[News] Torrey Smith Almost 'Cried Like A Baby' Leaving Baltimore

51 posts in this topic

Maybe it is time to bring TS and AB back. Do you think SF would consider a trade for Marlon Brown?

That is so funny!   I doubt it, the 49ers have enough problems!

Probably because guys like Carr and McGown are shredding them for 400 yards a game.

I miss those pass interference calls to Torrey win Joe threw the ball to short, and Boldin could go up and straight up and out muscle the defender for those jump balls Joe is famous for. Those were the go old days!!!!!!!!

Growing up, many of my Baltimore sports heroes spent their entire careers in our city. I guess I have gotten used to the new era of current day sports, the revolving door of free agency, salary caps etc.. I was sorry to see Torrey and Anquan leave the Ravens, that's life in the NFL these days and it was a business decision. With our current WR issues, missing both of them might be more blaring, especially if they also successfully take advantage of our defensive deficiencies. Both Torrey and Anquan were great Ravens, part of our Super Bowl legacy forever. Both were great teammates and great human beings who contributed to the communities in Baltimore and elsewhere. I will always be grateful for the time they spent with the Ravens.

Torrey Smith is a class act. There are those on this board who, unbelievably, think that he ran for the money. What was he supposed to do? Stay and get low-balled? Any of us who is working a job that we really love, when presented with a great opportunity to make our family more comfortable, we'd all jump on it. The ones who don't are either crazy, or the boss has some blackmail-ish stuff over their heads. Torrey did his thing here, and he did a great job. I always remember how he would turn it up a notch against Pittsburgh. Rather than snicker and be snide about Torrey, show him some love, but cheer for our Ravens this Sunday. Torrey is cheering for the 49ers.

I cried when Torrey left BUT football being what it is he needs to make his money now to support his family.

Torrey and Q could both still be here with the other moves made in 2013 and 2014. On the field they may be down, but off the field there's no replacing what they meant to our offense. BTW, they have Kaepernick throwing them the ball, no wonder their numbers are down. If Flacco was tossing to Torrey and Q, they would both be up in production. With that said, I hope we shut them both down, but Jimmy and Webb need to play better or these guys are going to have a big day. If we don't start drafting some weapons for Joe, Ozzie better find a way to keep guys around who fit our system.

Sad to say that I'm actually starting Kaepernick this week on my fantasy football team just because of Torrey Smith and Boldin. They know our team better than anyone we face and will make Pees look even more amature than he already is.. It's going to be a great game and hopefully we actually show up, because the Niners are..

Hey Torrey I almost cried when Joe threw you that pass and they had you covered over and under and they blamed you but didn't blame Joe because they showed the picture from behind Joe "BEFORE" he released the ball the safety was already 5yds from you and he threw our season away! Should of ran Forsett on that play he had a "MONSTER" day plus Joe could of ran up the sidelines Hurst "PANCAKED" his man clearing the way! Things we missed wasn't showed that week either! These are FACTS! The safety said "He didn't look me off" what happened to what they said after the game like they did this week! A Super Bowl hangover would make up for this very very very bad start to a season! I'm sorry but these are FACTS! Red me up but people point fingers at everyone but the QB whom I like but like I said these are FACTS!

Re-sign Torrey and Anquan! We saved cap money cutting Ngata and Jacoby Jones....I'm sure Torrey would love to come back.

O look at the cap stats you might be surprised what they did not save

Both teams 1-4, the loser is going to fire someone. The losing head coach should be on the hot seat.

Welp since Thomsula is in his first season and hasn't had an opportunity to bring in his own players, etc. yet................................

Right, I want Steve to light a fire under Harbaugh, I remember the post season report after the bad season following the super bowl. They can blame it on injuries but our offense is scoring and our secondary is healthy, it's a lack of the right leadership. Side note, have anyone seen Suggs on the sideline motivating his teammates? I'm sure Ray would be out there injured...

Torrey contributed more to the Ravens winning over the years than Jimmy Smith yet they had money to sign Jimmy, previously gave Webb a contract, and gave Pitta (who broke his hip a deal). None of those 3 are helping the Ravens now. It's all about who an organization chooses to pay.
