you missed the point. If we can compete with every single team we've played and come that close to victory while still playing so horribly, imagine if we actually start playing well. Ofcourse a loss is a loss but coming that close gives you hope that if we start executing and eliminating the bonehead mistakes that we are not THAT far off from being a winning football team and it will probably only take a few adjustments this offseason to get us right back in the mix.

No I didn't miss the point man!  I just made my statement of being 1-5 for good reasons based off of your statement of what we could be "if" we played well!  But, we're not playing well and bad teams lose in like fashion the way the Ravens are losing because of poor play....regardless of how close these games are.  That was my point!

people are trying to make sound the cards are beatable because the squeelers beat them with 3rd string qb, but u got remember that steelers have 3 good WRs that can stretch the D. their D has been revived .

We have 32, 1 1/2 good receivers and 3 good TEs.  And our D is going to be...........oh never mind.   lol

Good thing Fantasy points are no real indication of winning or losing. I'm starting Palmer and their defense lol. But still rooting for my subpar Ravens of course.

Who are the 5 or 6 teams that we are beating before the year is out?

Jaguars, Rams, Browns and Chiefs we have a good chance of beating. I'll say another game we pull out. I'll knock it down and say we finish either 5-12 or 6-10

We could but at the same time it is hard to have faith that we beat those guys after losing to the Browns(at home no less) and 49ers in back to back weeks. Of course knowing our luck, we will turn it on at the end of the season and go 7-9 or something lol

Am I crazy thinking that we have a good shot at beating Cards if our D plays OK? Nothing special, just OK.

Probably. There's nothing worse than playing a home team that just had an ugly road loss. Then again, maybe we can be their trap game. :-)

I don't think that's crazy at all. And I think the D does somehow find a way to be respectable and the Good Guys win this game.

I've got that feeling as well. However my "feelings" have been completely off this year so far so who knows what's gonna happen. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

The Steelers were their trap game. : )

How can they when you said the following....

lol...... Ray Ray was a great football player for the Ravens, but his rhetoric is getting old and worn out.

It did hurt to lose Sizzle and his leadership, but at the end of the day we're losing because we've had a ton of injuries and the secondary sucks. It ain't freakin' rocket science!

Maybe Ray shows up to give a pep talk.   lol

I admit I don't have entirely good feelings about this game. Palmer often had our number when he was on the Bengals and the Card's Pass defense is looking good.  Maybe Forsett has an amazing running game this week, but still, this is going to be rough sailing on Monday night.

I love the fact that we will have the Bengals and the Steelers when we already know we were out of playoff race, so we are playing the dark horse, ruining their seeding, playoff wildcard spot, or playoff home game advantage.  It's going to be their trap game, like someone said...haha

I can't wait for that.....we will play pissed off disrespectful don't give a crap nothing to lose football....

Not crazy at all. Our D is the primary reason we suck. If you score over 23, statistics show that you should win.

We're scoring an average of 23.8 points a game, 11th best in the NFL. The median of average points scored across the league is about 22.4. This is remarkable when you consider the lack of defensive turnovers

We're allowing an average of 27 points a game, sixth worst in the NFL. The median is 23.8. (Mean is probably more accurate but I'm a lazy butt today)

We're scoring above the average and allowing much more than the average. Defense is problem. It's actually funny to note that our offense is scoring the exact same amount of points as the median points allowed. We're doing enough on offense to win.

You sure we'll play pissed off? I'm not sure I see that happening with this team right now. I would've expected them to play like that against the Niners, Steelers, Bengals, or even the Browns. I'm not sure this team even gets pissed off.

Well at least the fans get pissed off... lol.

At this point, I'm not one of them.

At this point I'm more like the Capt. Picard face palm meme.

This would have been a great opportunity for Terrence Brooks, IMO he could steal the starting FS job and help us determine if he can answer our problems at FS. Too bad he's hurt, now we have Brandon Trawick starting....Yeah....

Umm yeah, hopefully they go into the game against the Steelers ready to play. We should have lost by a touchdown to them without their QB, all pro running back and second best WR. If we don't come in ready to play as a team, we will lose by 21 in our own house.

Also, people tend to forget because we all love to throw out how we only lost by a couple points in all our games, but against the Bengals, didn't we stop them on 4th and goal and then they also threw a pic inside the 10? They convert those and the game is ugly before the 4th quarter.

So yeah, hopefully they are pissed and come ready to play against them. Because if not, we will get embarrassed.

Naw!  I wouldn't want Ray to show up for this team at all!  Let'em crash and burn and learn and find their own way like he and the others from the inaugural Ravens team did! That's what his comments were all about in the first place to me.  Let's see who on this squad rises to the occassion on their own.  It not enough to just be the "face" of a team in picture only.  Hell, my main man Ray Lewis has a statue out front of M&T Bank Stadium cementing all that he has meant to this team and the city of Baltimore.  Who else on this present roster can rise to that level?  I'm waiting to see'em...............

lol, I was joking about the pep talk.

Ray Lewis is gone, there won't be another. That's why he has a statue! I for one am not looking for anyone to fill those shoes, and neither should you. As someone mentioned, as the team fills the voids and the D again becomes strong the leaders will naturally show. Will we ever be as good as the 2000 or 2006 Ravens D? Probably not. And I doubt any other team in the NFL will ever field a D as dominate as those squads. The system as it is now doesn't allow for it.

edit....Didn't mean for this to spill over to this thread. Beat the cards!

With Kendrick is Brooks out we will likely have either TRAWICK or KYLE starting at FS against on of the next WR cores in the league. Good lord.

I kow bro!  Lol!

We all know there will never ever be another Ray Lewis...personally!  And, I don't want there to be cause then it is just an imitation or clone.  I want to see the true leader emerge from this roster.  What I want to see (the way I took it from Ray's interview) is who is going to be "THAT GUY" that can truly pull this team together for a cause?  It's more than speeches or the "rah-rah" stuff as someone here has mentioned.  Along with the multiple injuries and lack of playmaking personnel, there are the intangibles of leadership that seem to be missing from this squad imo.  Things that you can't coach like passion, intensity, relentlessness and attention to detail etc.  Those types of things carry you in the bad times!  And no!  You won't always win a game from them but damnit...it sure is great to see in action!  :DB)

BEAT THE CARDINALS....PLEASE!!!
