Or when the guy you're trying to tackle has about 50 lbs on you. No one thought he was getting out of that. Jenkins closed in fast as hell on that and most times makes that play.

True enough.

Carolina shooting themselves in the foot majorly.

Depressing to see them get to 3rd and 9 only to leave Austin wide open over the middle.

So far in 2015 I have seen a lot of really poor or just average football.

Don't think I've seen a single high quality game all year.

You know Kelley may be on to something converting corners to safety. Since there are none coming out of college anymore.

Agree, maybe we are at the apex of NFL football, where its peak has hit and nos its starting downhill?

I blame Goodell.

And Canada.

Sacking Bradford is a good way to respond to a PI call you don't like. That's why you never blame the refs.

Possibly. Trying to remember the last time I saw I game that was very well played on both sides. Might have to go back to 2013 even.

Colts are one to watch...increasingly thinking that Pagano is fired during their bye week. Their next games are vs. CAR and DEN. I see 3-6 (but probably still first place) in their future.

Fun fact: the Colts are 3-0 in the AFC South and 0-4 outside of it.

Another fun fact. Hasselback is 2-0 for the Colts while Luck is 1-4.

If only we were that fortunate. Must be nice for the Colts to own the division without much resistance.

And to think they want to be in the Super Bowl picture this year. Yikes. Might have to lay off getting stuck into the Patriots for mostly being able to control a division full of lemmings too.

Another interesting name that could get fired (though I couldn't see it happening until the offseason) is Gus Bradley. Imagine having him as our DC. Dreams are free anyway.

The AFC South may give us a reason to finally consider seeding the top 6 teams by wins and not divisions. Looking at the entire AFC South remaining schedule, we could have a 5 - 6 win division winner.

Just got a chance to look at the Greg Hardy altercation. Wow.

Cowboys logic: Knocking a clipboard out of a coaches hand and throwing a temper tantrum = leader of a football team.

I just want to know, what the hell happened to the New Orleans' defense? It's like they're suddenly clicking. They didn't have a personnel change, but out of the blue they're playing so much better. What did Rob Ryan do?

I've been thinking similar to this for a while. It's becoming more frequent that a team gets into the playoffs with a poor record due to winning a dumpster division.

NFL is cyclical, so it seems that there will often be a division that is very poor. In just the past few years, AFCS,NFCS,NFCW has been awful (we're getting to "back to back" seasons now with the NFCS and AFCS).

I'm for re-seeding the playoffs. But, I think they should still keep the playoff qualifications intact. Keeping divisions and division rivalries is important. However, they could change the "automatic home playoff game" for a poor division winner and make them go on the road.

Example:

- Division winners still automatically qualify

- 2 non-division winning WC teams still qualify

Options:

- Seed the 6 qualifying playoff teams by record (naturally, the good division winners will still seed over the WC teams, most likely)

- OR,, if a WC team has better record than their division winning opponent (ex. Colts 8-8 vs NYJ 10-6),, switch venues of the game. Make the Colts go on the road to NYJ,, I don't think that would be a very big deal.

Seriously,, any given year the AFCN could have an 11-5 / 10-6 team as a wildcard. That is still a very good season. Just because the Colts won their division, doesn't mean they performed better or had the better season. Reward the better team with home field advantage for that matchup. I don't think that would be too much to ask. It wouldn't even change the playoff format greatly.

It is getting "sickly" watching a division winning team get an automatic home playoff game after they have been a mediocre/poor team most of the year. Give them their playoff spot,, just make em go on the road.

Sry guys,, rant over lol.

I'm in agreement with Bengal Billy when it comes to seeding. I think all division winners should get in, but they shouldn't necessarily have homefield advantage.

Didn't we have a better record as a wildcard than the Chiefs one season, and then we had to play in KC? We still won the game, but our organization and fans deserved to be rewarded with a home playoff game that season, when I think we were like 12-4 and lost a tiebreaker to Pitt.

Yep, that was in 2010.

To be fair though...Indy had a better record than us in 2012, and we got to host them in our first game of the SB run.

Overall though, I think seeding should be done strictly based on record. But I agree that all division winners should get in.

Yeah,, I think I remember that one. Anyway, that's exactly the type of situation I'm talking about. A 12-4 team (even if they didn't win the division) still had an excellent season. A team like that shouldn't have to play on the road vs a team with a worse record (especially if it's a team winning the AFCS at 6-10 or so, lol).

Really, I can't figure any harm in at least switching the venue.
