My question is. IF we go with Bosa, do you take a 3-4 DE later on maybe in round three to help provide interior pressure or no?

I don't know why Bosa would affect that. I'd rather use that pick for another position. He could probably provide some inside rush too.

My philosophy is, the more pass rushers the better. Doom doesn't have much time left and quite frankly, I want us to draft his and Suggs' replacement this offseason. If we take Bosa, I want Nassib in round two or three. Go get a WR and corner in FA. Build the middle of the defense and offense through the draft

This is key right here. we need to bring in the replacements while they both are still here...

I want Boyd in round two if he falls. No doubt about it. That guy has #1 WR potential. He may never be elite, but I could see him as a Deandre Hopkins/ Crabtree when he's on type

Ya I agree you can never have enough pass rushers. Hypothetically if we got Bosa, I wouldn't necessarily be totally against an interior guy in round 2 and 3, but it definitely wouldn't be my first choice. I'd prefer we get someone at another position of need and let Jernigan and Davis develop. Getting a good CB and WR in free agency sounds great, but is easier said than done. Finding starters at those positions is expensive. We probably won't have much money to spend and we rarely dish out big money for anyone, much less a WR. And we are horrendous at identifying receiver talent (Steve being the only real exception). If we play this 'we won't sign a guy unless he's cut because he'll cost us a comp pick' game then good luck. Teams don't usually cut good WR's and CB's. Edited by ravefan52

I understand how important draft picks are, but im getting sick of hoarding late round draft picks, especially when comp picks cant be traded.

Would suck if the one year we get a top 5 pick bosa doesn't declare for the draft and sticks around to play with his brother. But either way we will come away with a stud I suppose. If they're indeed serious about playing Webb at FS then Hargreaves may be the answer. Come on springtime.

I just figured it was a sure thing, didnt know it was still up in the air.  Too bad Fournette cant come out this year, thos rules are so flawed to me.

We currently only have two good cornerbacks, both are injury prone and Webb doesn't have much time left. We were in cornerback hell last year and we're about to be this year. I want a CB in the first round. No more Wright, Cason and all the other waiverbacks.

You spelled Bosa wrong

I could make the same argument for OLB.

We need one OLB because Upshaw not only needs to be replaced but upgraded. Dumervil and Suggs will be here another two years and we just drafted Smith. Bosa, Nassib or Ogbah and a late round or undrafted player are fine.

I love Hargreaves and Ramsey but Sutton, King, and Fuller are also great prospects.

Well this is timely...

For first time this spring, NFL expected to allow teams to begin trading compensatory draft picks, per NFL sources. Should be more trades.

Thats big--This might change how more teams go about FA if they can now trade the picks..probably won't for many of the teams but it sure will give us more ammo

That may make things more fun

MAY? I'm looking forward to FA even more now especially how Ozzie loves him those comps.

Great post. I didn't consider that aspect. It really does add another few wrinkles. FA would be truly unpredictable. They may have seen the need to do it because some the struggling teams are now foundering and are cap strapped. The league certainly can't afford for key markets/teams to struggle for extended periods of time. It's bad for business. I just hope they pass the measure. As it reads, its up for a vote and not concrete. If the owners don't pass it……………..

Yeah it makes you wonder for sure. Coupled with his mysterious suspension it makes you wonder where his head is at times.

Did you even see the play?  It definitely wasn't the smartest penalty, but him being tossed was pretty ridiculous, to me at least.  I understand that it's an automatic ejection for targeting, but he hit the guy in the middle of his body.  It's not even going to be a penalty in the NFL but college ball imposed strict targeting rules that tosses immediately.

This coupled with the suspension PLUS him telling reporters he wasn't gonna look at game tape after he had a bad game doesn't make him look good.
