[News] Who's Playing, Who's Not vs. 49ers

what the heck is wrong with our strength and conditioning? this is several years in a row that half the team is out or on IR by a few weeks into the season. it can't be bad luck. either the guys lack toughness, or the training staff is not mandating enough workout or flexibility work.

After reading this article, I get the feeling that the Ravens should just stay home and forfeit the game. What a downer.

Injuries seem to be up throughout the league (and growing). Some say that it has more to due with the new turf (experimental at best) that the majority of teams are using. Others point at the new rule changes that give players no alternative but low tackles and blocks. Lastly, with 'speed' and 'strength' players being one of the main focuses on almost every team (track and extreme bodybuilding athletes) those types of injuries have always been common-place in other sports outside of football.

I think forsett and Gilmore will be a go but SSS and doom will sit. You already know yanda will play- if everybody on the team showed even a tenth of his and Steves toughness we'd be alright.

It used to be it was big news that a NFL star player is out for the season due to injury. Think back to just a few years ago when Peyton Manning had to have neck surgery due to injury and missed the whole year. People had discussing groups about it on TV for weeks. Now days it's not about who is the missing injured star, but who's left on the team to play? This is league wide so something has changed causing these injuries. GO RAVENS!

Its all on flacco. He has to make it happen Sunday. Would be nice to get a few turnovers on defense too but not countin on it. I think Gilmore comes back on a rampage and him and flacco get it done by themselves.

I want Webb gone, how many years in a row has this ben that he hasn't been able to play a full season. he is the most injury prone player on the team, part ways already. He's a cool guy but at this point he's a waist.

I been saying that for years. The second most expensive player on the team for longest time and still the second in cap. Ravens need to get rid of dead weight.

Here you have SSS about to play after cracks in his back and Webb and Perriman still nursing boo boos. A generation of wimps is what USA is producing.

Joe can make up for these injuries with extending some plays rollouts, pump fakes etc to get Marlon going! This Offense can take up the slack because the Defense is still getting it together! People need to leave Dean Pees alone it's too many new people on our Defense for everyone to ride him so hard because how quickly people forget the Defense carried this team every since they became Ravens and you never heard a peep out of them even when the Offense couldn't even score 20pts! They will win Sunday and watch it grow and like Harbs said "they want to look back and see how they handled it"! Get Marlon going and watch this team do some damage banged up and all! They can do it I know they can!

Joe has to lead and get strong in the 4th Q. Aiken has to be spot on. Gilmore, Boyle and Williams have to own the short routes. Buck has his chance.   I was hoping SSS would play. I hope Ross does something productive too.

The uncertainty in the backfield will entice Trestman to chuck the ball on 75% of the snaps. Never a recipe for victory with the Ravens. I say run Juice like Mike Alstott and pound these guys.

don't even want to watch them against 9ers. I wouldn't be surprised to see a blow out from either team. 9ers are due to beat up on someone and clearly the Ravens are hungry for a win. Hope the 9ers don't put up big offensive numbers against a minimal defense.

Here's hoping Torrey gets 4 touchdowns !......but we hopefully win 34-31 :)

One game at a time- we have to get to .500- and soon !

If we lose in overtime again how long before Ozzie starts pitching Pees to USC?

Love the idea above of using Juice as our RB. We won't though, and I bet Kaepernak ends the day with more rushing yards than any RB on either team.

The silver lining Sunday is that without any of our starters we will actually get to see if any of our youngsters are worth keeping as we rebuild. Basically training camp 2.0. We can forget about the score and just see who can tackle, press cover, get separation. My bet is we come out of there with a much better idea of what our future needs will be. Which I see as making lemonade from lemons.

The moment Webb starts looking like he's gradually getting into form, he's out - again. Sigh ...

Yeah, it's a shame this keeps repeating itself.
