[News] Shareece Wright Struggles In Ravens Debut

52 posts in this topic

@PurpleDawg96, do the math. Wright got burnt on two TD's. Flacco's INT's, while not acceptable, only led to two FG's so it's pretty clear at the end of the day that Wright's mistakes cost the team more than Flacco's mistakes did.

My DVR has 5 losses and 1 win, I can't keep watching us beat the Steelers when I need some during the week football, I'm starting to believe I watch more tape than the players. I feel bad for guys like Dumervil, Smith Sr, Mosley, D.Smith, Yanda and Forsett to name a few. Their mojo is going to waste...

Is this why the 49's got rid of him, we had good corners and we had good safety's but we let them all go, because somebody thought we could do more or the same thing with less, but you can't for you get what you pay for, for if you pay less you get less, if you pay more you get more, we've should have kept what we had, for that team won a Superbowl!!!

This is the worst group of players and coaches the Ravens have ever put together and Ozzie record in draft picks lately sure does not give much hope for the future.

Just like last year, you can cut these lousy DBs, but in the end, there are no FAs out there who can improve the secondary.

We constantly bring in Corners & Safties...Every DB we bring in can't be this terrible. I said it earlier this year we all complained about Darian Stewart & his performance last season, Then he goes to another team with new coaches and is starting in a top 10 defense this year(and sealed the game on us). We need new coaches. we DONT have "the men for the job" as Harbs likes to say..or atleast just saying to keep composure. We've had a ton of talent come in over the past few years that Pees & staff has been here that either were great before they came to Baltimore or were Bad here, left, and did greater things. Im praying for an over haul in coaching staff.

anquan boldin said something to the affect after the niners win today, that teams don't even try to keep the same players around nowadays, especially after good seasons, which to me is stupid. he mentioned how by keeping the same great players on a team for multiple years is why the niners were a dynasty and won so much so consistently during the 80's and 90's. now, it's like gm's are saying, 'hey, we did good this year, these guys we got are great, but let's get rid of most of them so we don't have to pay them all, and see if we can do better without them. we'll just get some rookies and some cheap free agents and they will do much better than the team we had last year'. the forty niners and ravens are both shells of the teams they were when they battled in the superbowl. at least the ravens can pretty much blame it on injuries this year.

That's what OZ likes to do. Trent played a key role in going to and winning Superbowl 35 and he is the firs tone OZ cuts. It took 12 years to get back. Boldin looked unstoppable in 2012 Superbowl run and was cut .

Just my opinion, but Harbs shouldn't have called the guy out like that in the presser. I mean he was only here for less than a week, staying late to learn one of the most complicated defenses in the NFL.Ā Ā It isn't like he was the only one making mistakes out there today, why single him out. That really not a good look Harbs, and not a good way to motivate a team that's already down.Ā  Didn't Harbs just say last week that this is a team of grown men and that they know whatĀ they need to do?Ā  As someone wise once said when you point a finger at someone, the other 3 are pointing back at you.

Calling out Shareece in the presser is Harbs' way of calling out Ozzie for allowing the secondary to crumble for the second year in a row. Hope is not a strategy, and hoping for Webb to stay healthy is foolish. To be fair, the Ravens were in cap hell. Just need to chalk this one up as a rebuilding season and make every decision with next year in mind, when we will have significantly more cap space.

Finger pointing and excuses, the mark of a team mind set that knows the truth about itself but won't admit it. Rejects, replacements wearing purple&black but not Raven football players are taking the field now. Ozzie? Ozzie...............................what happened?.

