Mock Draft Simulation

260 posts in this topic

Over on Fanspeak there's one in a million opportunity to draft for Ravens with #1 pick:

http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/

Way too early but I'm guessing it's a short window, worth a try.

My 3 rounds:

1: R1P1
OT RONNIE STANLEY
NOTRE DAME
32: R2P1
OLB DARRON LEE
OHIO STATE
64: R3P1
WR RASHARD HIGGINS
COLORADO STATE

Ronnie Stanley has a lead....

...until Bosa bandwagon wrecks the party.

Yeah I think we should just enjoy the lead while it lasts. :P

As far as the guys at the end of the simulator, Carl Nassib is the only name that matters

i still am tentative between bosa and stanley, but i just think i gotta go with bosa.. so...

1: R1P1

DE JOEY BOSA
OHIO STATE
32: R2P1

OLB MYLES JACK

64: R3P1

WR JOSH DOCTSON

96: R4P1

WR TRAVIN DURAL

123: R4P28

WR DE'RUNNYA WILSON
MISSISSIPPI STATE
158: R6P1

CB CYRUS JONES
ALABAMA
193: R7P4

QB TREVONE BOYKIN
TCU

every pick until the 7th was pure BPA, and when i took a 3rd WR in a row its because the top 6 prospects were WRs so i just took the top one. jack in the 2nd round is too hard to pass up, doctson has a 0% chance of lasting til the 3rd barring a devastating season, and boykin is a fun pick, hes worth a 7th round flyer when considering our current backup.

Not gonna lie, I didn't even see Nassib there. I just thought Floyd, Lawson and then Dural were WAY too good to pass up at their respective points (ie, no chance they're there during the real thing) and just assumed Nassib had been taken by that point.

BPA's the way to go. Just gotta look for the guys who have no business being there - and in the simulator there's usually a lot of them. :P

my 2nd 3rd and 4th picks are all that case lol, and that would be a dream draft even if we draft 3 consecutive wr's and 2 players for the front seven in the first 2 rounds lol

I think Nassib is rated 160 something on fanspeak and 250 something on CBS. Or maybe it's the other way around

Lol, you think?

I just don't get it. How can they make it this bad? I guess they use a random generator, but come on now. Some of these picks are crazy.

These games are horribly inaccurate.

You mean we're not going to end up with Leonard Floyd, Shaq Lawson and Travin Dural? :(

It's early on but why not. Only did 3 rounds since I haven't looked much into this year's class beyond the projected first three round players.

It's good for some procrastinating, but that's about all. I mean, getting guys like Myles Jack, Jaylon Smith, and/or Leonard Floyd in the 2nd just isn't realistic to me. I'm just going to keep selecting the same players every mock because I value them much more than the draft rankings do.

I think mine went Tunsil/Jack/Dural

I appreciate the post though; I end up avoiding several hours of work every year because of this :D

hargreaves first overall? thank god you arent making that call..

I honestly made that pick thinking that we would trade back in real life to like pick #10, but since I can't trade I just chose him #1. I would probably choose Boss #1 in a real draft.

ahh gotcha, that makes more sense lol. im in the same boat though, i just cannot envision a scenario where ozzie doesnt take the kings ransom, no matter how good bosa/nkemdiche/stanley may be, they arent worth 3 firsts and 3 seconds over the next 2 years lol. although if we trade back out of the top 7, i find it hard to believe hargreaves will be there, if we go back to 10 like you suggest, i think treadwell or leonard floyd becomes our top targets.

DEFINITELY don't want Likely, especially in the 4th, we don't need a 5'7 CB. He'll be UFA.

I doubt our draft will end up like this, but if it does I will be ecstatic. All our needs AND Bpa at every pick.
