[News] Eisenberg: What One Thing Would You Change About Ravens?

120 posts in this topic

Pees

Kduo do me a favor? Take the blueprint to build a Lamborghini, but use parts from a Ford Focus to build the car. Even though you have a great blueprint if you don't have the right parts it's not going to work. Pees has ran defenses for years so he must have some type of idea, but he doesn't have the parts to make it work right now. How many different guys have played and started in the secondary this year? Reason why average passers are having great games against us. Hopefully we can draft another corner in the 1st round next year to match up with Jimmy.

Would say trading Boldin because that still seems to be haunting us, but then we may have never got SSS. I'd like to say not keeping Pagano or Kubiak, but that would have meant hampering their coaching progression. I guess too much to say one thing lol.

The one thing I would change is my decision to bet $1,000 on the Raven's to win Superbowl #50, before the season started..!

At the start of the season I'd have coaches use resourceful tactics mistakenly referred to as "cheating" and simply pay the cost of victory (laughable fines and the "biteless" bark of a commissioner). If we incur the "wrath" of a few powerless bloggers, so what. The books remain as they are and the titles stay in the castle. Let's get with the program. S'been like this for decades. We just thought there was a high road from the B.S. we were fed as kids lol. GO RAVENS!!!

I want to see Breshad play man, so I agree with John. I'd stop him from getting that injury, the Ravens can't run their offense without a deep threat, which is why I expect Jeremy Ross to continue to get more involved.

John Eisenberg:-

I commend you for a beautifully written article. Great points, thoroughly explained your opinion while being objective to the players, and earned 100 comments on a mid week piece ;).

Thank you and please keep this classy writing up. We need it.

Suggs can still be the vocal leader off the field and on the sidelines.  I haven't seen him on the sidelines at all.  May be the camera just aren't focusing on him, but I saw Steve Smith out there involved in the game when he was hurt.  Put Suggs on some crutches and get him on the sideline screaming at people.

Oh my lord, you have no idea how pissed off I was and still am for they using the pick on Walker instead of Diggs. Walker was nowhere near getting picked on the 4th or 5th round and it wouldn't matter because hes done nothing this season. Diggs is already drawing comparisons to Antonio brown with his performances after coming back

It was Robert Myers they selected just prior to Diggs going

Would have paid McPhee and drafted Quintin Rollins and Stephon Diggs. They both were available when the Ravens were on the clock.

I was wondering the same thing, where has Suggs been?

It's incredibly dangerous to have a player on the sidelines on crutches. Many teams don't allow it.

I would change the WR scouts. Not only we hardly draft a WR worth to play in the NFL, but didn't they watch Stefon Diggs for 3 years in M&T Stadium or wherebouts, and then told Ozzie he wasn't worth a 5th round pick?

To change or not to change.. that is what's questionable. As fans, we are privileged to enjoy such a great organization. We have a QB who holds not a few, but multiple records, does more with less, and always takes accountability for games while accepting ridicule. We point fingers, but either don't know statistics or details. The coaching staff is rearranged each year, the players rotate each year, and yet the Ravens still work hard. Players take cuts and don't want to leave there. What I would change is the morale. I know coach Harbs says he doesn't need to pump these guys up, but I've watched these guys for years. They don't just need a leader or leaders.. They need that fire and to stay hot once they make big plays. Stay out of trouble with penalties, hold onto every last yard before giving up a first, and stop running a counter productive series on offensive plays. Flacco can handle uptempo no huddles. Rotate players and stop being one dimensional on offense. All in all, morale is what I would change. Simplicity is always the most difficult feat. P.S. nobody can predict the future. Perriman's injury wasn't planned and we don't know if he's potentially better than Diggs.

The Ravens and Harbaugh have been drafting mediocre players and for some weird reason they take players from terrible teams. If these players get cut from bad teams...they're not good. Kendrick Lewis, Will Hill, Shareese Wright they aren't good. The only players that have been good that Harbaugh has drafted and have been good is CJ Mosley and Brandon Williams.

Dean Pees has to go and please, please, please get rid of Trestman. He makes Cam Cameron look like Sean Payton.

Who has the final say in the draft. On the offensive side of the ball. Ozzie wouldn't be allowed to sniff the board and the phone would be yanked out the wall during the selection. Cellphone block in full effect.

Coaching staff overhaul. One change in regards to players wouldn't make enough of a difference because we have so many needs for upgrades in that regard. But, the coaching staff really is a problem. Pees is Obvious. Trestman was a questionable hire. When Kubiak left, he took, what, 3 coaches with him? Harbs' replacements are inferior. In fact, Harbs, himself, is fast losing my confidence. So, I would say, my one change would be looking carefully at the Entire coaching staff and overhaul it as necessary. I think that a substantial number of changes are needed, with even the HC being a possibility. This team needs a rebuild, and it might not just be a rebuilding of the players.