i don't think that Harbs' was calling out Wright necessarily to attack Ozzy or even Wright. Yeah the 2 big plays that were the 49ers only 2 touchdowns were on him. I think he is frustrated even though he says he doesn't get frustrated. he has to be. He believes, the team believes, and true Raven's fans believe that this team is better than this and we should be 6-0 right now. if this loss falls on anybody, i would say it is the defense as a whole and more specifically Pees. First off, Pees should have never thrown Wright in there without giving him help on the back side for the big plays since he has only been here for 4 days. the pass to smith for the TD it looked like Wright thought he had safety help. i understand this is the NFL, but you can't just come into you first game all season and defend one of the fastest players in the NFL. Second, did anyone else realize that the defense once again had a crucial penalty (Jimmy Smith this time, Babin last week, Jernigan against the Bengals, Web against the Raiders, and Hill against the Broncos) after stopping the offense on 3rd down to give them a fresh set of downs leading to the 49ers giving Flacco a little over a minute to drive down the field vice over 2 1/2 minutes. Also, does anyone else agree that when our CBs play up on our receivers and are agressive on the line we have one of the greatest secondaries? why are we normally in this 8 yrd cushion defense and letting offenses pick us apart constantly (another issue i have with Pees). i would understand a 2-3 yrd cushion even a 4yrd cushion max, but when your standing 24ft away from someone that is a lot of directions you can go by the time you get up to full speed and our CBs are caught standing flat footed. If Pees cannot condition his secondary to play the game correctly he needs to leave and let someone who can do this job. SSS is giving the Ravens everything he has and i truly believe he is willing to leave the NFL in a wheelchair if he has to, but he can't make every play by himself. the whole team is dragging, the offense was lightly jogging on their last drive killing 20 seconds on the clock. SSS does not deserve this as his farewell season and i hope they can talk him into coming back for another year, because no HOF player should end his career with his team's record tied at the bottom of the AFC with the Jaguars. Also in my opinion, Ozzy should go out and bring in Wes Welker to give Joe a strong 3rd option in the slot.

I disagree- don't matter how long he's been here- these guys are supposed to be pros - they get paid millions of dollars and it's his JOB whether he was here for 5 minutes or 5 years. Fail to do your job and you will get called on it.

I honestly feel Like I could beat this guy out at corner. Teams could win just by throwing deep on us every single play and abandoning the run. Just like the pats game last year. Nothins changed. Our guys just never turn and look for the ball! Il never understand it- you could have so many interceptions if you would actually just turn around and go after it. Oh yeah being able to catch helps too. We had atleast 3 easy picks dropped. Can't believe these guys get paid like they do.

The mistake was Pees leaving him alone on a island 1 on 1 with T.Smith with no safety help.....Soon as Kap saw that match-up, he knew where he was going.....

Lemme see if I got this right. You signed a practice squad guy off of a below average team that also has one of the bottom dwelling secondaries this year. Then not only did you activate him 4 days later, but you MADE HIM A STARTER against the first team receivers on his old team that have been burning him in practice since training camp.

But if that wasn't enough of a set up, you called press man coverage without any safety help over the top against one of the fastest receivers in the NFL?

And then you proceed to not only chew him out during the game but throw him inder the bus in the presser afterwards?

Harbs can deny that he's 'frustrated' and play senantics all he wants, but the reality is he's upset that a terrible decision to move on from Torrey was exposed

Way to go Harbaugh...Call out one of your players! Take a look in the mirror! What happen to keeping that stuff in the locker room! Sounds like someone is getting frustrated! I'm sorry...didn't last week you tell the media that you DON'T EVER GET FRUSTRATED!! Hmmm who's that behind me??? Hey Steve!!

Everyone's coverage sucks even Jimmy Smith It's been that way the whole year. The safeties are garbage as well. No scheme will be able to make up for poor coverage skills. Plenty of NFL teams with supposed lack luster secondary's playing way better than us. Pats and Squeelers come to mind. I love my Ravens but this is some horrible football were playing

Yep. It would be our luck to seeĀ MelvinĀ picked up and succeed like Stewart.

It was easy for John to do that because it was not " His Guy" This was Jimmy's. How about criticizing Ozzie for all the goofballs on this team and the coaches that have no NFL experience.

Can't wait till the press coverage after the Monday night game when all the sports fans and players are watching the Ravens on Monday Night against the Cardinals. There is no Ray Lewis to keep this team from imploding or anyone else for that matter. John made sure of that.
