Can I ask why so many of you are inquiring as to whether or not it frees up salary cap space? I mean looking at this realistically we are a 1 and 4 team right now. I don't think trading away any of our draft capital is really worth it, do any of you?

In my opinion all this is doing is making sure that this offseason we have less things to worry about. We will be able to have a more long and protracted discussion with our players and have more time to think about franchise tag ramifications and how much we really want to pay certain players. I think if anything this is really an admission that the off season has already begun, not in the sense that we are giving up, but in the sense that we did not see ourselves going anywhere this year so we are going to get a head start on free agency so we can have a more solid understanding of cap space that we are going to have to resign our pool of players. This bodes well for contract renegotiation such as Flacco's and Justin Tucker's so that way we have an idea of what that money is coming off in one of our price free agents that has just been resigned, the cap figure is now known.

On to the resigning itself, I love the move. I think he is still the best guard in the league, our running game and Joe Flacco.
