The Good, the bad and ugly vs 49ers

And the 49ers are getting embarrassed on TNF. I know this isn't college football, but does that make our loss to them look worse?

Yes. The 49ers are awful.

Ray Lewis as a coach... No thanks. Idk if I'm in the minority here, but I can't handle him taking credit for our teams and ir players success anymore. He's runner me the wrong way lately.

It's quite obvious that we are all seeing and hearing things differently cause I don't get that vibe from him when he speaks.  He was the cornerstone of the Ravens franchise itself since 96' so of course he will make reference to himself as a reference point but I don't think that it is selfishly or egotistically trying to take ALL OF THE CREDIT for the Ravens and other players successes.  If that were the case then former teammates of his (i.e. Goose, McAlister, Heap, Suggs, Scott, B-Jackson, Reed and Ngata etc.) would have all come out and refuted his claims.  But, the reality is that he has been instrumental in multiple players lives on and off the field and both in and out of the Baltimore area.

Mili i feel you... I used to say the same things, I could just be sensitive because of our current state. But I'm not a fan of the "lack of a leader" talk, unless he knows that Suggs isn't meant to be the leader.

I think you're misinterpreting Lewis' comment.

“Big blow, big blow, big blow,” said Lewis. “You have to take your hat off to the way our defense played yesterday – but losing someone like this who is the fire on that team, it’s hard to replace a Terrell Suggs. I know our motto there, I know their motto there, is about next man up, but I’m telling you, that man is an animal.”

This is what Lewis said when we lost Suggs. To me, it sounds like he's saying what we all are: Suggs is that guy who is the leader of the team--he's the general that Lewis was. Lewis may call us out and say we have no leader, because right now, there isn't one on the field. Suggs isn't playing. Lewis even calls Suggs the "fire on that team," suggesting this much. This is why we struggled so much.

The first time Suggs tore his Achilles, we still had Lewis. It wasn't as much of a blow. This time, it's different. I have no problems with his comments.

Naw!  It just means that these teams get geared up to play the Ravens and the Ravens never seem to match those teams intensity from the start of the game until the end to win.  No doubt Torrey and Q was looking forward to that game last week!  Pretty sure they had it marked on their calendars.

They both showed up and showed out while the Ravens receiving core looked and played well below mediocre at best (with the exception of SSS).  So, the teams that beat us one week lose badly the next.  That's what we're witnessing for the most part imo!

I can buy into that......that was a problem for a good bit. We'd get up for the "high calibur teams" and the Jacksonville's would slip on in there on us (not last year but the primetime embarrassment a few seasons ago for example).

yes, we all know he "sucks". but we drafted him in the 4th round and went into the game 1-4.. at this point we need to start developing our young players. no point in saying they "suck" at this point. the whole team sucks. why bring in a street bum and start him 3 days later when we have young bucks that need to develop for the future, who the organization has already invested in.

just further proves the incompetence and desperation in the organization this year, and how poorly management has been drafting the past few seasons.

Exactly, bringing in the shrice or whatever his name is guy was crazy IMO, he's been cut by two teams and what's even crazier is that we signed him less than ONE WEEK before playing the team HE JUST LEFT so the other team knows EVERYTHING about him. Meanwhile, your draft pick is just sitting.

And the sad thing is, we'll probably draft a bum AGAIN instead of taking the best DB available.

I miss when we knew what we were doing.

They also predicted Élam would suck and that Mosley wasn't as good as we thought. Those guys are geniuses.

Could've had Diggs. Dude is tearing it up for Minny.

And Richardo lockette...and Tyler Lockett, and Phillip Dorsett. Edited by Cillmatic

I feel you Smoke.  I know cats in here don't like to hear that "lack of a leadership" talk but to me and others that's what it is!  I think many are viewing it negatively cause they are reading the wrong things into Ray Lewis' statement.  They hear it as Ray is saying..."The Ravens need me personally to win!"  That's not what I get from it at all!  The Ravens need "a player" or "players" that serve as the cornerstone (as Ray mentioned) for this franchise to build upon...as Ray was for 17 years!

I feel that Suggs is the leader and without him (and due to the multiple injuries as well etc.) , we are feeling the effects of that void.

Taking credit for our team? What?? Sounds to me like you forgot about who he is, bc its a fine line understanding who he is. If youve watched him for a decade he means well in his way. If your a pats fan, you take him like he is a diva.
