The Good, the bad and ugly vs 49ers

I'm not saying he will get fired. Only there is big trouble in Baltimore brewing and someone has got to be held accountable for the ridiculous play - calling, absurd penaties, the lack of talent and dismal over-all play. Lackluster play comes from poor coaching plain and simple. I don't know about you but I hate being the laughing stocks of the league.

I really don't know what's wrong with the players. I think most of them love John Harbaugh as their head coach but this in general is a young team. Harbaugh said it  before the season even started that they would be counting on young guys early rather than later  to step up.  The defense for the most part has been giving games up and that at some point has to be on Dean Pees.

No, actually, you did say he will get fired. You said Ozzie would get fired and that John would get fired (as is the case when a GM gets fired).

Don't back off of it now... stay with it.

Things that need to happen:

  • Play Arthur Brown
  • Play Tray Walker
  • Play Charles James
  • Play Terrance Brooks
  • Continue playing Gillmore, Boyle, and Williams.
  • Find out if Perriman is still "blessed"

I am referring to the one behind SSS and very low. Was that the first or second? I thought it was the first.

It was behind, but not low. It hit him right in both hands

Agree with all that.  Id also like to see KLM, Waller and Givens get more time.  The coaching staff continues to walk on the line of insanity by trotting Marlon Brown out there in 3-wide sets.  I wouldn't bench Smith and Mosley necessarily, but give them breathers with Brown and allow him to come in and rush the passer from time to time.  He has to be better at that then Upshaw or McClellan, doesn't he?

Brooks is currently injured. But I agree, some playing time for the young guys during garbage time in a bad season is a great way for them to get experience without young mistakes blowing the playoffs for us.

I would give brown time in the exact way you suggested, also if we plan on dropping Upshaw into coverage, roll brown out there and let him use his speed. marlon brown needs to be benched

yeah, you kinda did say that numerous times. And you just implied it in your previous post. Now your trying to walk it back bc in the back of your head you realize it's not gonna happen and was a knee jerk conclusion. Edited by January J

No, its called being realistic

Just making sure ya know. Before Sunday, ANYONE who dare say that the Ravens aren't winning 9 of the last 11 were fairweather fans who were just obviously too emotional.

My reality is that these Ravens players are not good whatsoever. Bottom tier talent at best!

So we need to be having a discussion about Ozzie.

The Good - Its was nice seeing Torrey and Anquan do work.  maybe this will teach Ozzie not to get rid of weapons that made Joe Flacco successful.

The Bad - After seeing Justin Tucker slip on the field goal i knew something was up.  Joe Flacco jinxed the team with his expectations of winning the division , which would take at least 12 wins.

The Ugly - I feel so bad for Steve Smith playing his last season on this team.

I saw a post about the int's Flacco has been throwing. I will by no means make any excuses

for Joe Flacco. This is what I will say, Let's look at it from this angle. We have an Offensive

Coordinator who had a bad performance is Chicago last year. We Bring this Guy to baltimore.

Maybe the plays that Marc Trestman designed for the Ravens causes Flacco to deliver

the ball into more defensive traffic. Yes the Quarter back is to blame for int's however

the O coordinator is responsible for the routes, O line blocking schemes etc.......

I will say, the one thing about Wright getting beat on those two touchdowns is that he just got flat out beat in man coverage. I don't know how much of that you can put on him being new. He just got beat by his man.

Its obvious they need WR's on the offensive side of the ball will they address it early or ignore it like they have been doing forever? You cant just bank on a first rounder being the savior they need value in rounds 2-4, not a hit or miss in rounds 1 and 6, thats a bad model.

No doubt what a gift to any opposing QB. I bet Kap's eyeball's popped out of his skull seeing that mismatch

Oh yeah for sure. My bigger issue is that he called Wright out when we've had guys doing this for 6 weeks now. It's not like it's some new development, and the guy he's going to call out has been here the shortest time. Maybe it was motivational, I don't know. Still rubs me the wrong way.

Torrey smith interview after the game:

(on if he was expecting single coverage outside)

“Yeah, it’s the Ravens. They’re going to trust themselves. They have guys that can do it. They’re going to get pressure up front. So, we definitely expected that.”

Even HE EXPECTS the Ravens defense to fail. That quote should get pees fired. The fact that they expected us to be idiots is just embarrassing.

So we should fire Pees for Torrey expecting us to play a coverage that fans on these boards have been demanding we DO play for years now?

The irony is getting unbelievably thicker by the day in here...

You better get that sports almanac back from Biff Tannen, Marty McFly

What? WHO on the forum has been demanding the team let a few agent Bench warmer play cover zero(single coverage) against one of the fastest WR's in the league? Edited by Cillmatic

Man coverage. That's what that was. Man coverage consistently played doesn't mean you get safety help over the top all the time.

You play the right coverage, and it doesn't matter how fast he is, because the corner's got a 10 yard head start to the pylon.

You want pressure on the QB on a team with only one legitimate pass rusher, there's only one way to do it.

Sounds like we've identified a weakness in the whole "lets play more man coverage theory". Explain to me how you can successfully play man coverage consistently with these corners when the only way to get pressure on the QB is to blitz?

He said "single coverage". Look back at the film. It was cover zero. No safety help. NO ONE has demanded playing cover zero. Not me at my least.

I don't know man... What Harbaugh said was pretty true and it's not like Wright is a rookie and he was facing against his old team in which he has practice with since training camp. Nothing really should have been a surprise for him even if he hasn't been on The Ravens team long.

The guy got beat bad for a two touchdowns by double moves in which one he actually gave up by falling downs. I think that's embrassing even for a guy that's only been on the team for less than 2 weeks.

Why call a guy out that's been with the team for a couple of days but not some of these guys that have been here for years and playing just as badly

Idk. Wright basically was the only Ravens defensive  player that was giving up touchdowns to my understand I guess it really ticked of Harbaugh alot.

I just think it's pretty stupid to leave a guy that's been on the team for 4 days in one on one coverage with no safety help against one of the betterdeep threats in the game.. That's just terrible coaching

Should wright have played better? Sure?

I'd be mad at about 20 other players before id go off on wright

He's awful. I'm not sure how many SD games you've watched but Wright was the worst player on that team and it wasn't even close

It's been a massive balls up from all across the board this season. There isn't one person/group that you could point the finger to and say "that's the only problem" as they're all contributing negatively.

If you're blaming the defense then Pees is the main culprit being looked at. A lack of luck and it's down to a lot of injuries to key personnel. If recruitment is the problem then look no further than Ozzie and his team. Consistently bad plays on offense then you're obviously looking at Trestman for play call, Flacco for execution (on some of the pathetic INT plays) and the receivers for dropping quite a few easy catches. Harbaugh obviously plays a part in all of this too.

My point is, there are people on here putting the blame at the feet of certain individuals but the fact is they're not the only ones letting the team down so it's hard to hold one individual accountable for everybody else's [profanity deleted] ups.
