The Good, the bad and ugly vs 49ers

as Wizard has been saying........its easy to be a great coach when you have a stable of Kentucky Derby horses...........

But....take the Derby horses away and try to coach up swaybacks and you find out just how good a coach is.

lol......c'mon man! Don't throw out quotes from that steelers troll.

So? When ray lewis went down, we won the super bowl.

Yeah, but Ray refused to stay down and came back to lead the way ~ all the way!

This team used to be very physical and good at inflicting their will on other teams and we are just not seeing that type of play from these guys. NO SWAGGER AND NO URGENCTY.

Called up Magee...did not use him, and cut Charles James , whom we could have used!!!WHY

We had to make the move yesterday if we wanted Magee on the roster.  It seems Forsett really was a pre-game warm up decision, and we had to have a reinforcement just in case.

I'm all for bringing Ray and Ed in..........and anyone who objects we can be sent packing.

I think Ed and Ray would actually be the one's to object, since there's no indication they want anything to do with coaching.

I don't think Shareece Wright is a good player at all, but Harbaugh basically singling him out kind of irks me.  He's been here for less than a week and we left him on an island without safety help against Torrey Smith.  I'm pretty sure we know what a threat Torrey is 1-on-1.  Kind of ridiculous, if you ask me.  It's easy to put some plays on Shareece Wright, but the coaching staff did him no favors either.

That was rather strange. He was beat soundly on the first TD, and it was relatively apparent that he could very well be out of his depth moving forward. No adjustments were made to his role, and Wright was unsurprisingly whipped for another score in one on one coverage. I understand that a player should be counted on to have short memory, but based on what he's put on tape for several seasons, he came into the game with a low ceiling and I don't feel that it was accounted for.

But he had guys, like Suggs and Reed behind him. Who do the current Ravens have as that fire? Sure, you've got quiet leaders, like Daryl, but no one who will get in their faces and fire them up.

Besides, I'm sure a lot of people will argue it was Ray's return (pretty sure the Ravens started a losing skid without Lewis, anyway) and his announcement to retire that gave the Ravens a spark

Even with this offense and defense, if we learn to finish drives when we get within 10 yards (been a problem for years now), we can still win a lot more games. We don't have a good redzone td %. Idk how to fix it though, maybe get more creative with play-calling in the redzone?

I think what upsets me more than anything is our attitude. The team doesn't seem like it consistently plays to win. I honestly feel like fans here care more that the team wins than the actual players do when I watch them. That's a real problem for me. I wouldn't be mad or take losing badly if we played hard and just got beat straight-up. The problem is we are really in these games and can win them all, but we are clearly far away from winning due to attitude.

Perhaps victory has defeated us? Lol. I've referenced Batman a lot lately. I need to go watch it. The problem for me is I just don't like to lose. It's not that I am OK with losing, but I could stomach losing more if we put our heart out there and lost. This just isn't what I like to see.

The execution during the last drive was pathetic. I even called on the offensive possession before, they were going g to slow then. Coaching has been awful this seasob, from a HC stand point. Too many dumb penalties and lack of fire. It's disgusting.

Yeah I don't see any fire out there at all from anyone but Steve Smith and Joe Flacco that one time where he slammed his helmet.  Every week, we just seem to be so flat out there.

Yeah. Peace has cost us our strength. Victory has defeated us.

The good new is that I think this offseason will be good to us and fortune will shine on us with high draft picks and some money to make some moves. I think we're just a few healthy guys, a couple good coaches, and a couple new pieces away from being a true contender.

I think we'd be a much stronger team if we still had Suggs. Losing him sucked the swagger out of the defense that couldn't afford to lose it.

True.

I think the most frustrating thing about this season is that this team just doesn't have any heart. Grim's post up thread sums up how I feel pretty succinctly. It is painful to watch a team that just doesn't have the fire in them

Eager to see what Ozzie can do with a top 5 pick.

trade it and draft a lineman that can only run block or a olb that can't rush the passer or a CB that can't cover

Do not EVER expect a superbowl paying a mediocre QB a fortune. Not a single player on our either of SB was paid a fortune. Every player was what they were worth. You pay one man a one man show money, then go ahead and show it on the freaking field. If not, we need talents everywhere.

Fresh promising QB with talents around him can win us games.

Flacco and his 30mill with a hapless crew wil do nothing for us next year.

The Cleveland Browns say hello. They've been adopting the very strategy you are advocating for about a decade now...

There was a play at one point and it was a running play to Forsett, the camera went to Harbaugh and it showed him slightly shaking his head with a look on his face like did they really just call this play? He knows there's problems wth his coaches.... So fix it

Trestman is a coach killer, but we have far greater problems than him.

Yea it's not fair to him. On the flipside though, it's Torrey so you can't bite on Torrey's double move. On the flip-flip side, maybe don't leave your brand new corner one on one with no safety help with a guy who's known for burning defenses. Looking at you Pees.

That is rather strange. He was beat soundly on the first TD, and it was relatively apparent that he could be out of his depth. Yeah don't get me wrong, I don't think Wright is a good player and I thought it was a terrible signing.  With that being said though, are we really just going to leave him on an island with Torrey?  He's been awful for 2+ years now and we thought it was a good idea to give him no safety help when he's covering one of the better deep threats in the league?  That's the biggest concern for me.  It's fine to call out Wright for poor coverage, but the coaching staff whether it's Pees, Harbaugh, whoever, completely failed to put him in a position to succeed.

Trading it is a great idea though, since this team is FAR from adding one player and becoming a contender, regardless of how great that player is.

You could put JJ Watt on this team right now, and we MIGHT be 2-4.

I agree with all of this. Definitely missing the fire

I agree. Get rid of Pees. Get rid of Hewitt. Restructure Flacco's contract to open up say $5 million? That would work. Go get a guy like Trumaine Johnson. Maybe a Marvin Jones.

Too bad they don't trade Smitty back to Carolina. Retire a Panther annnd potentially play in a playoff game.

I wish he'd come back for another season though.

According to Sami if you're not a superstar then you're useless.

He's seen 8 snaps and hasn't been targeted. I agree in that it's too early to call it a wasted pick. Wouldn't mind seeing him out there at this point.

I don't think Ray has any interest but Reed has said before he would be interested in a coaching role.

Firing Pees would be beneficial to only help us see what we have in house as a replacement or if we will have to go outside of the organization for a new DC next year. You have to wonder how Biscotti feels about all this, and also Ozzie. Those two are the only two people we haven't heard anything from in regards to this now 1-5 start.
