[News] WR Jeremy Ross Makes Case For More Offensive Snaps

51 posts in this topic

We would need a QB to throw close to these guys 1st.....we don't have that right now. WR is not the problem folks.....and Gumby is already under contract with....Hasbro i believe....

Your getting neg for this but you know I see your point and feel the same way about Joe. I am most disappointed in how he's playing. The back foot throws, bone headed interceptions, not seeing the field and wide open receivers not named Steve Smith. Truly crushed because I really felt he was going to have a great year. What was I thinking?

I have a problem with the routes the receivers are suppose to run. Like Kamar and Marlon being in the same corner of the end zone. The receivers breaks are all on the same yd line which makes it easy for the safetys and corners to cover. I think we need to look at the receiver coaches and whoever is drawing out the plays. Its too easy to figure out our schemes.

"The Ravens want playmakers to step up on offense, and they may have found a strong candidate" = Don't drink the purple kool-aid this time

At least no one is getting arrested this year- I know the past arrests were an embarrassment to this team, and we always led the league with past arrests. While we're not winning, at least we're not making trouble off the field

Its good to see Ross succeed and Givens available to step up.  Its time for Trestman to turn on his creativity so these guys can be substantial.  Its a long road to .500

If we only had a QB who can actually find an open receiver, we'd be in good shape. One who doesn't panic under the slightest bit of pressure or may consider moving around or running. I know, he looks like a drunken giraffe when he actually runs, but what the heck. 4-12 record this year.

well on that one particular play the receivers kind of had to freestyle after the route bc joe was under pressure and scrambling for the sideline. At that point you just Wing it and try to find an opening. But overall I agree I'm not in love with the routes they've been running either. Edited by January J

@NCMan....so other than Brady,Rodgers,Luck, who would be a better option for this Ravens team LOADED with Practice Squad WR's? Granted, Joe can frustrate the hell out of us, but so do all the other QB's in the league. We didn't seem to have a problem when the confetti was dropping from the dome in New Orleans.

If we do nothing the rest of the year other than identify one or two youngsters who are worthy of starting, we have salvaged this otherwise ugly year. Why not play these youngsters? And tell Marlon Brown he's on borrowed time if he doesn't regain that rookie year aggressiveness and composure. With Perriman and Camp out and Steve Smith injured for a game the guy still didn't show up -- talk about missing opportunities.

I feel like this is the year we assess what we've got to build around, and try to replace/upgrade everyone who isn't regarded as a building block. Make sure these guys know they are fighting for their football lives.

Marlon Brown hasn't done a thing in the last year and a half. There's a reason why he wasn't drafted. Play Ross. When you ain't got nothing, you got nothing to lose.

Been a Marlon fan from day one, but i can admit that he is really falling off the face of the earth....Time to get Givens, Ross, and even maybe call Butler up....Aiken is good for a half, but has yet to play 2 halves....JMO.....

Steve Largent proved speed and size means nothing as a receiver in three nfl. It's heart, determination and quickness of breaks.

All this receiver crap. There is only one area that really needs to play, defense especially secondary Mr Smith, Mr Webb

Yes, let his run with the 'Ones' but tell him when he's running open on a drag across the middle, he has to yell, "Joe, Joe, Joe,... WHOA JOE! Joe, Joe, JOE!"

... b/c newbies get no love and Flacco will be looking for SSmith or Gilmore every play! lol  ;)

Let em fly,....  :D

Yes,... I've touted Marlon too,... but, how does one "unlearn" how to catch?

I think he's "day-dreaming", feeling like the "Last Resort" when Smith, Aiken and Gilmore are on the field with him!

Put somebody in who won't take plays off until he gets himself together, or gets gone!

I'm done with Marlon one hit wonder,Ross and Givens show effort, feed them the ball more. We know what SSS can do Flacco, use your weapons already.

Pitta.. Should play within a week or so at worst. Hes practicing now, feeling great. Etc.. If Pitta got back on the field and played in Slot... Im willing to put money down that with Sr,Pitta in slot and our trio of TEs.. This team would now have enough fire power to get back to. 500 and who knows attempt a shot at a second wildcard with all those home games.

But get Pitta on the field

He'd be brain dead to play for a 1-6 team...............

Ross and Givens should definitely be taking snaps away from Marlon, seeing as though he has yet to take advantage of his multiple opportunities and step up.
