The Good, the bad and ugly vs 49ers

438 posts in this topic

His regular season numbers are very pedestrian, but more times than not he's been clutch when it matters, even in the reg season. This year though, not so much. His 4th quarter heroics ranking has definitely taken a hit (not entirely his fault though obviously).

I have to respectfully disagree.  If Joe's fall in 4th quarter heroics was "obviously" not his fault we wouldn't read so many laughable comparisons about him to so-called "elite" frauds who also throw multiple picks per game.  Like the picks thrown against the Browns today.  But Football Jesus Manning gets a pass because his receiving weapons help him look good.  The same kind Joe could use but is rarely afforded.

Who besides Wizard and Sami saw this season going the way it is? lol

Well, count me in. I reluctantly posted we'd miss the playoffs at 9-7. And while it could be better or worse barring injury, the preseason revealed we weren't deep and didn't have mojo, so missing the playoffs should have been apparent to fans; however, we do want to see what's best in our team.

Also has to be noted, 49ers are one of the worst offenses in the NFL. Our D let them throw for 350 yards. Like I say every week but, what in the hell is going to happen when we play a great QB? Because up until now, we have played below average QB's and made them look all pro.

Still not as shocking as letting McCown throw for 457 yards after 10 days of preparation.

Missed the game.Did Wright play that bad?

He gave up both touchdowns they scored.  The first one Torrey torched him on a go route.  The second one Patton turned him around on Kap's scramble.  He was put in a tough spot, but if Webb and Brooks are healthy for next week then Wright should be sent packing

Hey Flacco, want to be Elite? Dont throw dumb balls into double coverage, just to throw it, and when you only have 1 minute left, Spike the freakin ball! Also, if Monroe doesnt care about losing, let him ride the bench, even the announcers were pointing out how he was walking up to the line with no timeouts left...clock mgmt, and squandered timeouts need to be addressed

All the signs to a poorly coached team that last drive. Waste about 20 seconds instead of clocking the ball to ruin the drive. Misuse of timeouts early in the half. Players not understanding the situation.

At this point, we have become the Browns. Even the good players look bad. Our probowl kicker can't kick. Steve Smith can't catch. Joe threw maybe the worst throw of his career. We dropped 3 TD passes. Even our TD pass to Aiken was caught by the wrong guy. We almost defended our own TD throw.

The defense looked really good when playing up at the line minus the new guy falling down and being terrible all game in general. Would have much rather had Asa out there. First half, they played off coverage up until the last few plays of their final drive. They gave up 225 passing yards that half. Second half was lots of up at the line with much better results, especially on third down. That flag near the end on Jimmy was pretty garbage. They called nothing all game where there was plenty of contact, and then they called that at the absolute worst time on a play that was very ticky tack.

Also, Joe has just looked uncomfortable all season. He didn't look like this last year. He seems unsure what to do. He seems frustrated. That last int was such a Cutler spite throw that it makes me wonder.

When you have Trestman you probably will get more of those throws .

Trestman needs to be gone after this year . He is a terrible fit .

Look at the bright side.

We are only 1 game behind the Browns for 3rd.

We are only 3 games behind the Steelers and a mere 5 games behind the Bengals.

If we win out we can still finish 11-5 and if the Bengals go 5-5 we can tie them!!!!!

League wise, we are right near the back of the pack as far as points allowed. As a matter of fact, we cured San Fran's difficulties scoring points and they have an overall stingier defense than we do by 2 points!!

We are officially in the running for the Top Draft Pick with

Detroit

Kansas City and

Jacksonville

We suck, but a top draft pick is within our grasp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We need some serious help on both sides of the ball. I think some change is needed. Guys just don't seem like they want to play at times. Who should we draft next year?

We need to shake it up big...........This team is in such horrible shape........we need a new staff, whos available?

Blow. The. Team. Up.

I think you have a misconception 1/28. We kind of have been rebuilding. And getting rid of Flacco creates significantly more problems than we already had. Sure, he's not elite but he's better than most of the league. Most of our players are draft picks acquired past three seasons. We're young. It was bound to happen. We have some good pieces here. ZDS, Maxx, Crockett, Davis, Jernigan, Brandon, Mosley, Will Hill, Flacco, Dumervil, Jimmy, hell maybe even Brooks and Perriman down the line.

I agree we need more talent but full on blowing up the team is dumb. We're not too far away from being good again honestly.

So from Harbaugh's press convo, he seems to be disappointed with a coordinator maybe both stating, they can't just call plays they have to call plays that work and put guys in position to make plays. He also seemed very upset with Wright.

This time, all three phases of the game failed. The offense with 2 drops on what should have been TD catches. Defense giving up too many big plays(a Fullback for crying out loud!!!), and Tucker with his missed FG that again showed up to hurt us at the end. Though I blame the field for Tucker's miss more than I do Tucker.

Again, another drive where had them stopped and a flag extended the drive. I just don't get it. It's evident the talent is lacking at WR outside of Steve Smith. Gilmore just needs the ball more, he's a play maker when thrown to. The talent on defense is there, that's the sad part of all this. Our defense giving up these leads isn't because we have nobody on defense, just we have the worst defensive coordinator in the NFL. Pees doesn't know what he is doing, and why he has been here for long, let alone survived this long in the NFL is beyond me.

I want to see the headline, "Ravens Fire Defensive Coordinator Dean Pees" tomorrow morning.

Ozzie blew the team up in 2013 and 2014...............just finish the job........purge it out entirely.
