[News] John Harbaugh Addresses Late-Game Urgency

Things to look forward to next year: the dead money should be gone from the salary cap, Flacco's salary would and should not be near as ridiculous, and some decent injured players would be back. The FO can use the money to get real good talent.

Keep in mind that Joe's cap number will go down from where it WILL be, not from where it is.

Compared to what his cap hit has been for the last three years, expect his cap number to increase, not decrease. He's been under $15M for his entire career in cap hit annually, and that will change next season.

Will probably be in the $20M range, by far the highest of his career.

I honestly jumped ship after that home loss to the Browns Lol.

I used to be so pumped for this team, and get so angry when we would lose!! But now I feel nothing. We have nothing to root for, and therefore nothing to lose.

That's how I look at it.

Even when we score im like, wait for the last 2mins. in the 4th before i get pumped.

From pre-season picks to go to the super bowl by some, we are now finding ways to make poor teams look great and can't win a game! We need some receivers!!!!!Do you think that Manning/Brady would accept the play of these receivers?(except Smith Sr) Very Frustrated and sad.....it seems that everyone is making big mistakes from coaches and all players.......

I saw somewhere today that we are a 19/19 team since winning the Super Bowl. If we can't beat the Browns, if we can't beat the 9ers, we'd better look forward to becoming a sub-.500 team. (Of course, this year we passed .500 long ago, but even worse for it to become a long-term trend...)

Sorry, but it's time for heads to roll. There's speculation that Pagano may be fired by the Colts. If so, hire him back immediately and show Pees the door. Put a bunch of these sorry-@$$ "veterans" on the bench and give the 2nd-stringers a try -- they can't be much worse than these overpaid door stops we've got now.

Something's gotta give. 1-5...1-5....mannnnn the Jags have won 1 game this year! This Ravens team is absolutely horrendous. I can't stand to watch another game! Until some changes are made, I won't waste another minute watching this team play. Seriously

Hey, we actually play the Jags in a couple of weeks! Now that we've lost to the Raiders, Browns and 9ers, that might be a real game! I'd actually kinda like to see if these knuckleheads can lose to Jacksonville too. I bet we can! How low we can sink before SOMEBODY STARTS FIRING SOMEBODY!?!?

Ray Lewis should be hired as the Defensive Coordinator replacing Dean Pees. He certainly would bring a level of fire that's been missing for a few years. Heck, bring back Ed Reed as the secondary coach as well....just saying.

1. I thought we should have spiked the ball also. Losing the down wouldn't have hurt us as much in that situation as losing all that time.

2. The whole point of replay is to make the game more fair, so they should do something to fix the system so the coach of the visiting team doesn't have to take a shot in the dark because he can't get a good look at it. With the extra 40 secs we could have saved with that TO, our offense would have had time to score.

this is a rebuilding year, like it or not.

I don't see much rebuilding, just a ton of injuries. We came into the year with the exact same o-line, RB, QB, and #1 WR as last year. The defense kept all their key players except Ngata. Rebuilding is when you start over with new core players. The Ravens didn't do that this year. Having bad luck and giving games away with unforced mistakes isn't rebuilding.

Kubiak is probably laughing so hard right now down in Denver, I'd rather have Cam Cameron back over this scrub Trestman. Not to mention, anybody notice how much better the Chicago Bears/Cutler have become ever since Trestman left that organization. If you were to tell me before the season started that the Chicago "freaking" Bears would have a better "freaking" record going into week 7 than the Ravens, Id laugh in your face. Welp, Now we're the Joke of the NFL and Harbs, you need to make a midseason coordinator change ASAP, bc clearly it aint working and you're losing the team.

