[News] Late For Work 10/28: NFL Admits Refs Made Mistake, Explains How

112 posts in this topic

Everyone watching knew the refs made a mistake EXCEPT for the refs.  Is the NFL gonna admit the mistake about CJ's forward progress beng stopped?  No, b/c they said it was a judgement call.  Officiating this year has just been horrible and teams are losing games behind it.  The NFL really needs to crack down on officiating blunders that impact the game.

Well, that's because it is a judgment call. By definition, nobody can say with any sort of certainty whether forward progress was stopped or not.

Keep screwing us refs ... just get it all out of your system this year.

That will give us the best of both worlds. We can still strive to perform well, see what individuals are earning themselves spots on this team next year and the refs can cost us wins, giving us a better draft pick.

Thanks guys!

How in the H-E Double Hockey Sticks did he not see him? He's looking straight at him. Was the Ref wearing Google Glasses? John Urschel even looked at the Ref to make sure he saw him. What else could Urschel have done besides touch the guy? I can see it now, next week John Urschel will touch the Ref to say im an eligible receiver, Ref throws a flag for Urschel making contact with the ref smh

What I think some people are not understanding is that there are multiple problems at multiple positions on our team. This is not going to be a easy or quick fix. The problems are deeper than getting a speedy receiver or a corner, or a pass rusher. Those things will help but we need more than that. It's reality check time.

Go Ravens.

I don't blame the refs on the Chris Johnson run. As a player you should know to play to the whistle. Why weren't any Ravens tackling CJ after he was brought down? Why should Brandon Will. be the only one to tackle him? Overall, I feel that the D has lost its swagger. We are playing like wussies.

Ozzie and DeCosta find a way to get rid of Monroe, and webb this offseason. We need a dc because the confidence is our playmakers on defense is dying we need to avoid that so it wont affect us next season. I just hope with the dead money that is coming off our cap space, Joe reconstruction, Monroe/web gone we can get some playmakers. Finally they must find a way to get Perriman before this season is over because we need to see what we got in him. Like Odell he played some games last season adjusted well and is balling out. On another note get a good WR scout or have decosta draft wr's cause ozzie is absolutely terrible when coming to draft wr.

Our lb coach should be our DC, you see the respect Ray has for him, and he has been around here long enough to know what we expect out of our defense. If not him Jim Shwartz.

Why do we keep putting Upshaw and Daryl Smith on man coverage or zone coverage two of the slowest players and unaware players we have on defense when it comes to covering

If anyone else would have came in an touched him let alone tackle him it would have been called unnecessary roughness. The forward progress was stopped. That was just a horrible call by the ref.

I  believe that if someone or lb came flying in for the hit a flag would've been thrown for a late hit. The swagger was going away after the super bowl season with the bend but don't break attitude.

Also if you noticed, Flacco is also pointing to Urschel while looking at the Ref. Flacco started pointing before he approached the huddle.SMH

Great news/ we were right the refs screwed up. The fans should call the game instead of the idiots. Now we find out that officials do not get penalized which we all knew anyway. So bad officiating will continue. It did not impact the game. Are you kidding me? From a possible TD

to a field goal. Oh well/ At some point people are going to stop watching this crap and fans

may stop going to games/

I still can't believe after we all clamored for Stephon Diggs in the 4th round the Ravens let him get to the Vikings in the 5th. Oh well, our search for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th receivers continues... Life of a Ravens fan.

NFL needs to back off some of the "rules" so the refs can keep up during the game. Giving these zebras so many choices in a game is confusion on steroids. Pretty soon games will need to have a judge and jury set up on the sidelines to determine the outcome of games. The sport is fast leaving pro-football and being replaced by the referee side-show.

every team sees what we the fans see with these overpaid often injured players. doubt we can trade them unless we cover part of the contract.

Hey, look at the bright side. Maybe this ref gets the Super Bowl and screws the Pats. Just dreaming

I guess. I know that would never, never happen.

I know this will get deleted but the nation does not view Baltimore in a good light. Moving from Cleavland, Art Model not in HOF and the "incident" last year.

How about the great play Darren Waller made on Special Teams pinning the Cardinals on their own 2 yard line. That was a great play not being mentioned.

So I`m supposed to take the word of a man(Blandino) who explains NFL referee miscues while holding a play station remote in his hand?

NFL officiating is suspect and they have lost integrity. Whether they are incompetent or blatantly biased (paid off?), NFL needs to investigate and correct the problem.

Ravens are going to have at least two bad seasons because they have to rebuild, bad management of the salary cap and dead money. Look at the bright side, Brady will be 40 and Ravens could rule the AFC. If Ravens plan right. Future does look bright in the long run.
