[News] Steve Smith Sr.: Mike Mitchell Still On Hit List

14 posts in this topic

The worst part is Mitchell taunting SSS after he laid down on the field, obviously in pain and hurt enough that he could not even make it to the sideline. The NFL is a brotherhood of men who would not celebrate or taunt the injury of another player on the ground, even a member of a rival team. Doesn't matter who made the hit. To top it off, this was a former teammate/friend who called SSS for advice. Mitchell has earned a spot on SSS's Lifetime Hit List. The rematch with the Steelers may get a wee bit dicey or erupt in to a skirmish. Mitchell might come to regret being stupid enough to piss off SSS, who happens to have a very long memory.

Agreed, I would be fighting mad too if I just had my bones fractured and a former teammate that asked for my help started talking trash to me. It's the timing of the trash talk that is so classless. He would be on my list also!

I admire SSS attitude towards the game, I really just wish some of these younger players don't take for granted who they're playing next to and learn everything they can from Smitty.

i remember when he put out the quote he was talking about himself and how he acts like a "goon" or something. How it has always been a part of his mentality to be the alpha pit bull and leave people in your path with no pity... he needs to be a coach with us or something.

I don't remember Ray Lewis ever taunting a guy who was laying on the ground with an injury.
