[News] Ravens Place Rookie Receiver Darren Waller On Injured Reserve

58 posts in this topic

No kidding....why in the world are they keeping him on the roster. Why even risk it now. What's their plan?? Play him week 14 and get him hurt again???  Shelf him for the season and try a do over next year.

There's a great reason Perriman isn't going to be IR'd unless he's done for the season. It's simple, they need to see what the kid can do, so they can go into the draft with a proper evaluation of talent.

The difference between spending another first round pick on a WR and a pass rusher/cb could be the difference in winning for the next 2-4 years.

He'll play, or he'll be IR'd after the bye. Let's hope he plays.

Wesley may be actually seeing playing time... MONROE seems to be working harder to be out then in the game and Hurst is the main guy but Wesleys size makes him intriguing??? Injuries are contagious in a losing season! SMH

It seems that with Ross and Givens showing some promise they can get our future project Waller off of the field and in safe keeping. If he hits the practice squad he's good as gone. He's had a taste live game action so he has something to build on. He wasn't supposed to thrown to wolves so early anyway. Why Perriman is still active is beyond me.

Maybe if he doesn't play this year they'd double dip on the position more readily. If they can't gauge his effectiveness maybe that would shake up that comfort zone we as fans have taken notice of.

The Ravens clearly are making space to move players up from the practice squad to see what they have for next year. What it looks like to me is this year is the last year Monroe will be in Baltimore. His pass blocking over the last two years has been horrible, he can't stay or doesn't want to stay on the field for the Ravens, and Wesley will let us know if we can ditch him and have a reasonable back up to the first round left tackle we may have to get early in the draft next year. I read Jeremy Butler, of OTA and training camp fame, was promoted last week and with the luck we are having with Aiken and Brown, why not give him playing time.

Ravens need to try everyone out as long as it does not cost more money. Were in the rebuilding phase which does not bold well the way we draft.

Seems to me the Ravens still think of winning games THIS season folks. Nine games to play yet and at least they are not giving up winning THIS season. They are trying every player on the roster in hopes of getting that win. I give them credit for that. Go Ravens.

I'm starting to wonder if I and maybe a few others on here should try out for the team.

The difference between spending another first round pick on a WR

Yeah....let's do that again. It's bound to work sooner or later.

why is it so hard to develop WRs in B-more?

LOL, first we need to get them on the field (Perriman), then keep them there (Campanaro)! GO RAVENS!

Sadly, we are not the only team with major injuries. Something that we have seen more of in the past few years. I feel as though the shortened off-season conditioning program has a lot to do with it. More practices in pads would help to toughen them up.

Trade Monroe and Webb, they're nothing but liabilities

You know there is a thing called the cap right? And if you think Monroe is a liability then you aren't going to like Hurst

why is it so hard to develop WRs in B-more?

Because we usually draft WRs on day 3 of the draft (if they are even drafted), meaning they need a lot more development and will often fail in that regard.

Time to activate Daniel brown. No reason they shouldn't. Inexpierenced is no excuse. He'll learn on the field. Let Daniel play!!!!!

Agreed, he looked good in preseason, and now he'd want to prove himself.  Get him up from the practice squad.

Three receivers they drafted this year, including a 1st and 2nd rounder have combined for 126 yards. Amazing. I guess some things just don't work out. However, for the GOOD news. According to some fact finding source reported on WBAL this morning, they are the best 1-6 team in NFL history. So they got that going for them.

Where's Daniel Brown....we need more clutch catches. Steve can't do it all. Brown along with Gilmore, Boyle, and Smith will bring more play making and heart to our Offense. Just sayin'

yeah, nothing says playmaking ability like 3 catches against terrible players.

I expect huge things from De'Ondre Wesley at 6"7" 326, Why so late? He may be raw, but sooner on the field than later. Just maybe we could have used this guy last week and the week before last and the....

Put Perriman on IR and hope the fans forget he was drafted. The front office has to immprove its drafting especially in the early rounds.
