Week 8 Discussion (Other Teams)

212 posts in this topic

The Halfway point of the NFL season is officially here. So far, the level of play within the NFL is just downright horrible. It seems every week the games seem like they are missing something. Hopefully the second half of the season we can see the type of games we are used to seeing as we get closer to the playoffs.

Key Games:

Dolphins @ P*triots: This would usually be the part where I say, another easy victory for the P*triots, easy 6 wins playing in the AFC East, etc. If only the Dolphins still hadn't fired Joe Philbin, then maybe so. Dan Campbell has had the Dolphins playing inspired football since taking over the team and this is my upset of the week. Dolphins hand the P*triots their first loss of the season.

Titans @ Texans/Colts @ Panthers: Someone just take the AFC South behind the barn and put it out of its misery. We are truly looking at a 5-7 win division champion. Titans should beat the Texans and the Colts are no match for the Panthers. the Jaguars are the winners as they are on a Bye week.

Jets @ Raiders: If you thought this game could have wild card implications before the season, raise your hand. The 4-2 Jets travel to Oakland to play the 3-3 Raiders. Jets are holding to the fifth seed as the young upstart Raiders are looking for a playoff spot.

Giants @ Saints: Have the Saints found their mojo? Are the Saints going to turn it around and make a run as a NFC Wildcard? Giants look to maintain their lead in the NFC East.

Seahawks @ Cowboys: Still no Tony Romo, they could get Dez Bryant back, and Cassel looked decent against the Giants. Dallas might be able to pull it off against an underachieving Seahawks team.

Bengals @ Steelers: Big Ben practiced in full but there is still doubt about his status for Sunday. If Ben misses this one, expect the Bengals to catch another break and remain undefeated.

Packers @ Broncos: Peyton Manning is old and it's showing. The Broncos D has carried Peyton on their back for 8 weeks now, and will need to do so again against a red hot Aaron Rodgers. Can the Denver defense slow down Rodgers enough for old man Manning to put up enough points to remain undefeated?

I think the Phins beat the Pats in Miami, but in New England? No.

The only AFCE team that's usually even competitive in NE is the Jets.

I will be very surprised if Miami doesn't get wiped out tonight. I still like what the jets are doing.

Well that is not going to help you beat the Pats is it Tannehill? Pats lead 9 to 0 after getting their first safety since 2012.

I have to be honest. Why is it that every team in the NFL except the Ravens seems to just lay down for these guys? Geez. Dolphins scored at will last week and come out and play like garbage tonight. I hate the Cheatriots.

Nobody else hates them like we do.

Only the Ravens, Jets, and Giants aren't afraid of the Pats.

Everyone else is scared for whatever reason. It's annoying.

Agree, Two NY teams and the Ravens punch them in the mouth, even if they lose the game. I hate how our guys crawl under a rock when we play them. I blame Tomlin. I think he is mostly a good coach but has a couple weaknesses, the Pukes are one of them.

To be fair, if not for Scobee and DHB, you all could've easily won that first game. And Bell didn't even play.

We love the hate from them. We embrace it.

What a bleak game. I wasn't expecting this to be a blockbuster, but I was hoping the Dolphins would at least put up more fight than this.

Ya, but 3-8 since 2002.

Ravens record against them is like 3-8 or 3-9 against them overall, though a more respectable 3-5 in the Harbaugh era (with only two of those games being in Baltimore).

And 2-2 in the postseason, with all four games being in the wretched hive of scum and villainy.

And it really oughta be 3-1 at WORST if not for...well...you know.

Take your pick between either of those losses.

The most recent one was tough but with the way the secondary had been playing all year I can't say we should've won it.

But 2011 was just unforgivable. That game was OVER.

And look what happened after we got rid of the two perpetrators.

The Patriots could very well go undefeated this year, only teams left capable of putting up a fight are the Bills, Jets, Giants, and Broncos. The rest of their schedule is pretty cakey.
