The Jalen Ramsey (CB/S) Train

Draft Ramsey and pair him with Will Hill. You get the best safety tandem since Ed Reed and Ed Reed

Woodson gets NO credit around here, lol. Woodson/Landry was one of the greatest duos of all time.

They were very good, but not greatest duos of all time.

Dennis Smith, Steve Atwater were right up there with one of the best safety tandems of all time.  Not saying they were the best, but I'm just mentioning them because no one talks about them when talking about great safety duos anymore.   I hated the Broncos with a passion as a kid.

Ramsey has the highest football IQ of the draft. After this Clemson game we'd be fools not to draft him.

yeah ramseys playing good tonight.

i love how he is a natural safety, but when he plays CB he can do something that even some of the best pros cant do, and thats play either side of the field to shadow the #1 for the whole game, and hes doing this OUT OF POSITION.. ramsey is the best db to come out of college in a long time, he needs to be a raven, dude is the answer to our problems.

The more I read these posts, the sorrier I feel for everyone on the Ramsey Train when he gets picked ahead of us (how much ahead, I don't know).

I really don't think he'll go that much ahead of us if at all. I think we'll end up somewhere between 8-15 and I think that's the sweet spot where he'll get drafted.

The more I watch Ramsey, the more I think he might be just as good at CB with time. Maybe a Charles Woodson type.

"Made his first career start at Pitt on Sept. 2, becoming the first true freshman to start at cornerback since Deion Sanders in 1985"

Yea, he's a generational talent.

If we don't draft Ramsey I will honestly be sad and disappointed for a while. It would HURT seeing him play for any other team. I've been on this guy since day 1.

Ramsey> everyone

That was like me with Gurley, and my heart was broken when the Rams drafted him. I must say, the Ravens chances of attaining Ramsey are a lot higher than getting Gurley last year so your dream might very well come true and I hope they do. He's honestly the best prospects in this draft and it's not even close.

It's not even that pros can't do it, but it just puts so much more strain on your defense

After watching that Clemson game, I'm coming around to Ramsey. He really played the ball well and even shed a block on that 4th down attempt he stuffed. He already seems to have veteran instincts.

/And if he can cover like that, he could be a weapon on these modern TEs.

Welcome aboard. :D

He had a couple of ugly plays but was overall a huge part of shutting Clemson out early on. If the top-tier guys are off the board (Bosa, the OTs, possibly Kim D), he'd go a huge way to being the kind of playmaker that patches up our secondary. He's got experience at *LB too, so it's not like we'd be lacking options with him.

I feel like a good comparison to Jalen Ramsey would be a guy like Tyrann Mathieu

I'm thinking more of a Charles Woodson type. Big guy with some speed that can play both Safety and CB at a high level.

That is exactly the player Tyrann is.

Nah, Height is the difference, I said Woodson because he and Ramsey are the exact same height and very similar build. Mathieu is like 5'8.

If I had to make a comparison for Ramsey I would say Eric Reid, with more playmaking potential and man-to-man coverage skills. I don't think either have swivel hips and both play high, but both have the length, hitting ability, and football IQ to be top level safeties.

I was thinking the same thing, every time I watch him I see him play he looks like a bigger maybe even more athletic Tyran Mathieu. I can understand the other comparisons with bigger guys like Woodson but I've yet to see that elite ballhawking ability Woodson has.

He was definitely more of a ballhawker last year at safety. But not woodson level.
