UPDATED: MESSAGE BOARDS CLOSING AFTER DRAFT   03/08/2017

After careful consideration, we have decided that we will sunset our message boards after this year's NFL Draft. Since we opened our boards a decade ago, the digital landscape has greatly evolved. While we understand there remains a smaller group of highly-engaged fans who participate in conversation in our forums, a significant amount of the dialogue about our team and our games has migrated away to other social media platforms over the past several years. Our message boards will remain up and running through Friday, May 5th, and will be removed on May 6th. We recognize that this change may upset avid members of our community. However, we look to utilize our time and resources to focus on how we can best connect with our fans across an array of digital/social outlets. If you are not already engaging us and other members of the Ravens Flock on our Facebook page, Instagram account, through Twitter or Snapchat, we invite you to follow us on those channels and continue to participate in our social communities. In addition, the commenting feature on our website articles will remain intact. Members will be able to continue using their boards account to log in and share their thoughts at the bottom of every news story. We’d like to thank all the Flock members and our moderators who have brought thoughtful conversation to this space and made our community great for the last 10 years. Ravens Social Media Hub »

[News] Dennis Pitta Taking The Field Today

So,would we carry 4 TEs, or move Boyle to the PS (where another team might grab him because he has played well). Don't see moving Maxx down, because of his high pick (Boyle either, really).

It's good to have Pitta back practicing and soon to play. I'm not worried about him getting reinjured. This is his choice to play and it obviously means a lot to him to get back out there. Pitta is solid, it's a good move for us to work him back into lineup. His replacements did good too, so hopefully can just move around some chess pieces keep everyone involved.

I know that if Pitta comes back it may not save our season this year but win or lose I am a Ravens Fan and i really like the thought of Pitta and Gillmore playing together :) Gillmore had become my favorite player he will be a talent that needs keeping!

Taking the field and in game shape are two totally different things. Pitta will practice for 3 weeks then be placed on the IR. That gives the Ravens all off-season to see if he can ever play again. If not, the Ravens can cut him next year and not have a ton of dead money towards the cap (actually save a little cap space - 600K)

We would absolutely carry 4. No question. God forbid pitta get reinjured but obviously it's a possibility. It's awesome seeing him out there and beating the odds. I hope he proves everybody wrong and provides a spark to this team. Joe will be throwing to his favorite target very soon, and we will have the most beast tight end corps in the nfl.

No reason for him to suit up. Give it until next year to heal up as much as possible and give it a shot in 2016. Hope he comes back next year and tears it up. Can someone say 4TE set (Pitta, Gillmore, Williams, Boyle)? That would be the deepest and best TE crew of all time.

I don't think so, I think they will play him to see how he does and to decide if he's worth keeping for next year. If he reinjured himself or just isnt the same after the injury it may make the decision to cut him a little easier. Also if we get him playing again and he shows he can hold up and produce he could potentially be used as trade bait. I don't see us parting ways with any of our young tight ends bc they are our future- so this is definitely a tough situation. I hate even talking like this bc I absolutely love pitta , but it's a tricky situation they're in since we drafted 2 tight ends and Since Crockett has developed so well. However I don't think carrying 4 is completely out of the question. Would most certainly be the best tight end corps that the league has seen in a long time, esp when Maxx and Boyle develop a little more. Edited by January J

I'll keep all four tight ends on the field put them in the slot or out wide probably have better passing game then we have now with the so called receivers we have now

People, people questioning where Pitta would play or fit in.... Hello Pitta has played SLOT. He doesnt have to play TE that can be Gillmore,Boyle,Williams. So bye bye No hands Marlon Brown, would be my suggestion if a move hade to be made. Jeremy Ross deserves a spot, good returner and can catch and make plays

Our tight ends should be a huge part of the offense going forward if we are to be successful. Pitta has made his own choice to play and I supported him fully whatever he decided. Pitta has that "trust" factor from Joe that has been lacking (other than SSS) and could help this offense get on track. We need Gillmore consistently involved as well.

Welcome back Pitta! Chase your dreams brother. Leave on your terms. I hope we never see you reeling in pain again but if that's the risk your willing to take then who are we to stand in your way. I personally salute and support you for doing what you love.

Not even Pitta can save this season. We're better off signing Tim Tebow so he can lead the team in prayer. Only God could save this season. :D

At least someone returned to practice.

The Ravens practice? You'd never know it by watching them in action. Sometimes it looks like they haven't even met. Nice to know they've resorted to actually getting to know each other and perhaps practicing. Great news!!

It would NOT surprise me if Pitta is cleared to play that we keep 4 TEs on the active roster and IR Perriman.

If Pitta could come back this season, and if he somehow were able to rally the team to start winning games, and if we were to get to the Superbowl, then this would be a come back story to match Ray Lewis' from two years ago. One can dream, can't he?

Great news for the gentleman but for how long? Who won't cringe every time he gets hit or is slow to get up. He would be an absolute upgrade at the position(not saying the current TE's are bad)but the Ravens and esp. his family should be thinking about the long term ramifications of another injury in the same area.

Whatever Pitta does is fine by me, it is definitely his choice!  But, I cannot tell a lie.......if he does play, I will cringe every time he makes, or is involved in a play!! :scared2:  I do not want to witness that again! :stretcher:  Not EVER!!!!!

Absolutely great news on Pitta. And it's the kind of news that's welcomed at this point honestly.

Now then, has anyone noticed that Joe's drop backs, playaction execution, and pocket presence in general has gotten considerably sloppier this year relative to last year under Kubiak? It's almost as if Kubiak prided himself on the precision with which his QBs execute every step. Every route broke in precise Bill Walsh-ian timing with the drop back of the QB. Now it seems like Joe is making a lot of sloppy back-footed throws, jump throws, and really pushing forward in the pocket as well. And we're not really doing as neat a job of shadowing run plays before breaking off in play action or setting up TE screens.

Perhaps Trestman needs to stress emphasis on some basic West Coast principles and polish off the sloppiness.

This is the absolute wrong time to get Pitta to suit up. We aren't doing too great and if he suits up he will become a go to weapon for Flacco and knowing Flacco, he will zone in on him every chance there is, especially because there aren't many options for him. That may put Dennis in the middle of the field making really tough catches in traffic. That could be really dangerous for him. Why not wait? Especially because Gillmore is pretty darn good himself and is doing fine as a TE! I just don't get it.
