[News] Ravens Veterans Reflect On Unfamiliar Losing Experience

52 posts in this topic

Listening to them talk about the Ravens’ difficult season, you can hear their leadership“Your attitude has to stay the same, win or loss,” Yanda said. “I feel like all the leaders have done a good job of not putting our heads in the dirt and everybody sulking around here feeling sorry for ourselves. That only puts you in the ground.  “I feel like us as leaders, we have to go around here and attack every day, attack every practice and go attack teams on Sunday. That’s the only way you can play. Otherwise, the league will just eat you up.”

^ Nice to hear but I want to see the effects of their "leadership" on the field!  Rally the troops around you so to speak and get the hell out of this funk!

I don't care if the team is 1-15 or 15-1, I am the same Ravens fan for every game, regardless. Sure I get frustrated, but it's because I care. But.... if this is not to be the good season we all hoped for, then it's on to FA, and the draft! I will always wear my Ravens stuff proudly no matter how any season turns out. You guys can Neg me as a homer all you want, but to me that is what a true fan is. I for one stand with our team. GO RAVENS!

I said it before and am saying it again. It is in the Ravens power to shut all the nay-sayers up but they have to win then continue to win to do it.

Flacco is awful.

His o-line is not playing well and his primary targets are a mostly injured. I am not fan of our new OC and his playcalling either. I am not making excuses for him, but if you give Joe some time and our receivers could get some separation, trust me, things would be much different.

This whole season is still not as bad as the Evans drop pass.

I would have to agree with you. That really did hurt me more than what I am currently feeling.

Attitude has a lot to do with winning in the NFL. I live in So Fla and have to watch the Dolphins, who looked absolutely horrible the first 4 weeks of the year, their games were usually over by halftime. They changed coaches, brought in a guy who instilled a new culture and that same roster has produced two lopsided wins the last two weeks. Same 53 guys, different attitude, different results.

"But when Flacco is at the Under Armour Performance Center, you wouldn't be able to tell whether the Ravens record was 1-5 or 5-1. He's the same guy". I don't know about you, but I don't think that is always a good thing.

There needs to be a sense of urgency and also a sense of guilt for being where the Ravens are. It is one thing to be able to pick yourself up after you fall within a game and even into the next game. But, for players to go on as if nothing were the problem with this team spells problems to me.

Jacksonville won... big help in the quest for that first draft pick.

But, Detroit seems to want to give us a run for our money! By the time the 17th week rolls along, we'll have long left every other team in the dust for the coveted #1 draft pick! But, what in the world do you do with that when there is no Andrew Luck type prospect for us to suck for?

Just gotta win Monday and it's a Wildcard for the Ravens! They laugh at me at the sports bar when I said it but when the squeelers and Browns lost it wasn't so funny anymore! The pats do not want to see the Ravens in the post season! I'm not giving up!

I will know the smoke is clearing when we are ready to start playing at the start of the game. To me, when we are lethargic through the first half of the game, I don't expect a W. I still hope for one, but I don't expect it. When the opening kick-off occurs, we need to make sure that smoke turns to fire.

Sense of urgency for 60 minutes. It is not Joe Flacco's character to be loud and outspoken. But a leader has to go out of character if that is what is needed. This is not the time or place for comfort zone. We need you to be a leader, Joe. Now!

I think we're able to pull the upset of the week by beating the Cardinals. it'll be tough but it's not time to give up on the Ravens. The way things are, 8-8 could be enough for playoffs. It's just tough seeing us being very inconsistent so far and making so many penalties.... and even tougher seeing Stefon Diggs putting 100-yards games in back to back weeks

Well The bills, jets, Browns, and steelers all lost so if we want to turn the season around the time is now.

Now is the time!

@ picke, this is how I feel Joe should have felt after Ray Ray and Ed Reeeeeeeeeeeeeeed departed! This is Joe Flacco team and he needs to take us back to Foxboro for that rematch! The Ravens the only team that can beat the pats and A very very very bad pass away from beating them last season! For those that blamed Torrey "karma" something else isnt it?!

Today's games gave a fresh perspective to the Raven's season. Maybe the Ravens are not as bad as originally thought? Houston takes over as the leading NFL disappointment. The Ravens now can go out and play football without dragging an anchor. Joe can now play loose and hit moving targets and the defense now can cause a few turnovers. Something very familiar will entail called: sustained momentum. Just a few game changing plays and the Ravens rule again. The Ravens might surprise everyone by flying faster and stronger than the Cardinals!

Give it up brother we will not go 7-3 for the rest of the year. Or did I miss the newsflash that a 25 year olds Ray Lewis, Ed Reed Reed, Ngata, and T-Sizzle are on the roster?

Yeah, but with Oz track record we'll select another bust. Look at his picks over the past 5 seasons, at least kindle played a game unlike Perriman.

This is the time and this is the place when you have to reach deep down inside of yourselves and bring out that spirit that says I will not give in or give up for this too will pass, and today I will make it change, for I will this to happen, and I will leave everything on the field, and I will do whatever it takes to get my brothers over this hump, I will not get penalized, I will not make turnovers, but I will make the other team turn the ball over to us, I will put my brothers in a position to win and not lose for I will not give up nor give in for this is the time and this is the place to turn this thing around and make a change!!! May God Bless You All GO Ravens!!!

The only way we're reaching .500 is if our awful secondary, that gives up chunk plays like they're going out of style, makes a drastic turnaround. Frankly, I don't think we have the talent there. And the receiving corps. is lacking a few playmakers, as well. Without any injuries, it's a different story, slightly, but still, we need to sign some talent if we want to win NOW. Building through the draft isn't working out so well for us, with the injuries and bad play of some high picks, including Elam and Asa. Besides, if we try to build from the draft, we're going to lose players to other teams, because we're not as willing to pay to keep the talent, such as Torrey, Anquon, Ellerbe, Jarett Johnson, Paul Kruger, etc.

We should begin to have more salary cap room to keep some grizzled veterans around with the Ray Rice contract and so on being over soon. We NEED to pay some Veterans to have a good team, period.
