We let good players walk out like they are nothing. Darian Stewart is playing lights out in Denver, James Ihedigbo is very solid in Detroit. They were not expensive at all, but instead we decide to bring old, injury prone guys...

Right. Player evaluation has been suspect the past few years. It's not the talent or lack thereof. Obviously, it's the coaching or the front office.

Will this move finally allow us to get rid of Webb? Webb should have been released years ago. He has not contibuted anything substantial for a LONG time! All the QBs in the league realize how bad Webb is....they throw to his side the majority of the time.

The above reads like a chummy, pals in buckskin, class reunion. Signed by the Chargers. Cut by the 49er's. I can't find anything, except he trains with Smith during the off season. Downing, give us some stats on this guy. Like what's he done over the last 5 years.

Ok this is ridiculous number 1 its all about scheme darian stewart when he was here he was always in the wrong place at the wrong time and didnt improve until down the stretch as for ihedigbo the thing is we want matt elam to develop and with a veteran safety in will hill there was no need just like josh bynes release

Stewart was a bum when he was here. Good for him that he's playing well now, but he was a liability on the field when he was here. How much of his success right now is due to the fact that he has 2 pro bowl cbs, and Von miller and ware to put pressure on qbs?

Pretty harsh guys :-)

This could be a great signing. With these guys being friends and it sounds like Wright was one of the studs in their neighborhood, the friendship could push both to another level now that they're on the same team and on opposite sides of the field.

I like this one.

The problem is not letting them walk. It's putting good talent that Ozzie finds under Dean Pees to squander into nothingness

He asked to be released they didn't cut him for bad play

Maybe its the coaching? The guy teaching them never played that position.

As long as he can remember to line up 10 yards off the receivers when it is 3 and 2, he will fit right in.

LOLOL........the truth. If he can ignore getting his head around...he will be one of the guys in short order too.

@ JCMerrell. That is so freakin' funny! That, line up far off the receivers in short yardage situations and get beat deep every 8th play because you finally figured out how to defend short passes, just like in N.E. last January! Ha!

Hahahaa, you the truth man! But it's funny because it's true.

Also, even when he is 10 yards off the WRs AND it turns out to be a deep pass on that 3&2 he must remember to stand still and let WR run past him anyway.

You could be right, but he really wasn't much of a factor with the rams either. I think it's more scheme and the players around him then anything. Maybe he just finally had a break out season. Who knoes. Point is, there are a numerous of factors to hey he isn't a raven so to say that ozzie is letting all the good defenders walk and name Stewart as a prime example doesn't give that argument substance

The bigger problem is that every guy from our secondary that leaves plays better elsewhere and everyone we bring in plays worse than he did in his previous team. Every player we draft in the secondary shows absolutely no signs of developing from NCAA level to NFL level. The writing is on the wall. Pees has to go! The sooner the better.

At this point, I don't have expectations either way. Just sure would be nice if Wright was able to come in and be a real asset on the field. We certainly need the help. My understatement of the day.

I agree with you but I have to believe that the secondary coach has to share some of the blame for this as well.

Some players are better with a change or in a different system. Lets see what happens before judging the move or him. I will! I think what is important is they are trying.
