinion).

Just did a simulated draft at drafttek.com and it went very well, wish it would happen but I doubt it will:

1(6)- Jalen Ramsey S

2(5)- Noah Spence OLB

Using the latest Drafttek board on Fanspeak. My first couple of picks might be unrealistic - I don't think Ramsey will make it to 6, and Smith in the second? Who knows ... Maybe he's avoided because of potential risk. BUT, both were there. I personally think Smith is worth the risk, aslong as training staff take their time bringing him up to speed.

I appreciate the need for pass rush, but I would try address ILB cover within the first few picks with Daryl Smith clocking out in the near future.

Wow, the first three picks there are guys that are likely to go in the 1st round. Possibly first four if Henry manages to sneak into the late 1st.

Nice one... I have Carroo going higher. floyd will be a 1st round pick imo. shepard in the 3rd is a GREAT PICK . If spence  can slide to the 2nd thats  very possible with his shaky interviews at the combine.  there are some quality free agents cb availalbe I think the Ravens will try to get one maybe janoris jenkins because the board will not fall so well for them to draft a CB.  at 6 its a bit of a reach because they have a chance to pick a top 4 talent and 2nd round.. well they might be all gone.

Started with the Boring OT pick at 6. Don't like the way I feel as though behind teh eight ball after that the rest of the draft. Definitely think that taking an OT that early is not a good idea.
I then took a stab at a falling Jaylon Smith in the 3rd.....Coulda selected Sterling Sharp there....Not overly excited about Rashard Higgins in the 4th who feels like a newer version of (David Reed.Tandon Doss).
I would of liked a DT in the 4th But Chris Jones/Maliek Collins/Adam Gotsis (kinda fixated on those 3) were all gone in the 3rd after the injured Jaylon Smith was selected.

So what did we learn here?
Don't fall into the OT early trap, and Jaylon Smith is probably a better choice for a different team willing to wait a year or more...

Not sure this could have worked out better in the early rounds.  I'm not even the biggest Derrick Henry fan, but he'd be a no brainer in the 4th.

So I decided to do an On The Clock draft simulation. This is what I got:

Round 1: Jalen Ramsey

Round 2: Robert Nkemdiche

Round 3: Su'a Cravens

Round 4: Cyrus Jones

Round 4: Tajae Sharpe

Round 4: Caleb Benenoch

Round 4: Pharoh Cooper

Round 5: Anthony Zettel

Round 6: Wendell Smallwood

So what do you guys think? How would you like this draft?
