[News] The Breakdown: Eisenberg's Five Thoughts vs. 49ers

86 posts in this topic

The guys on the NFL Network were calling out the Ravens and questioning their desire when they were jogging and walking up the field in the final minute. Now I know what it would have felt like to be a Browns or Jaqs fan the last 10 years. Season always over before Halloween.

I'm a little excited to see what we can do in the draft with a possible top 5 pick. It will be darn near impossible to miss on that round 1 selection. Just imagine what Ozzie could do picking at the top of every round! and we have 4 4th round picks this year. Right in Ozzies wheel house.

Only hope is shoot for .500.  That was too hard to watch and certainly unbearable to support.   There is a reason Shareece Wright was cut .  He was like an internal implosion. TWO TD's.  He looked like a deer in the headlights in high school rookie camp.  His technique flat out sucks.

Joe gets his elite chance with 1:06 and no time outs.  He should have been screaming at those guys to move their laird butts to scrimmage.  Oh well ,The Cards are due next week with a chip on their shoulder after our arch rivals disposed of them.

Flacco is a bum, Harbs continues to prove that the ONE thing he actually controls during games, time management, he's absolutely terrible at. And Yeah, Boldin and Torrey did get the last laugh....they showed us that we actually had a good WR tandem when they were around, and proved that it was actually players like them, that made Joe look even halfway decent. Now that they're both gone? Steve Smith Sr. ain't enough to hide just how exposed Joe is without his old security blankets. An "elite" QB would succeed with and find a way to elevate the offensive talent we've got right now. Joe cannot. That is the defining difference, and why he has never been "elite". He had one great run in the 2012 playoffs. And that's pretty much it.

Torrey Smith 2015 Totals: 14 receptions, 323 yards, 2 TDs, $8,000,000.00 Salary

Kamar Aiken 2015 Totals: 18 receptions, 265 yards, 2 TDs, $   585,000.00 Salary

So, do the numbers say that Joe elevated Torrey to a #1 WR and now that he's gone, he's become Kamar Aiken? Or does that say that Joe elevated Kamar to as good a WR as Torrey? Either way, the numbers prove your theory wrong. Given the same production, I'll take the guy that saves me $7 million in salary cap space.

Torrey's last laugh is on the 49ers for paying him TOP WR money while giving them Kamar Aiken numbers.

use the rest of the season as preseason for next year, 10 games as preseason to put in place for next year. plenty of time to evaluate by positions and to get rid of the dead wood players. 2 more loses takes them out of the playoff picture as history shows.so might as well prepare for next season.

The good news is Justin Tucker helped the Ravens save money by giving them a reason not to make him the highest paid kicker in NFL. This and Flacco being more than likely to agree to restructure his contract.

With no time outs, needing a TD to win, my exasperation reached an all time high as precious seconds are ticking off the clock and our offense was not running to the line of scrimmage to spike the ball to stop the clock? I don't care if the odds are 1 in a million to make that winning TD, I expect every Raven to give 100% hustle, focus, effort and intensity in that situation.

That's a constant in time and game management. He seemed to get a little better from his first few years but regressed into costly unwarranted mistakes. You need time-outs when you trail by the score. The organization's not thinking ahead or in the present day. And it and it starts in the Head Office.

I'm not as enthusiastic as you.  If he doesn't pick a position of need with great value, it's a waste of the pick. If you can't pay top talent at key positions because you handcuffed your chances of succeeding. The over spending on contracts for aging vets also stymies these chances.

Among the Raven's problems which doomed this season is one that stands out. Our batting average concerning our early draft picks has taken a beating in recent years. We need to get this figured out or we will be at the bottom looking up for a long time.

My only hope is that we can muster two or three more wins. The entire team has fallen apart and it showed yesterday with no urgency to win. No on field leadership with coaches who seem content with just riding out the season. Trestman doesn't have a clue and Pees is still stuck in Defense 101. There is something symbolic when your field goal kicker( the hero of our times) falls flat on his butt.

you almost made a point if it werent for ignoring a very important factor in your anlysis: Kaepernick.

The numbers say Kaepernick is a bad quarterback and Kamar aiken is a bad receiver. The numbers say that 1 + -1 = 0. The numbers say that this myth the majority of you fans hold that only one part of the passing game equation has to be good in order for it all to work is exactly that: a myth.

At this point I don't care what's wrong with our defense, something has to give. True Wright got burned, but our entire defense got embarrassed by a so so inconsistent offense. Hard game to watch.

Too many throws off the back foot by Flacco that ended up as picks; INEXCUSABLE!!!!

Ozzie and Co get an F for the team they put together this year. To think Aiken and Brown were starters; these dudes didn't even make it on other teams practice squads!!! At this point we're better off letting the rookies out there getting game experience instead of these guys cause they won't be back next year, well at least they shouldn't be back!!

Harbs, instead of yelling on Wright for your beloved DC's screw ups (that even the commentators can recognize, but apparently you can't) you should start thinking about who to draft with the 3rd pick of the 2016 draft. Because that's where we're headed with your leadership.

I really believe the fans have given up! I don't think the players have thank goodness. Get a grip folks its a long season and there will be more losses I am sure. Next game please.

1. Poor clock management

2. No hustle

3. Stop throwing the challenge flag

4. Wright not the solution

5. Great O-Line play

Agree with b9333, we have not gotten anything recently out of the early rounds of the draft which should be legit players in the league. Arthur Brown, Elam, Brooks, Perriman just to name a few. Depending on picking up cut players and undrafted players is why we have this mess.

Huh?  What about the Players the Ravens have scored on?  CJ Mosely and Timmy Jernigan have star potential.  Matt Williams has a chance to evolve into a really solid tight end.  Perriman has his entire career ahead of him and who knows what he could develop into.  Has plenty of potential but there is no way to project a player who is prone to injury.  Sure, Arthur Brown and Elam haven't done anything, but what about other players chosen and in that draft.  Ricky Wagner was one of the highest rated right tackles in the league last year and Brandon Williams is a flat out stud at DT.   Two first round talents at their respective position to make up for the Elam and Brown misses.  And what about Kyle Juscyzk who is just a good all around football player himself?

Ozzie and the Ravens have a clear history of success in the draft and continue to showcase it.  Whining about players not panning out is pointless.  Not every player chosen high or low in the draft will become superstars; that will always be the case.  But to create an argument that the Ravens don't drat well is simply absurd.
