[News] 5 Things To Watch At 49ers

31 posts in this topic

The Ravens are the Kings of "Next man up" and Joe can make players step their game up if he pushes them to play better and open up this Offense and let the team ride his back! I want that old Joe Flacco back that came in this league throwing strike didn't have to many big names then so now what's the difference?! Run it a few times but Joe gotta stay in the shotgun put Juice by his side to help block and LIGHT IT UP!

This will likely be a "make or break" game for the FO. If they lose in the typical fashion (giving up late 4th quarter leads, offensive miscues leaving points off the board), I would expect to see some pressure to move on from Pees, stash more guys on the IR, and maybe even work a few trades for conditional picks (Smith Sr, Osemele). If we win, we may have a punchers chance at making the playoffs in a very diluted AFC. Either way, they should probably bite the bullet and fire Pees in favor of a guy like Schwartz.

If Crockett Gillmore actually plays today, then add #6 to the Things To Watch. Gillmore could be a huge difference maker today if he's ready to roll. Has anyone heard the final word on whether Gillmore is playing? Last I heard was questionable.

I want to see them start fast offensively, none of this three and out stuff which has been typical of this down slide. They have to look at as if every game is a shootout.

No leadership from this team I see no great start from offense Meaning Joe, nobody I mean nobody from defense. make it a TEAM game both sides coaches two you are killing John.

Will the coaching staff do anything different on offense or defense? Will they give young guys opportunities? Will the team continue to beat itself with turnovers and penalties? Which smith has the biggest impact Torrey, Jimmy? I say Smith Sr. Will they team play with SMART aggression?

The Ravens receivers will have a great game today. Problem is it is not because of the talent and don't be one of those who gets distracted by it. 49ers giving up 14.9 yards a reception.

TS a good, not great WR who the Ravens offered a fair contact to. He opted for the money and bolted. I just hope I'm not channel surfing and watching the Food Network or Friends by the 3rd quarter.

How about a key being, whether or not a defense that has been poor for much of the early part of the season, can hang on and not cough up points drive after drive?

Webb is out and if Dumervil is out, then this is the same defense that gave up a record number of yards to the Browns at home. I'd think whether or not the defense can ever get off the field would be a thing to watch.

Kap will run and pass for a combined 400 plus yards. Until somebody steps up on the D all QB's will continue to post up insane numbers.

Is anybody expecting any different results with the same soft zone scheme? Pees is fooling himself, with his puffed up press conference. Players are not buying into it, he doesnt get it. What is it called when you do the same thing over and over and expect different results?

would like to see marlon brown watch film of aj green and dez bryant and try to emulate them. he is 6'5 and not built like a twig by any means. disappointed that he has not improved with the impressive rookie season that he had. wish we used a 5th on stephon diggs who would have been our answer in the return game and could have been used like edelman. his nfl debut last week he caught 6 passes for 87 yards. that may be more receptions and yards than marlon has in 5 games

Asa Jackson and Arrington are part of the problem, not the solution. Neither of them can conver. They have already proven that. Look for another 30 points given up by this sorry excuse for a defense. A defense that can't cover, can't get pressure on the qb, and can't force turnovers. Just pathetic.

Hour before game this must change... Penalties.

If Dumervil is out.. Harbaugh has to play Jernigan only pure pass rusher left. Jernigan has to be huge. Forget Harbaughs dog house. Its time to win.

I want to see a lot of TEs..Boyle,Williams in case Sr doesnt play or is more a decoy. And take more down field shots with Givens...

Expect run game to be shutdown 8 in the box without Forsett

You're right about Torrey, and I loved the guy. But, yeah, he left for 5 million dollars over 4 years, to go out to California with its higher taxes. I wonder just how much more he's really getting. Maryland's taxes are high too, but not as high as California's. And a couple of days ago I had to read on here that Torrey was crying, or close to crying, when he had to leave the Ravens. Really? He HAD to leave? I think it was a 5 million dollar Choice for him. If he really wanted to stay, he could have, and somehow I think he could have managed to pay his bills on what we were offering him. Seriously, with the tax differential, I really do wonder just how much difference the two offers really were.
