[News] Byrne Identity: It's Obvious: We Have To Play Better

20 posts in this topic

I am relieved to hear that right after the game, Harbs called for a "right now" meeting of assistant coaches. (I will presume that this meeting included the DC and OC). I am glad that Harbs acknowledged this in front of the players that the coaches have to find schemes to put players in the right position to make plays rather than just focus on the player failures to execute. I am hoping that the coaches are truly being held accountable behind closed doors. Fine with me. Just get it done and start making some real changes needed to start turning things around.

Come on Kevin Byrne most people on that injury list are either always on injury list or would not make much difference on the field. Stop the denial! The Ravens have an issue coaching and player selection. Bottom line.

We just don't have the personnel to do better. Ravens are the slowest team in the NFL on both sides of the ball. We don't have a shut down corner but pay the corners we do have like they are. Poor draft picks, Poor cap management and there you have it the 2015 Ravens the worst in franchise history. We have the worst Receivers in the entire league and yet we expect Flacco to be great every Sunday?

It's strange how last night Phil Simms, Jim Nantz, Bill Cowher, and Deion Sanders all talked about the 1-4 Saints going against the 5-0 Falcons as "still in it." It's almost as if every single week up until a team has lost all chance of going at least 8-8, the pundits like to make it seem as if the game that's about to played is the one that'll 'determine their season.' Just an interesting observation.

Knowing Harbs and how loyal he likes to be to his coaches, I think the odds are better that the little coaches meeting was more about telling everyone to stick together during the barrage of negativity that was sure to come to them after being 1-4 and power through it. He doesn't seem like the kind of professional and we don't seem like the kind of franchise that wants to be in the business of publicly berating players or coaches and acrimoniously parting ways with them. I think the most we'll ever get out of Ozzie or Harbs when a coach or player is released "it didn't work out."

I'm confident the Ravens are gonna get it together! But when they get in the redzone stop trying to run it in so much and hit the TEs! Joe Flacco has to get a "Killer Instinct" when on the field or were not going anywhere! He is the leader of the Ravens whether he likes it or not! I'm sorry but he doesn't lead our team like big ben, brady and manning does their squads but will lead the "we'll get them next time or I just need more time" meaning the blocking is poor when he needs to run more and extend plays to get WRs open or we need to get another QB! Brady runs he even kicked Ed Reed big ben runs well not anymore but he will so Joe gotta step up take over or put Matt in this Offense can operate w/o Joe but alot of people don't think so! Joe makes every throw in the book in practice to win the job but in a game he's been coming up short! Had a Super Bowl in our grasp last season and threw it all away! When we play the squeelers again you better believe they are coming for Joe and it will not be the O line fault he will have to throw strikes and move out the pocket or its a WRAP! And watch everyone blame everyone on the O line instead of the QB! I just want him step up and "LEAD" THE BALTIMORE RAVENS! This team us my pride an joy! LETS GO!

Welcome to the real world, I guess.  If ESPN says that a team is out of it, and then TV ratings for their game nose dive, guess what network is going to be calling ESPN with a complaint?  Maybe even a lawsuit.  No, they need to generate interest in games by making sure everyone knows "there's a chance!"

Those words of wisdom from Joe are disturbing to me, sounds like a guy just going with the flow. Joe cool probably has the amnesia working over time.

The team knows what needs done, no more talk is needed, just get it done...

Exactly, they ended the season last year with this talk and they've been saying the same thing for the past 5 weeks - "We've got to play better," - so go out and play better and quit screwing around all ready!!!

Kevin, we know it's obvious the team has to play better. You can count up the injuries, but way back last summer no one thought, up there in the castle, that the 1st. string players would get hurt and look at us now. No back ups like the exhibition season when the 2nd,3rd string players couldn't cut it. It was obvious in July.

Hey Kevin, ya want some cheese with that whyne? Tell Pees to stop playing that soft Prevent zone, CB's 12 yards off the ball, sending predictable blitzes, not being ready for the screen pass when we do, and try and tackle once in awhile, dont make stupid penalties, and we'll be good.

Kap, Torrey and Boldin are going to have career high day this Sunday. Carr who yeah that guy put up huge numbers on Jimmy -who is supposed to be one of the best in the NFL with a rookie WR.... Yeah that really happened.

Amen to that.

I am certainly no football guru, but after we lost three games in the pre-season I said, "If we get down to the third guys on the depth chart, we're in trouble." And we did. They just can't cut it for some reason. I don't know if it's unlucky drafting, poor preparation, or attitude, but this team of back-ups can't rise to the occasion. At least they haven't yet.
