The new kickoff rules eliminated the need for players like Jacoby Jones, especially when they have hands problems. We talk about how the kickoff rules affect the kickers but we never discuss that we have virtually eliminated a position of superstars like Brian Mitchell, Devin Hestor, Gayle Sayers, Billy "white shoes" Johnson, etc... Some of those players like Brian Mitchell, Jacoby Jones, Devin Hestor maybe would have never had an NFL career without kickoffs.
