Wow, here we are with a defense that cant stop the pass and can hardly stop the run. And you guys are praising a guy in the middle of it smh. Yes he makes plays here and there, but to sit here and praise any guy on this defense with the way they have played is pure non sense. Im disappointed in you guys. Maybe you all are ok with having a mediocre defense, but I am not. If teams put the right guy on B.Williams he will get stood straight up.

We're 1-5 right now, wake up!

If Ozzie was right 99% of the time, do you think we'd be 1-5 right now and 1-6 after Monday night?  Thank you.  He was great in the past but not so great now- look at the last five drafts.  If we drafted well, younger people would be stepping up now, like other teams - that's why the Pats, Packers, Seahawks, teams like that, would never go 1-5.  Either Ozzie can't pick 'em or the coaching staff can't coach- it's one of the other.  99% right of the time- lmao!

Signing Harbaugh to a big contract was also a bad move on Ozzie's part. When it happened last year I was like "damn, Ozzie isn't as smart as  ithought he was". Because it was pretty obvious to me that Harbaugh took a lot of the credit from Ray lewis.

Because it was Ray Lewis who was the real coach/leader of this team.

Now we are just stuck with a special teams guy as our head coach with a knack for making dumb challenges and assuming his fans are idiots.

We all know our defense is bad and this season is over but Williams, Davis and Jernigan are 1 great and 2 average or slightly above average pieces on d-line to build around. Mosley is injured while playing in the middle of a bad defense but he is a solid piece as are Will Hill and Jimmy Smith when the latter is on top of his game. With high draft picks, and most likely a lot of them as ozzie works his magic, and getting rid of Rice, Ngata etc dead money we will return to form. Just not this season or maybe even next, but playoffs in 2 seasons for sure.

Exactly, if Brandon Williams is the best player on our defense, what does that say about our defense...THEY SUCK! SMDH

We have the 25th ranked defense and here they are praising a guy right at the head of it smh.

Well,... I always hate peoples' need to paint someone as the "Best" or "Worst" or whatever! It's unrealistic!

I will say that Brandon Williams has stepped into his role as the "anchor" of the Front Four, admirably!

I would also add that given the light being currently shined on C.J. Mosley's "flaw" in his game i.e. coverage, there may be a case made for Brandon being the most effective player at his position on Defense!   :oldwiseman:

Some of the comments here suggest that players doing a great job shouldn't get praised and because of a poor team cannot be great. By that logic then these players also suck Navorro Bowman, Joe Haden, Adrian Peterson, Demaryius Thomas [broncos D is carrying them to an undefeated record], etc...All players on poor performing teams on their respective side of the ball (defense, offense). I know this is a a first for many Raven's fans to be in this position and an awful thought to know your team has the worst record in the league but this shouldn't be a newsflash but good/great players DO play on bad teams/offenses/defenses. If they were all bad the Ravens would be getting blown out every game not within one play of winning EVERY game...

So pointing out something positive in a bad situation is a wrong?

Its a distraction. I pity excuse. If you want to pat someone on the back for poor play you can take it to some other organization, but not here.

Thats just how I look at it. This team and the players we had in the past had to fight for this team to have the publicity it has now. The defense we used to have fought to earn respect in this league. And some of these guys are just throwing it down the drain. I remember when our games weren't even televised in parts of Maryland. Heck this city was stripped of a team before the Ravens came.

So yea I think with the way our players have been playing this season, pointing out something positive in a bad situation IS a bad thing.

This ain't the Browns, or the Redskins. Where you can lose for decades and then get praised for winning one game.

No one is patting anyone on the back for poor play.  The article SIMPLY points out how great Williams is playing under these circumstances.  Why is that so hard to conceive?  You're basically stating that Williams shouldn't be recognized as a Probowl candidate b/c the rest of the D is sucking.  So if he's selected to play in the Probowl, then what??
