The Good, the bad and the ugly vs Cardinals

cap room.

there are better corners..prince amukamara better than jimmy for instance.

So, your contingency plan is a corner who isn't a free agent yet and possibly won't be since the Giants have a lot of say in it? Not to mention you're talking about Jimmy's injuries, but fail to mention he's missed 22 games so far, and likely one to two more, in five years. Interesting approach and a big reason you're not a GM.

4 games without a defensive takeaway...longest streak in franchise history.

I repeat...we went the entire month of October without forcing a turnover.

Yes and that's bad but can't really be mad at the defense tonight. They played.

The good: there was a Marlon Brown sighting..

The bad: there was a Marlon Brown sighting...

The ugly: the refs, they should have put on Cardinal jerseys...

No doubt, but it's a bad streak.

Hypocrisy at it's finest.

Jimmy has been largely hot and cold. But at least has flashed.

So, it isn't our year. We're so close to being good I can smell it. So can others. We're missing pieces. Another pass rusher to go with Doom. Another ILB to pair with CJ. Another outside corner to eventually replace Webb. A FS. And another playmaker on offense. Honestly, a few of these things are not too hard to find. ILB is easy. We can go get an CB like Trumaine Johnson via FA...

Now that WR, Pass Rusher, and FS thing.. Yeah that's different. That's what scares me.

Hard to force a turnover when you have no pass rush, that's really what it comes down to. That's where turnovers are created, you get pressure on the QB and you get strip sacks and you rush his reads and make him force a ball into coverage he otherwise wouldn't have thrown. NFL QB's are too good with a clean pocket, losing McPhee AND Suggs crippled our pass rush and really our entire defense.

Our defense hasn't been built to provide turnovers since 2011.

Refs were the worst part of this game . Bad call on Urschel shifted the momentum of that drive. I am still not convinced Boyle fumbled but we'll never know because we never got a proper angle on it. Calling the hook on Webb but letting the bear hug hold by Cardinals go. They just had their hand way too much in this game.

Defense played ok!  The offense disappeared on us in the second half and then woke up...on cue....late in the game!  But, I'm not going to bash this week cause I already knew in my heart that this was a loss.  This has been the "pattern" of this team for 7 weeks now and NOTHING has changed!

Oh dear God! We are so close and yet so dang far it's unfair! I truly believe if Suggs was here and we had Perriman suiting up to play at his potential we may very well have won more games than we lost. Not saying we would be 7-0. But we could very well be sitting at 4-3 or 5-2 at this point. In any case I have to believe that to get some sleep tonight.

Doesn't sound like a good idea to add another injury prone corner to the team

Our secondary is cursed  regardless

Dropped picks, not this game, and missed opportunities.  They need to step the hell up.  Should't have to blitz every damn time to get pressure.  Run d started to falter and still seeing guys run wide open.  If we have any shot at Horton, would love to have him.  If a new DC is put in place, we damn well better get a new secondary coach.

Don't forget how one of the Cards helped Johnson to get up on the 'no whistle' run.

Bosa will help with that! :D

Every single CB we have is not worth having, including Jimmy. For how much he is getting paid, he should be playing a whole lot better. Don't even get me started on the rest of the group.

Oh yeah was trying to put that one out of my head. That was just mind blowing.

Don't lose sleep. Just dream of better starts and better days. We've had plenty before this season. Let's just hope it ends better. There was a little more passion out there. Promising. I'm good.

Our first round pick is going to be an OLB or future LT. You can write that one in stone.

Pretty much. It's either Staley or Bosa the way I look at it if we are still drafting in the top 5. If we somehow move outside the top 5 but still in the top 10, then Ramsey or Hargreaves will be the pick.

I wanna see us make drastic changes on defense. I want to act as if this is a whole new franchise and defense is something new. This should be a new look defense.

I still don't think Trestman is that bad.  I don't like the end arounds, but you have to try and make them respect the speed guys and keep it on their mind... I guess.  Yes, he makes bad calls for certain downs at times, but every OC does.  The pass pro is hit or miss and it still seems like there is a lack of communication between C and QB on blitz pick ups.  The o line has taken a step back, the wr corps could barely cut it in college and he's still stuck trying to run another system.

He really doesn't have much to work with and I think he's trying.  However the offense finishes, I don't think he can really be judged off this season.

I know everyone was excited we were going to stick to Kubiak's thing but in hindsight, maybe an OC should get to run the system they are comfortable with.

Why was this negged?

Do people not realize how serious that is, especially for a skill position player?

Trestman's playcalling is horrendous!  So predictable...Cam Cameron 2.0 style!  SMH!!
