Seen Enough Of Marlon Brown

112 posts in this topic

His career with the Ravens started out very well in 2013.  Last season he barely averaged 2 passes a game & the same this season.  He doesn't even have a game this season where he has surpassed 30yds receiving.  Since the season is lost, lets take a look at some of the other receivers we have put on the roster.  Butler had a fine preseason as did Waller.  Chris Givens should be given a start.  He had a few steps on his defender but the TD pass was underthrown by Flacko.

Jeremy Butler > Marlon Brown

Yeah, I would make Marlon inactive next week and see what Butler can do. Marlon doesn't even play STs, so it's not like we're losing anything without him. Marlon had his chances, and he didn't take advantage. At least we know...

Marlon plays ST's. But I've seen enough of him on the Ravens anyways.

Give Waller his snaps, Marlon is a 6'5 WR who plays like he's 5'10..Marlon might be out of the NFL after this season, that's how bad our WR situation is.

Assuming Waller can stay on the field. He was hurt again in the second half tonight.

Give the waterboy Marlon's snaps then, I bet he can replace his role of not getting open and dropping the few passes that do come his way.

Both were hurt. Waller went out in the 2nd quarter, I believe. They didn't say much about it.

I thought this exact thing last night. I saw him running a route on the outside and I just thought to myself, boy is route running isn't very crisp, he's not fast, quick or eluvise before or after the catch, not reliable enough to be a possession WR.

Outside of the occasional good catch ( that makes some people start with that marlontron stuff lmbo ) there isn't much there to praise. Maybe if Marlon could have had more time playing alongside Boldin then perhaps he could have learned how to better position his body while running routes and catching to make up for lack of speed, but Boldin is a fiery competitor similar to Steve Smith Sr. that's something that can't be taught.

The Marlontron nickname...LMAO

Lol that's why I threw it out there. I always thought it was funny how quickly people created him a nickname and one that could never be lived up too. Then during game day feeds. He makes his one nice catch in game every other game and then it starts.

MarlonTron... marlontron.... It may be the exact same people that any time Aiken makes a good play ( they go see I told you he's Boldin 2.0 lol ). If either of those guys were even half of what their nicknames suggest, then Joe would have some legit targets.

if you have seen enough of Marlon brown,,,

I have to ask what about Eugene Monroe,,,,,,

Unfortunately his cap hit is prohibitive, he's not going anywhere.

Dude is soft as a pillow.

I have seen enough of both guys TBH.  Monroe is going to be hard to move but the Ravens should evaluate their situation with him this offseason.  Monroe plays well when he is healthy, but he has not be healthy the past 2 seasons.  I think we should move on from him and try and find a cheaper replacement either in F/A or the draft.  Marlon Brown should be cut during the bye week, he offers nothing to this team and only takes reps from guys that should get more of them like Waller, Butler, Givens and Ross.  Time for both guys to pack their bags, unfortunately it will be harder to move on from Monroe

I thought that was Tray Walker that was hurt, not Waller.

It was Tray Walker who got hurt.  But Waller did play.  He was the one who assisted downing the ball on the 1yd line on Koch's punt.

Both Walker and Waller were hurt on special teams. Waller played in the first half and was primarily responsible for the Sam Koch punt downed on the 1-yard line.

Waller was definitely the first guy to save the punt from going into the endzone on the play where they downed it at the 1.  I remember thinking to myself, "wow, for a 6'6 240 guy, he had some body control and a good sense of where his feet where to save that ball.  It'd be nice if they actually gave him targets on offense"
