The Jalen Ramsey (CB/S) Train

201 posts in this topic

I see Ramsey as more of a versatile FS like Mathieu, I've yet to see the deep roaming ability of an Earl Thomas but they haven't really asked him to be that guy at FSU, he certainly has the speed to cover the whole field and he'd definitely add athleticism to our otherwise slow and decrepit secondary, when it comes down to it I'd be happy if we drafted him but there's still a few more guys I like better. (VH3 Bosa Mainly)

Been seeing a lot of drafts lately sending Ramsey to Baltimore but we pick in the top 5 in each one. Is that where we need to be to have a shot at J.R.?

Hard to say right now. Some say Yes and some say no. I am more in the "No crowd" and think he will be there in that 6-15 range. I would expect Bosa, Haergraves, Paxton Lynch, Jared Goff, Nkemdiche, Tunsil and Stanley all as likely candidates to go ahead of him

I agree. I see him going somewhere between 7-12

I agree with others and I strongly feel he compares to Matheiu much rather than Charles Woodson. Ramsey isn't a CB or safety exclusively but rather a defensive back in general.

I think he'll be there in the 8-12 range, thats where I would peg him.

Seeing Brooks as inactive from a weekly basis and Kendrick Lewis poor safety play pulls me to Ramsey. Id hate to be the guy who has to make the call between Hargreaves and Ramsey.

We need a safety... But we might need a Bosa more...

I don't even care who we get at this point. I just want a playmaker.

This. We have needs at so many position, we just need someone who can play.

Sadly, I'm starting to agree. Not that I have anything against Bosa...just see him more productive in 4-3.

Jalen Ramsey is starting to look like more of a luxury

Nice play on words.  No FS has ever gone higher than five to my knowledge.  I see him somewhere in the 6-8 range, so No, I don't believe we need to be in the top 5 to get have a shot at J.R.

I think the Raiders will aim for him or Hargreaves if they fall off down the stretch.  At this pace we will pick ahead of them.

I'd go Darian Thompson personally. I'd have to watch more of Cash. I will admit, he has a nice name.

Lol, I can see it now.... J-Money will be his nick...

But seriously, do yourself a favour and watch him - dude's a good player. He will probably be listed as SS but he has good instincts, can hit and tackle. Never stops.

I might go ahead and do that, there are still some other guys I've been trying to get around and watch. So far Bell and Thompson are my top two safeties after Jalen Ramsey.

Apparently T.Brooks says that Ramsey is a better cornerback than he is safety, don't know if he's being honest or just trying to take the safety position for himself, lol.

Then I guess that means he's a better player than Brooks in practically every way.

That's it. I've made up my mind. If we don't get Stanley we need to get Ramsey. I'm not flip flopping again. Ramsey's my guy.

Just get multiple guys. Life's easy that way.

I'm opposite, while I think Ramsey is a great prospect I prefer the latter in Hargreaves. I think I'll stay that way barring any major injury to Hargreaves. While Ramsey is a great prospect, I really like the safety class this year and I think this is a strong class of safeties. Man, I really like Vonn Bell, he looks really legit. I really think he can be a great player. While I look at this CB class and I'm honestly not impressed. I feel that if we don't get Ramsey, then we can say, "Hey, there's some good prospects there". While the same can't be said about CB, I feel that even though the decision if up to F.O, I think we would go with Hargreaves over Ramsey.

Personally, I wouldn't be upset at all with Ramsey but based off of value and what we could use the top 5 pick on in the 1st round instead, I would rather have Deon Bush at the top of the 3rd.

A lot is going to depend on our FA plans..

I'm worried about every single position on our team except the interior D and the TE's.

I still think Ogbah should really be a good fit if we do indeed trade back for an extra first rounder.

I love what I see in Bell. He's a really good safety prospect and reminds me of Harrison Smith.
