[News] Justin Tucker Won't Use Sinkhole As An Excuse

33 posts in this topic

That missed FG (can't really blame Tucker on that one) was crucial.  We were able to get into his range for a game winning FG the last 30 seconds of the game.

thats admirable, but its also very stupid. Nobody can kick accurately when their plant leg gets swallowed by the field. I hate how sports culture has players and coaches saying abjectly dumb things that dont make any sense. Of course the sink hole is an excuse; an absolutely legit one.

Hmmm......I've searched all the newswires and have yet to find any news about a "sinkhole" in San Francisco.

Not your fault Justin. To have a field being played on in the NFL that is that unstable is completely on SF ownership and the NFL for not doing anything about this. The field issues in the new SF stadium are not exactly a secret.

Ravens still have their starting Quarterback, starting running back their 1# starting receiver, and their offensive line intact so don't want to here the we can't get a break.

I agree with the sentiment that I'm glad he didn't hurt himself. You don't really expect the ground to give out under you.

This is without a doubt pathetic at best. I had a friend who said... "Well, both teams had to deal with it." Truthfully??? NO TEAM should have to deal with that.

We love you Tuck... Hang in there dude. We cannot expect more out of you. That is all.

Billion plus dollars for a sinkhole ridden stadium. PATHETIC! Thank God Tucker survived it. Oh and I'll blame it on the sinkhole for Tucker. I didnt see Niners kickers foot disappearing ankle deep into the ground because of a random sinkhole. So both teams didnt have to deal with it

Seeing the photo of how deep Tuckers foot had sunk under the turf, to actually make that field goal while having your plant leg go out from under you seems impossible. Rotten luck, yes... Tucker's fault, no way.

Can't really be too mad at Tucker for missing that kick, and I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt since he's not the one causing problems on the team.

Phil Dawson kicked a few more times than Tucker did without falling down. Are we cursed?

I doubt that Dawson planted his foot in the EXACT same spot on the field that Tucker did when he missed.

Seeing how Justin went down on that potential FG was pretty scary...... First thing I thought of is, WTH would this team do if he had been hurt from that sink hole??? Players like him, Yanda, Suggs (even though he is actually hurt and out), and yes, even Joe, I don't even want to think about having to replace any of them..... As we have seen with Terrell, we definitely have NOT been able to replace him.... :(

Justin's lucky he didn't injure himself. You can easily tear a muscle with something silly like that.

Or twist an ankle.  When he first went down, I was holding my breath until he got up.  Seems worthy of a complaint to the league office - opposing teams are supposed to provide safe facilities to play in.  If he had been hurt, we would have been up you-know-what creek without a rowing object.

I agree this should be a major complaint to the league. Tucker is the one bright spot left on this team. If he breaks an ankle due to faulty turf, somebody needs to be sued. SF, Pittsburgh, fix your crappy fields!