This is just a bad, bad football team. The coaching is bad. The players are bad. Coach says players are TRYING to go fast! You don't TRY to go fast. You either go fast or you don't. The players decided not to do so and Harbs defends them. SMH. Harbs TOs and challenges horrendous yet he defends the decisions. Doesn't matter though if he admitted mistakes anyway as it wouldn't make the team any better. Flacco, man, he's playing worse than his rookie year. The team is just about the worse in the NFL. How did the Ravens get here? Don't use injuries as an excuse. There are teams with backup and journeymen QBs playing far better than the Ravens. The lack of urgency has finally permeated throughout the entire team, coaches and players. All that is left to find out is what urgency will Bisciotti have once this disastrous season is over.

Agree!

Don't think Harbs will lose his job, but may/should be put on notice...(Again?)  The one consistency with this team the last three seasons is:  they start out flat and listless; there are arguable too many practice injuries coming into the season; and lots of excuses for lack of discipline (penalties), and lack of execution of the fundamentals on the field.

As you stated, "bad football" out the gate!

Not gonna blame it ALL on Dean Pees (though, he deserves some), when we have a highly paid CB who allows an aging - good, but still, old in football years - slow receiver (maybe the slowest receiver in the league at this point...and not to mention almost every receiver he's faced this season) get behind him for a huge play...part of his consistency, this year, is getting burnt!  We have DBs waiting until the ball is caught before reacting to, and of course, not making plays. As a whole each group consistently miss tackles (rooks and vets alike...and we thought it was just Elam), and are not aggressive enough on the football.
I have crowned us the DUMBEST team in the NFL!  At what point in this debacle of a season do you NOT look at yourself on third/fourth down and say from your gut, "I will NOT cost this unit, my crew, to stay out here for another set of downs!"  Yet, this clown act CONSISTENTLY draws Hands To The Face, Defensive Holding, Illegal Contact, Roughing The Passer, Pass Interference, Lining Up In The Neutral Zone (HUH?), Face Mask, Encroachment, Offsides...did I miss any?
At this point, if Pees has to go then so does the rest of the defensive coaching staff...and, at least, half of the defensive unit!
Play Like A Raven!!!
Coach Like A Raven!!!
Dammit!!!

1-3 in preseason with a last second win against new Orleans, and a lucky ot win in pitt cuz there field kicker missed to short fields, should be 0-10 really.

Again we hear, we have got to fix this, get better, execute, same old same old. First you have got to have something to fix before you can fix it. I don't know what game Harbs was watching but if that is hustle at the end of the game he should watch other teams game film to see real hustle, that was a fast walk at best. The interception that Flacco threw directly to the 9er player I think was a what's the use throw. Don't give me the crap about not being frustrated, you need to be frustrated we are.

Harbaugh is making statements that every fan already is aware of. The team needs to improve in every area. They seem a bit lost once the game starts and players are not able to do what they should have been doing in practice all week. Harbs has all of the answers though week after week. He takes the heat and promises to make improvement. He can't with what he has on the field. Castoffs from losing teams that are picked up and thrown into the mix. Way to many injuries and a lackluster approach to game planning by himself and hs staff. No matter what is said, prior to the next game, it is the same thing every week now. Mistakes, missed assignments, int', penalties still appear throughout the games. The team is leaderless in the locker room and that is the fault of the head coach who has ran off everyone of the type A leaders that we have had on this team. He wants full control and he now has it. It is not surprising to me that not one player is willing to step up and be vocal in a leadership type of way. To do that will get you a ticket out of this town. It is his team now and he can take all of the heat for it's failure to win.

we are putting up points, were usually just giving up 1-6 more. That would be on the defense.

At this point, I'm actually excited about our team. We certainly suck but I'm sure we'll get this ship sailing again (most likely next year or two) and we'll be better off for it.

I think this year (and last) can be attributed to the "Bargain mentality". We used to be really good at letting players go when it was time and OTHER TEAMS would suffer the thoughts that they will propel their team to the top (See Ed Reed). We've been picking up cast offs and bargain hunting for a couple years now and it's got us in a bind. It's always nice to get a bargain but we probably shouldn't have done it across the board with all our players and coaches.

Lesson learned now, let's dig out of it and get back to where we belong!

GO RAVENS!

Did the "Money ball" idea backfire on them?
