[News] Coaching Headsets Went Out On Ravens' Final Drive

34 posts in this topic

Forget the headsets. Did anyone notice how confused the defense was throughout the game? At one point they were so confused that a timeout had to be called.

It does not explain why when falling backwards Joe keeps throwing up floaters for any defensive back to grab.

Well if he didn't have to throw to a spot before the guy comes open due to pressure. Joe might not throw off his back foot did you see the play where joe got away from four cardinals then hit smith.

Footwork Joe Footwork !

I haven't watched the replay yet, but it looked like the back that intercepted it, pushed off on Crockett.

So your saying that you learned NOTHING from playing the New England Patriots? I watch a lot of football teams and when I watch the Ravens I come away with a feeling that this is the DUMBEST team and has been going on since 2013. Example you push a player in the back when your team has called for a fair catch? You don't play to the whistle? Grandmothers know you should not throw off your back foot but you still do? Dumb.

No excuses. We are 7 games in. We are supposedly focusing on finishing games and finishing drives in practice since this has been plaguing us all season. There is no excuse for not being prepared and not being able to execute in these moments. I don't care if the headsets went out, the lights went out, or there was a full lunar eclipse while Venus was rising, it doesn't matter. Joe, take control, call a play, read the D, make an adjustment, and score. Period. That's what professional football players get paid to do.

10 Billion dollar company and they can't fix communication problems? Come on Man! Bills complained about the same thing Sunday. They really should be better by now considering this wasn't the first time Ravens have had communication problems. Where was plan B?

Looks like we're copying the Pats/ Packers/ Seahawks/ Broncos with trick plays- too bad we can't copy them when it comes to the draft/ free agent moves- I could never see them being 1-6. Something hasn't been working for years, so it might be time for a change if you know what I'm saying.

When was the last time we saw a crisp Joe? Not in 2015 for sure ah that's right preseason First drive against the Saints.

Cameron, Caldwell, Kubiak, Trestmann...... 4 OC's in 4 years....

Boldin, Smith, Jones, Rice, Pitta,.....  Every one of these guys is gone....

An O-line that is ALWAYS banged up and substituting players...  One of the most pressured QB's in the league...

All stated by the analysts last night.

Even ESPN is smarter than most fans when they ask the question... I mean you wouldn't ask this of Manning, Brady, Brees, or any other QB in the league.  "What do you expect from this guy?"

I'm sorry, call me a homer if you like...  but it's ridiculous to believe that he should be good right now.

Glad I was fortunate to watch Johnny U who had his headset between his ears. As he once told coach Don McCafferty..."Just sit back and watch, I'll do the rest." If the headsets go out and time is running out let Flacco call the play. Seems logical for a QB thats making millions or at least plan for a situation like this.

Aren't we all supposed to be Homers?? The other Qb's mentioned has had 1 thing that Flacco has not had---consistency in  the Offensive Coordinator position. 4 in 4 years sucks. Most do a good job then leave for a Head Coaching gig. Hard to make them stay.

Mentioning Johnny U. and Flacco in the same post should be against some law.....somewhere. Flacco couldn't carry his water bottle.

Even Tirico was calling the plays. Are they serious 3 and 2 in a 2 minute drill and they throw a pass -3 yards behind the LOS? Luckily the Cards were stupid and didnt stop the clock.

So get a head coach that's good with offense so even if the coordinator leave the consistency stays, uh duh

Problem with that is the person you are referring to is usually part of the "team" that the O-Coordinator takes with him. Duh!

No one took Harbaugh with them, so the person I'm referring to is still here the head coach uh duh again, get a new head coach that knows offense, Harbaugh don't, he can't help Flacco one bit

And that's not even close to being a smart move.....  We knew when we brought Kubiak in that he wasn't going to stay.  We should have had him sign a 2 or 3 year contract. It should have been a stipulation of his contract.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. You know Kubiak is going to leave so you set back the Ravens team and Joe comfort level another year by having to change again the OC.

Ummmm .... Flacco is an 8 year veteran....A franchise QB.... A SuperBowl MVP...one of the all time wins leaders in the post season! When communication goes out and things get hectic... take it over. Call you own stuff... run YOUR offense! That's why we pay you $120Million dollars.... Joe needs to be that leader and be trusted as that leader... He should never be saying... well we weren't sure of the play calling (with the game on the line) OWN IT JOE! Take the reins!
