[News] Ravens Veterans Reflect On Unfamiliar Losing Experience

52 posts in this topic

What does anyone expect the players to say, are they going to say the seasons over no. Steve Bisciotti will not stand for that, and look who saying it, Koch contract was renewed, Yanda just renegotiated for 4 years, and Joe looking to hit it big with his contract next year. Go figure!!

Every Game This season was lost in their hands if they can pull on upset it could swing momentum in the right direction especially with pittsburgh losing (who we beat) Ravens need to get it together but now theirs not a lot of middle of the bunch teams this year either good above 500 or bad below

Sorry, but "showing leadership" is not approaching each game the same, especially when you are 1-5. Think that's part of the problem? When Ray Lewis was playing do you think for one minute that he had the same attitude and would even utter things like that? Therein lies a big chunk of the problem. Expect more of the same. 4-12 if we're lucky. #5 pick in the draft.

Today's games gave a fresh perspective to the Raven's season. Maybe the Ravens are not as bad as originally thought? Houston takes over as the leading NFL disappointment. The Ravens now can go out and play football without dragging an anchor. Joe can now play loose and hit moving targets and the defense now can cause a few turnovers. Something very familiar will entail called: sustained momentum. Just a few game changing plays and the Ravens rule again. The Ravens might surprise everyone by flying faster and stronger than the Cardinals!

So....Houston loses and all of a sudden things are great again in Ravenstown, huh? Who knew?

I think we're able to pull the upset of the week by beating the Cardinals. it'll be tough but it's not time to give up on the Ravens. The way things are, 8-8 could be enough for playoffs. It's just tough seeing us being very inconsistent so far and making so many penalties.... and even tougher seeing Stefon Diggs putting 100-yards games in back to back weeks

Yeah....it seems like every season we watch quite a few players (a lot, actually)  play much better than the ones we drafted. I like Ozzie and he has done a good job for the team over the years, but I think it's time for him (and perhaps some of our scouts) to hang it up after this bust of a season. Ride off into the sunset, Oz!! And if Harbaugh doesn't get it together, he'll be following his Bro back to college ball in a year or two.

Give it up brother we will not go 7-3 for the rest of the year. Or did I miss the newsflash that a 25 year olds Ray Lewis, Ed Reed Reed, Ngata, and T-Sizzle are on the roster?

If we win tonight, that would make us 2-5. Just one game away from a playoff spot. No were not catching the Bengals and Probably not the Steelers. But we sure as hell can finish a season off better than the Raiders, Bills, Dolphins, and Chiefs.

You can look at as "glass half empty" or "glass half full". It really depends on mind set. Looks like some fans want to be negative and that is all well and good. I'll continue to be as positive as possible and will hope for a win every week! Never say never. Go Ravens!

As bad as the season has gone so far, YES we are still in it. It seems that the teams that would help our cause lost yesterday. And the steelers are only 2 games up on us with a win tonight, with one more head to head with them. PURPLE UP PEOPLE!

One rough season in a very long time and this so called great fan base wants Ozzie to step down, Harbs to go, fire the entire scouting department, etc. etc. Man I wonder what some of you all would say if the Ravens had a few bad years, I guess burn the stadium and move them out of town. Baltimore Raven fans the most fair weather fans around, Seriously have the Ravens not earned the benefit of the doubt to at least give them some time to turn this around either this year or next. All the fans calling for Ozzie to step down or Harbs, please go be a fan of 1 of the 20 other franchises that would have loved to have had the type of the success OUR Ravens have had in a very short period of time.

What did you see last week against SF that makes you think we can beat their div leader this week besides blind optimism? Sorry to tell you guys but being so optimistic about all these below average players we keep bringing in is why we have a bad team now. How many hype stories did we see about Brooks, Elam, Hill, Davis, Webb, Wright, Babin, Upshaw...  we keep trying to convince ourselves these guys were good enough to take the place of legends and they're not even good enough for us to beat the Browns at home.

I hear what you are saying, and agree its time to reload the talent pool, and I have faith that they will do just that next year when we aren't up against the cap so much, but even as bad as this team has been this year they have been in ever single game and have had chances to win every game, a few dropped td passes here or there, missed Fgs here and there and the season looks different, so that what gives us Die hard fans hope, that even as bad as OUR Ravens have been they have fought in every game and have taken these games down to the wire, so that alone should keep the fan base staying positive and rooting hard that we can string a couple wins together, its the NFL, a week by week league and this can get turned around.

The players you mentioned aren't bad players. Their all really good players. You don't need a team full of legends to win football games. We only lost two legends and that was Ed and Ray. The problem we're having is the lack of cohesiveness on the back in and the pass rush not happening like it should. Our DB's arent that good to hold up to allow the pass rush to get to the QB. This is the reason why Suggs is soooo  missed because Doom is getting doubled on every down he plays. We get the pass rush going and that will take some slack off our DB's. Collectively we're not playing well. We've been in every game. The defense is what lost us the majority of all the games we played thus far. We'll be fine though. I think we can still turn it around but it has to start tonight. If that doesn't happen, we can kiss this season goodbye and start new implementations using this season as a time boost.

6 games into the season and not 1 single thing to smile about that ravens are 2-8 counting preseason and should be 0-10. last second win to beat the saints, and the steelers win that was a gift from the field goal kicker,, and u know the rest of the story.

"showing their leadership during Baltimore%u2019s 1-5 start." There is no Leadership coming from Flacco and if there is, it is probably why we are sucking as bad as we are.

So you still think we are going to make the playoffs? We are 1-6 now?

Hahaa. I never said we were gonna make the playoffs but was hoping we could have still been relevant. All 6 losses were close and had we won any of them we would be playing for something. I'm just sick and tired of us grooming coordinators just to see them walk away after a good season. The irony is that we get to keep the bad ones until they single handily ruin a season or 2.

We have a D-Coordinator that basically is getting his 60 day notice as we speak. He cant develop anyone! and is allergic to disguising a blitz. We have an O-Coordinator that wont make adjustment if his life depended on it. He on the other hand will look a blitz in the eye and rarely has a hot receiver knowing that opponents are blitzing all game long.

Very well stated!
