Ravens ranked 14th on most banged up team in NFL

With how we've played, I would think we were top five. But I guess our injuries have just been important injuries, not just depth players.

they dont seem to make a distinction between starters , role players, depth players and such.

i mean they are just making a list of how many games a player misses.

id debate that the loss of caliber players like suggs, dez, romo, ben, nelson and such probably carry alot more weight then some of the guys who are listed.

i mean both steelers kickers are on the list for 16 each giving the steelers 32 points but i have no dobt they would rather have that then ben joining them on the list lol

Injuries haven't been an issue this year. The issue is lack of talent at key positions and bad coaching.

So Pitta, Perriman and Monroe couldn't have made a difference earlier in the season? Suggs isn't that big a deal? The things you mention have and effect, but injuries make a difference. I don't care what coaches say.

besides Suggs, our injury problem is blown way out of proportion. its mainly lack of talent and coaching staff.

I agree, there are more injuries to the offensive side of the ball IMO. As far as defense goes, we're just not that good. We lost Suggs which was a HUGE blow, right now we're pilling up but from week 2-3 our problems were beyond injuries. I do believe that with the guys we lost these past two weeks injuries can be a problem.

Suggs, Perriman, Webb, Monroe, Campanaro, Taliaferro, Canty, Pitta, Will Davis... all starters or key contributors, and all but Webb have missed most of the season. That's a lot.

I have stated in other threads, way too many excuses coming from people saying about our injuries. Sadly, most of them come from Hensley on ESPN which makes him seem like a whiner.

Who have we truly lost that have had that much of an impact on our team? I am talking about guys that produced before and expected a lot from coming in? I would say Suggs and Monroe.

How bout a combination of injuries, poor play, lack of playmakers & depth, and simply not executing....

Key injuries to Suggs & Perriman hurt us bad. It's not an excuse, just another factor to account for when wondering why we're 1-5.

That list is skewed imo. I don't see how the Cowboys aren't at the top, let alone 8th. When you are missing your qb, star wr, and stat lb, I think that weighs more than a star receiver and an unproven receiver. The Panthers should be ahead of the Packers if this list was any bit of consistent at all.

Impossible. Cant possibly be more than one reason.

No doubt the Ravens have been snakebitten with injuries this season that they have failed to overcome up to this point.

sure, just like every NFL team every single year, we have some injuries.

but when we are within 3-5 points every single game, and have a chance to win last minute but are completely oblivious to the clock, refuse to spike the ball, refuse to hustle to the line of scrimmage.. that has nothing to do with injuries. and thats just one example. i could go on for paragraphs. saying we have failed at this point due to injury is completely inexcusable.

Some of the replacement players we're using especially in the secondary are the determining factors when it comes to those 3 - 5 points....

thats when the excuses come in. flacco and company had the chance to come back at the end but failed miserably. mainly due to poor timeout usage earlier in the half, poor clock management at the end, lack of hustle, etc. we can continue to play the "if" game by saying tucker shouldve made that field goal, then all we need was a field goal that last drive. but its the fields fault there was holes in it. and "we have injuries". every single team has injuries.

where was help over the top that play we put a bum off the street one on one with one of the most notorious burners in the league? point being, no excuses. its lack of execution and poor coaching.

Funny, I didn't realize Jimmy Smith was a replacement player...I still look at this coaching staff as the #1 issue...

True....  and two dropped endzone passes by Smitty...  but I don't place blame on any one particular play or player.  We shouldn't have been in those positions to begin with.  Putting up between 20 and 30 points per game, with our receiving corps should show people just how good we could be with the right pieces in place.  That being said.  It just goes back to... Defense wins games/championships....  If you can't stop the opposition, then in our situation you gotta put up more than 30 - 40 points.

good point on the smitty drops. it seems like we can never get over the hump with TD drops. another poor showing of execution.

sigh, i feel so bad for flacco. his numbers should be doubled at this point in his career but years of abuse from his WR/TEs continue to make the whole "elite" debate so tiresome lol.

No doubt about it .Lack of talent and I will add a complete lack of team speed.

I was watching Seattle play defense last night and they are physical like the old Ravens defenses.

I see none of that with this team .No tough guys.
