[News] The Breakdown: Eisenberg's Five Thoughts vs. 49ers

86 posts in this topic

5 thoughts. 1. Cant stop even a bad qb from looking like joe montana...what will we do when we face a good qb again???? 2. We scored 20 points again and lost. 3. Week 7 and our defense looks lost and at least 8 or 9 occasions today???? 4. Tuckers misses will actually help us to re-sign him 5. Can we get rid of Pees yet?

With no time outs, needing a TD to win, my exasperation reached an all time high as precious seconds are ticking off the clock and our offense was not running to the line of scrimmage to spike the ball to stop the clock? I don't care if the odds are 1 in a million to make that winning TD, I expect every Raven to give 100% hustle, focus, effort and intensity in that situation.

Smith and Boldin, not good enough for the Ravens, huh.We could use just one of them now. A major upheaval coming in the offseason.

how can we not stop any QB in the NFL... every QB puts up big numbers against us. Carr, McCown, Dalton, Colin K, it dont matter who is back there... we will make them look good!

i feel it's time to get on the phone with the local pee-wee league teams to look for talent.. they could have played better.. the offense looks identical to the Cruddy Chicago Bears of last year and the defense can't stop a 12 year old with a gimp. seriously baltimore needs to play for the draft at this point. harass the division, ruin their day.. but ultimately play for the top pick in 2016 and free up cap space to buy a receiving corps. smith is retiring, and not only will we not have a viable #1.. we won't have a viable #2-6 either. draft all defense.. honestly, i would can pees and trestman. beg pagano to come back when he inevitably get canned from the colts and while some may hate me for this.. offer brian billick money to come back as the OC.. he may e a bad head coach, but he knows how the ravens' offense is supposed to work like no other. if you let him focu on he play calling only i think he could actually get the offense back on track. it's obvious he still has love for the ravens and if offered the right price, he may do it.

5 thoughts: 1.)Today Ravens watched the guys they let go out play the guys they paid. 2.) Pees using a CB they just pulled off the street to cover a deep threat like Torrey in coverage zero is just another example of his stupidity. Fire him already 3.) Flacco won't have leverage to demand money from OZ. Inconsistency in coaching and mostly below average receivers are more reasons to be careful not foolish with the football 4.) Poor coaching continues. Poor use of challenges and time outs, no halftime adjustments, lack of urgency in critical situations. Are the players listening to coaches? 5.)Time to hold OZ and Harbs feet to the fire. Poor draft picks. Poor decision on who to keep and who to offer contracts, ignoring the skill positions, up against the CAP every season, poor hiring of coaching (Cam, Mattison, Pees, Caldwell year 2). This mess is bigger than talent level and injuries

Side Note, J Tuck's missed field goal was a bad spot on the Turf, were lucky he didn't injure his ankle. If you watch the replay, his entire foot disappeared in to the turf. The NFL needs to inspect all fields better, no wonder there are so Many Torn ACL's and Achilles every year....

John, I know we've had this talk before. I don't like it when your five thoughts is just a recap of the game. We all saw the game. You need to do better, I want more insightful commentary. Think Jim Palmer, not Mike Bordick.

The grass there seriously needs to be remedied. They're gonna hold a SB there?! Think if a slip like that costs a team a championship...and you thought the lights going out got a lot of media traction...?

John, I am weary of your 5 thoughts week after week after week. Weary mostly because we lost to opponents that we shouldn't lose to. Weary because excuses come easy to us it seems. Bottom line is we lost a winnable game and we lost because there was no sense of urgency in the final 75 seconds. It was almost comical the saunter led by Flacco as time was running out to get plays started or even to spike the ball. Just a sad outing and it is becoming expected sadly.

I wonder, whats going on in the locker room, seems like Harbaugh and Ozzie has lost control of it, for no one seems to be able to make plays the way we use to make them defense or offense, are they listening to Harbs and Ozzie or are they just that inferior that they can't make the plays!!! All I hear is we've got to do better but they are not, we are now 1 and 5 can Harbaugh and Ozzie stop the skid in the wrong direction, has the team lost confidence in them being able to motivate them to play to highest standards of their abilities or are they just unable to do this. Are the Ravens in rebuilding mode, for that would explain a lot, but that is not what Harbs and Ozzie have been saying, just what is going on with the Ravens at this time, it's time to stop talking about doing better and do it, for people are getting tired of excuses!!!

Not a single player on that offense looked grateful to play in the NFL on the final drive. Disgusting lack of urgency.

Unbelievable! And this has been an issue in the past too..........what happened to the no huddles and two minute drills we were told would come???? Awful, awful team.

Ozzy, how did it feel to see the weapons you traded away kick our butts.

Seeing Q get traded stung when it happened.  Torrey, not so much.  Bet it won't be long before the "Torrey Ready to Break Out" articles start mounting on the 9ers site lol.

Bad draft picks, bad contracts ,bad coaching asst, tough schedule, third string players brought in, cap trouble, high dead money what kind of record did you exspect? I would have given three years to get back but I don't like Jimmy smith contract. Now you have Joe Jimmy and Webb top three.

Flacco another interception(2), SSS a great game but had two dropped potential TD's that became FGs, Harbs another wasted challenge that cost the Ravens a needed TO for the final drive, Jimmy Smith a missed interception, the refs a ticky- tack penalty to extend a drive when the game is on the line (yes there was contact , but it was within 5 yds and Boldin was pushing/holding just as much as Smith - it's time the refs let the players play and decide the game on the field instead of the yellow flag!!!), the defense who can't stop a long drive for a TD in the fourth qtr making it a two score game. a defense that can't tackle, a defense that doesn't ball hawk anymore, no one but Forsett able to gain yardage as a RB, why we continue to have Marlon Brown on the field (one catch for 10 yards). It's a good thing Aikens caught the ball in the end zone, Brown would have miffed. Do we wonder why the Ravens lose.

I wonder how much money Biscotti keeps losing, as fans continue to not buy merchandise, and get more and more disgusted with the defense losing games. Folks are dumping tickets left and right, everybody wants Pees gone, but it looks like Harbaugh is the only one wanting him around. The players are clearly not responding to him,he puts himself up on the pedestal, like its all the players fault, not his. Smh

as frustrated and upset i get about players failures to live and play up to their potential; the truth is, i am really disappointed. disappointed that problems were not fixed over the off season. the ravens knew the problems and decided to put band-aids to fix them. the d secondary has be trouble, recieving has been trouble and leadership in the locker room is gone. the disappointment is that the hype was super bowl or bust. well i guest it is bust. i like to be the optimist and say the ravens will get lucking in arizona next week and repair the problems and go on a ten game run and be right back in it. but i watch these guys and their is no team play. example would be reed snatching a pick then lateraling it to another player so they can get more yards or a possible touchdown. or, the swarming to make the tackle or using the fifty as the as the guide to prevent teams to pass. these guys in purple just don't seem inspire each other.

That final holding penalty on Jimmy was pretty questionable. You are allowed to have your hands on the receiver inside of 5 yards, and that receiver was running a drag route well inside 5.

Also the NFL needs to set standards for the fields these teams play on. A bad knee injury for Kendrick Lewis and a chunk of turf giving way on Tucker's kick. With the rash of knee injuries across the league the past few years, they should set some sort of standard for player safety.

5 Thoughts we are all thinking..

1) When are we firing Pees?

2) Are we ever going to see Perriman?

3) What's the update on Pitta coming off PUP?

4) Who are we selecting with the #1 Overall pick next year?

5) Is there anyway we can bribe Smitty to come back another year..
