[News] WR Jeremy Ross Makes Case For More Offensive Snaps

51 posts in this topic

i would definitely utilize givens and ross in 3 WR set more often, they're elusive and underrated. better than MARLON.

You know you are in bad shape when street free agents and practice squad players from other teams can come right in and start over guys who have been on your 53 man roster for 2 or 3 years.

Hold the phone: Garrett Downing just classified Jeremy Ross as a playmaker... You mean the career special teams player who couldn't stay on a roster and was forced into a playing role through injuries to our already garbage receiving corps? If this is how the Ravens find playmakers were in for a long decade.

They brought both of these guys in and both caught the balls thrown to them I think they should be taking snaps and starting along with SSS. Aiken and Brown should only come in on certain plays.

sorry Marlon, I was high on you but you disappointed us fans; it's time to start Ross as #2 or #3 WR with Givens in the mix as well. Aiken is ok but non consistent. Ross and Givens should start over them...and they deserved that opportunities...

This team is a mess the common theme seems to be talent evaluation we are not evaluating efficiently this is why we are keeping the wrong players and letting the good players walk via free agency. We have to point the finger at the front office for this. This is what separates the patriots from everyone else in this league their ability to find key players unconventionally. We have are strengths in talent evaluation like LB,DL but certain positions we have had no luck in the draft or Free agency like WR,CB,OL we have to get better at this fast as an organization or we will cease to be competitive in this league.

So why not? Give ross, givens, and waller all the opportunity in the world. If they fail it still won't be as bad as relying on Marlon (no hands) brown

Ross and Givens! Play them all night long. Put in Waller.

What's to lose. The season's been shot dead. I'm tired of what I've already seen from most of the pass catchers. I want to see what the new guys can do. SSS is playing with broken bones because he's all we have.

If we could ever get periman on the field with givens get steve smith to return one year and draft dostson from tcu in the second round nonone could stop them.

I agree with the people on these boards that are saying let Ross and Givens start along side SSS lets see what that trio can bring to the huddle against the Cardinals. Heck they could end up being our starting WRs for the rest of this season.

Good post I agree. What have we got to lose? Besides even our 3 TEs have been more impressive than Brown and Aiken in the passing game and SSS can use some help from the other WRs on this team.

I feel kind of bad for Marlon. I feel like he's gotten the short end of the stick a lot. Every time he is wide open flacco either gets sacked or just doesn't look his way. Then when he finally has a chance for a td Kamar steals it from him lol. That being said you just have to find a way to make plays regardless. Aiken went AFTER the ball. Marlon just fools around waiting for the ball to come right to him instead of making things happen. Then when it rarely does come his way he drops it. Hard to earn your qbs trust that way and is probably a good reason joe doesn't look his way more often. I'm all for Ross gettin more opportunities over brown, so far he hasn't "dropped the ball".

"The Ravens want playmakers to step up on offense, and they may have found a strong candidate."

The statement above scares me- this is baltimoreravens.com was saying about Marlon & Aiken during the Summer when they tricked us into thinking they'd be good- but I guess they thought they were studs because they were going up against our third tier corners.

We would need a QB to throw close to these guys 1st.....we don't have that right now. WR is not the problem folks.....and Gumby is already under contract with....Hasbro i believe....

We need to use every receiver we have. So you telling me you made it to this level and only Steve Smith is open?? Lay it all on the line and make sure everyone gets reps. Never know what you have until giving a shot.

Reps are hard to get with the newer NLFPA contract.

Pitta.. Should play within a week or so at worst. Hes practicing now, feeling great. Etc.. If Pitta got back on the field and played in Slot... Im willing to put money down that with Sr,Pitta in slot and our trio of TEs.. This team would now have enough fire power to get back to. 500 and who knows attempt a shot at a second wildcard with all those home games.

But get Pitta on the field

I hate it when joe says he'll throw it out there and let his receiver go get it. I'd like to see him actually throw the ball TO him because he is an Elite QB after all.

Heck, I can throw the ball in the general direction. We pay him MILLIONS of dollars to throw it TO his receivers. They shouldn't have to "go get it".

The question isn't them being on the field. The question should be can our franchise QB get the ball to them or even look their way? Joe seems to zero in on just a few? Been picked off a couple times for staring down his receiver and throwing what will probably be worst play of the year interception. The back foot throws have got to go. The Offense is as much to blame for this slump as the DB's getting torched. Too many 3 and outs and just dying during games then a rally but by that time the Defense is wore out trying to keep it close then lose in the end. Just sad%uD83D%uDE2A
