Kap is going pass for 500 on our broken secondary ... This will be a gong show

I cannot believe you were negged to hell for this post! The naivety of our fans in unbelievable. Okay, yeah he probably won't pass 500 yards (probably!), but more likely than not it will be Kaps best game of the season. Close to 400 yards and 3 TD-s + change at rushing is more than realistic.

Face the facts guys, our secondary is contesting Giants' secondary for the league worst awards, our pass rush is non-factor, and now we have injuries on top of that. It'll be a field day for Kap.

Just today the FedEx award nominations for last week were announced and you can guess three times if McCown is on there or not. Yup, of course he is! After 5 weeks this season, 3 times has the QB who went against us been nominated for the best passer award for that week. The other 2 were nearly 40-year old Manning and a backup QB making his 1st start this season.

So, people who think this defense has a realistic shot at shutting down Kap need a shovel hit to the face to knock them back to reality, because it's more likely that he'll pass for 500 yards 4 TDs and rush for 150 yards 2 TDs and be the FedEx Air player of week 6, than it is for the Ravens secondary to shut him down.

I love to end things on an optimistic note though, so at least it'll be nice to see Boldin and Smith have games for the highlight reel, us Ravens fans should love both of these guys. I especially enjoy watching Smith get DPI flags, though it probably won't happen much in this game, he'll just run past our secondary like a Ferrari driving past a lamp post. We should start calling our DB group the Forrest, cause they apparently have grown roots.

Its going to be really tough if Forsett, Dum and Yanda are out.    Also, Boldin has something to proove about our management tossing him out.  It's ironic that the super bowl 47  teams are facing each other with 1-4 records.  Of course, the personnel is absolutely different but the status of these teams has been damaged beyond a fans' expectations.

Yea, it's really tough to become a dynasty in this league.  The NFL sets itself up that way.  Well, unless you're the Patriots.  If it wasn't for that darn Brady, FLacco could be sitting here with three rings.  The good news is they have the FO and the talent to turn it right around next year.  What they need, I guess, is to beef up the medical staff.  SHEESH.  Iron Joe is the ONLY guy that doesn't get hurt.

I don't follow that stuff too much, but Carr and Dalton should have been nominated for the FedEx passer of the week also.  They both had career type games against the Ravens.

Wow, this team really seems to get banged up. I think it is a contributing factor that they have so many old guys at key spots. They need those guys because, prior to the 2014 draft, the Ravens had several very sub-par drafts that didn't produce much talent. Everyone harps on guys like Ellerbe and McPhee, UDFAs that make it big. Well, that's a great story but it is also indicative of the guys drafted ahead of them not panning out. Hopefully our last two drafts are a positive trend.

Joe is and always was steady. When Birk was playing he was another guy who played without injury risk.   Its hard to believe Ty Taylor gets injury in his fist starting season.

Mike Vick with four days of practice going into the Thursday game and Peyton will be the only two QB's who did not have a career day against this sad excuse for a defense this season. Can somebody MAN UP PLEASE.

he blew past the defender early in the 2nd quarter and was wide open for what would have Been an easy walk In touchdown but joe didn't see him and threw to brown instead. (And he dropped it )

Yeah, I saw that too, I was a little disappointed by that.

Pessimism nor optimism have anything to do with it here, it's simply knowing football players. As you pointed out Peyton is on his last legs and Vick had 4 days of practice as the starter. But Derek Carr is a franchise QB in the making, a strong armed guy who is making better decisions with each start in his young career Josh McCown has always been a smart journeyman with the adequate tools to have big games. And as much as I despise Dalton, he has always been a good thrower with quality weapons to take advantage of porous defenses. Kaepernick is an athlete masquerading as a terrible QB who has regressed every year of his career. I don't doubt he could have a solid game with the way our defense is playing but if he throws for 400 yards, hell will have officially frozen over. If you are looking to be this big of a pessimist, it would be more realistic to think he will run all over us than to magically have the throwing talent that he simply doesn't have. We have after all allowed easy TD runs by the aforementioned McCown and Dalton and they are nowhere near as athletic as Kaepernick is.

Because Kaepernick and his crew stink even more than we do at this point.

You know, a lot of people on here have questioned the effectiveness of our training and conditioning staff, and given the number of injuries we have suffered for two years in a row now, kind of makes one think that all these posters may very well have a valid point. I think that it's definitely something that needs to be looked at Very carefully and completely to try to determine whether or not some personnel, some methods, or some changes might be indicated or needed. I'd be very interested to compare our record in the number of injuries to all the other teams in the league for the last two seasons to see just where we stand. It seems like a stretch to just chalk it up to luck and luck alone. Put someone on that, will you Ozzie?

I think it is therapeutic to focus on winning the next game. Once that happens we can all get excited for a winning streak till we lose again and get back into tanking mode.

The fact is (as I see it) that SanFran has Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin. This secondary really struggles against good, physical receivers who play the ball well and have good hands (that's Boldin), and they struggly possibly even more against speed (that's Torrey). Unless Kaepernick just COMPLETELY lost his ability to throw the ball, we're against a very very bad matchup for our defense and the only thing that can save us is if those guys get a case of the drops or if Kaepernick is just so off-target that he probably will get benched. Unfortunately, I don't think Kaepernick has regressed quite that much, and we tend to bring out the A-game in opposing QBs (near-40-year old Manning not-withstanding).

I said 9-7

What year are you predicting that? I think were going to 4-12 just like Bengals did 2010 and I'm not sure where the 3 are coming from.

I think we get a few of these guys back... and I also think a couple of the new guys step up.  Like I said.  I think Givens is gonna be good for us.  We get Steve and Crockett back too...  just sayin.  We're not going to blank out Dude.

Why should we be interested in articles about or comments from...Torrey. I read he cried when he left.....but make no mistake, he left for a few dollars more...his decision.

Move on with those comments about him.....wish him the best.....but could care less about his feelings for our town, team or players.....we are 1-4....but we have a future. In San Fran he is stuck in a lousy organization....with no hope of change.

Just one man's opinion....
